Yeah, I was happily surprised. I think it actually may have been you when I first heard of his former coach being at Missouri so I kind of assumed that would be the destination. Then, within the last couple days I read that Auburn was actually the favorite for whatever reasons.
I'm excited about the addition. Like I stated before, with the caveat that Pack & Omier return, I think it'll be a pretty balanced team like they had last season & the season before when they made deep runs in the NCAAT. I could see Pack, Poplar, Cleveland, and Omier all averaging double digit points. I think Cleveland fits well in Larranaga's system because he likes having several players that can handle the ball and shoot on the floor, which creates a lot of spacing and room to operate. I think Cleveland will be pretty effective playing with those guys.
Yeah I recall us conversing a couple weeks back.
That’s just the thing though. He’s not a shooter and he struggles to consistently attack off the bounce in the half court. He made 21 threes in 30 games this year and shot 69% from the FT line. Now both of those were substantial improvements from his freshman year, so maybe he can still improve some? But he’s just not a natural shooter. He’s more of a poor man’s Jordan Miller, who turns it over a lot more.
His best asset is defensive rebounding. Very good there. But that is sort of already covered on your team by Norchad.
Idk. Just hope folks have the right expectations for him. He’s a good role player on a strong team. Definitely can’t be a 1st or 2nd option scoring, and honestly maybe not even 3rd.
