****Official B1G In-Season Thread****

Galloway would go to the bench but he’d still be getting a ton of minutes. He plays well against Purdue because they don’t seem overly interested in making opposing offenses uncomfortable. Galloway has been a ton better this year, but you can still speed him up and force him into turnovers pretty easily. IU has adjusted really well to not having XJ. It’s been adjustments out of necessity. But to say they’re better because he got injured is just blatantly inaccurate. Not saying you’re saying that here, but that’s been the take from multiple people today and it’s really fücking dumb
Well that ends that argument 😂

Who would've been relegated to the bench, kopp or Galloway? You don't beat Purdue without those guys draining threes. IMHO, IU has played better without XJ.
It wouldn't have really impacted either Kopp or Galloway. Kopp has started every game. Galloway would spell both JHS and XJ.---Galloway would have eaten up Bates minutes----as he(Bates) is only getting time due to the XJ injury. Now is Trey getting 26mpg if X isn't injured? Doubtful---but then again, who knows. JHS may not be getting or HAVING to play 33mpg either.

As for the three's----lets not forget X shot 40% from three last year, and was shooting 37% this year before being injured. Quite capable shooter.

Galloway was getting 20+ a game BEFORE XJ was hurt....

Played 25 vs Arizona
Played 28 vs UNC
PLayed 31 vs Rutgers(JHS out though).

His time would not be that impacted. MOF X being available would help get JHS rest, not "forcing" to play a freshman 36mpg over the past 4-5 games.

Indiana would not only be a better team with X, but a much deeper, and rested team.

For those thinking losing your senior starting PG, who was a preseason 2nd team All-conference guy, makes you better....

Go watch tennis.

Technically he was 38.3% from 3 last year, but your point is taken.

Might have forced Tamar fvcking Bates to transfer mid season so yes it's hurt IU in the long run.

Michigan to win the conference outright in 2024. You heard it here first.

Kopp, Galloway, and JHS played 36, 38, and 40 minutes respectively against Purdue. Bates played 10. You really only going to play XJ 10 minutes? Like I said, he would eat into Kopp & Galloway's minutes for sure, and they (Galloway especially) have been playing very well.

It sounds like XJ will be back on the court Sunday @ home vs. Meechigan.

It's not purely plug and play. He would eat up a little bit of everyone's minutes. Those 3 playing that many minutes isn't sustainable. XJ was our starting PG and a pretty good on ball defender, it's not like it's a bad thing for him to get some minutes coming back in.

The Naismith DPOY finalists have been announced. I'm guessing this is 4 members of the all defensive team. Not sure who the 5th would be.

Zach Edey (Purdue)
Chase Audige (Northwestern)

Moussa Cisse (Oklahoma State)
Jaylen Clark (UCLA)
Trayce Jackson-Davis (Indinia)
Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton)
Caleb McConnell (Rutgers)
Kevin McCullar Jr (Kansas)
Marcus Sasser (Houston)
Zakei Zeigler (Tennessee)

They’ll just give the fifth spot to the entire iowa team for their spirited effort on that side of the floor
