2024-25 Clown Team Thread

Yeah, it isn't like Hurley suddenly became some basketball mastermind after basking in mediocrity for his first dozen years as a head coach, averaging almost 13 losses a year. Perfect storm came along and he caught lightning in a bottle for a sweet 2 year run.
UCONN still has some very good players. Obviously, they didn’t lose 3 in row the past two seasons, but they had hick ups on the way to both titles. I would wager that they get things figured out and are a top 10 squad by the tourney.

IDK about top 10, but they still have plenty of talent. Dayton is good. Not so sure about Memphis and Colorado.

Hurley is a good coach and they will figure it out but he had favorables draws that helped.

I’m happy. We just beat 14 ranked Indiana and West Virginia who beat Gonzaga, and now we’re going to the championship for the battle of Atlantis. 5-1. We’ve won more games than Kenny Payne Bad did in his first 33 games. Pat Kelsey was a solid hire.

By the way RU did lose that game . But gave Bama a great game and Dylan harper had 37 and was tremendous.

Bumping this to the top so it's not hard to find. I have a feeling we're going to need this one today.

Great coneback by Kansas, they brought a 24 point deficit down to 2, sided by Missouri thinking they could stop scoring and win the game, but it looks liie the comeback is gonna fall short and now there's a court storming.

Kansas is today's first clown team. Congrats Jayhawk Nation.

In the SEC, you better win your home games, because there won't be many road wins.

It’s really tough to say how good Mizzou is, they haven't played anyone until today. They had to make a furious comeback at home to beat Cal… .California that is.

KU did a lot to beat themselves today and they got beat badly at Creighton earlier this week, so I think they have some issues right now, but nevertheless, they're still good and Missouri has some dudes.

I'm not sure a road loss to a pretty good team playing their Super Bowl is clown team worthy.

Did you meant to quote Jeff? 😆

So you're saying Missouri is a horrible team? Based on what?
Meant to quote you sir.

Since this is Missouri’s “Super Bowl”, why even play the rest of the season? Same thing I tell those Kentucky fans on Rupp Rafters- personally think that’s a cop-out.

For the record, Kansas is a top 25 team with all that talent.

If you think that playing KU is just like any other game to Missouri, you know nothing about them. Lol.

lol- yes, Tamar Bates, who started his career at IU, has a deep hatred for Kansas lol.

I’m pretty sure you think the college kids care the same amount like the fans do.

Bates is from KC, and the first thing he talked about post-game was how much more it meant to win vs KU. Lol.

Even if the whole team played in Mexico last year, they'd have been fired up. Players know their programs' history and take cues from the fanbase and coaches. Plus, there was that #1 next to their name, which usually fires teams up a bit.

By your logic, Louisville hosting Kentucky is just another game, unless the current players have an intense hatred for each other.

Fair points, I would be a hypocrite if I didn’t say that. Meant with NIL and transfers, my belief is 1 year new transfers don’t appreciate rivalries like coaches or fans.

It's a dumb thing to say, winning the Super Bowl is still preferred to getting your ass kicked in the Super Bowl. 😄

Watching that one, I was going to give Mempiss a chance before I threw their name out there. It’s not looking good for the Tigers.
Arky State up by 10 with 15 mins to go

I thought Cal cornered the market on winning big games, then following them up with losses to mid major's at home.

Turns out, it's something in the water at Memphis.

Why are people talking like Memphis had expectations? They didn’t even get votes in the preseason poll. 😆
