****Official B1G In-Season Thread****

Oh good, I've missed this thread advancing several pages in just a few minutes.
I’ll save you time so you don’t have to read it. It’s just this:

spider-man-meme

Officials are not getting reprimanded for A missed call....But that many? Yep.

JHS missed call was terrible. ANd it was dude to bad positioning, and TBH, Scirotto swallowing his whistle. That's an easy, easy call.
There were many, but I was specifically pointing to the missed Trey shove that cost us a very good chance to win.

Both the wins NW had that week against Purdue and IU were wildly officiated. Pretty clear home cooking because the refs were intimidated by a bunch of nerds in purple screaming profanities in a small arena. Sad!
There were more IU fans there than NU fans, there always are. It was an officiating abortion. i can't speak to the pu game, but they whine so damned much about officiating that you stop listening.

Then you never paid attention. Go do a search of

Courstsense
Courtsensetwo
Courty
Courtdense
Courtstench
Lack of courtsense
and several others

i stopped posting there in 2015.

Thousands of enraged posts about me over the past decade. I love my followers. I tell alot of truth and touch a lot of nerves

I was at the game. It was about even in fans from my perspective, but the way NW set up their new arena ensures it’ll be very loud for their fans. They have their student sections behind both baskets, so that’ll be what’s heard on the court.

Losing Xavier was kind of a blessing in that it expedited JHS's development.
This nuanced thinking is lost on some. X on his best day was a bit of a plus but the idea he was an All Big performer is ludicrous. He was a net negative in a lot of games because of his lack of control. Much better to hand the load to JHS. Hell I hope they bring him back as it makes them easier to beat imo.

Who called him an all big performer? They’re a better team with XJ. Without him, they’re susceptible to struggle against teams with athletic guards who have any semblance of a press. I guarantee Iowa’s shitty press gives them at least a little bit of trouble tomorrow night. Maryland gave them fits all night for that reason too. XJ does play out of control too much, but he’s still a capable ball handler and above average on ball defender who immediately mitigates two glaring holes in IU’s team.

JHS was going to have a high usage whether or not XJ was playing for this team. He did need to get his feet under him in conference play, but it’s not as if he was coming into college raw. This was a very developed player who had just played at the best high school basketball team in the country. And I’ll reiterate this again, he’s an nba player playing for an nba coach. Woodson knows that JHS’s usage needed to be high for this team to hit its ceiling.

I won't say he didn't have control issues but he avg less than 3 turnovers a game this year. That was exaggerated by two with 6 and 7. He also avg 5 ast and was shooting 37% from 3. Point is we are thin on guards and XJ would have helped that.

Anyone with this “XJ would make IU worse if he never broke his foot” take either is forgetting how good he was down the stretch last year or just hasn’t watched IU play this year many times.

I will say that there’s some speculation that he might sit out the rest of the year in an attempt to get another year of eligibility next year. If he’s truly not doing contact in practice yet, I wouldn’t blame them for shutting him down. It sucks, he’s in an unenviable situation. Missing this much time and then having to reintegrate yourself into the team in March is a steep hill to climb.

His athleticism is a big part of his game. Without that being 100% I don't see him being out there.

That's interesting. I'll take your word as a person in that field over Neubert or some known Purdue homer that routinely cries about the refs when they lose.
Its common, tbh....Just not always made public. But in today's society of whining, well.....

I gt upset with shit calls....Pisses me off. But I'll never blame the officials for losing a game.

Michigan is about to miss the tournament I have to be selective
🤣 .......Well done.

Not so sure just yet. Win your last two, and I'd say UM is in---right? Or go 1-1, win a game in BTT---in?

Edit----Did not realize you guys were 11-7. At 1-1 over next two, don't see a 12-8 B10 team, getting left out. Now lose out, and maybe. But a winning record in a tough ass conference---I dunno man.

I think we’d be in if we win one of the next two. I don’t expect to win one of the next two.

You think he’d have a good case to come back next year?

He is out of eligibility....Not sure if hes even eligible for a medical RS, or not. Rule is you cannot playin more than 30% of your teams games. He played in 11 games. So IU would need to play in FF for him to be eligible....I think

Michigan is the only big ten program to make multiple final four appearances, multiple cfp appearances and multiple frozen four appearances in the last decade. Unfortunately zero national championships to show for. 😭

I’m not really sure. As Borden was saying, he’ll likely be over the threshold for games played, but the idea that he could get a waiver is definitely in the ether. Rob Dauster specifically mentioned it as a possibility on yesterdays Field of 68 pod, and I don’t think he frames the discussion around XJ’s potential return this season if that’s something that isn’t possible.

He’d also be pretty plugged in on the topic because I know he talked to Xavier when they were in Bloomington a few weeks ago for the Illinois game. It wouldn’t shock me honestly if they put out feelers to the ncaa to get a sense of how they would rule on a waiver. Knowing how XJ operates, he’d probably be demanding to play if this is truly his last bit of eligibility.

It’s not really a blessing. This team is still missing another competent ball handler and a goos on ball defender. That’s the role XJ would have played. I don’t think this argument that it would stifle JHS’s development holds water because they were both playing starters minutes and sharing lead guard responsibilities. It’s not as if JHS would be relegated to some bench role if XJ didn’t get hurt
Who would've been relegated to the bench, kopp or Galloway? You don't beat Purdue without those guys draining threes. IMHO, IU has played better without XJ.

Making up stuff again? Doesn’t get chanted at all sporting events big guy. Hasn’t been at basketball games for years. But why bring facts into the equation when you can lie?
We stopped saying "IU sucks" and playing hailfire years ago (apparently "sucks is offensive), meanwhile IU fans keep saying "fück you _____" and making fun of special needs sisters.

We need to see visual proof of these accusations to laugh at the Purdue posters
While we are waiting for clown to post the proof can we add the proof IU will pony up 3 million in NIL and that there were more IU fans at NW than NW fans? Typical Clownsense bullshit.

Galloway would go to the bench but he’d still be getting a ton of minutes. He plays well against Purdue because they don’t seem overly interested in making opposing offenses uncomfortable. Galloway has been a ton better this year, but you can still speed him up and force him into turnovers pretty easily. IU has adjusted really well to not having XJ. It’s been adjustments out of necessity. But to say they’re better because he got injured is just blatantly inaccurate. Not saying you’re saying that here, but that’s been the take from multiple people today and it’s really fücking dumb
