I believe my analogy from a few years ago on this board summed it up well.
Kansas got caught stealing candy bars while Kentucky got caught stealing Bentley’s.

The significance of this meeting is how seemingly insignificant it was. It was dinner; a good dinner, but not some glitzy wining and dining. There is no evidence of bags of cash or new cars or anything you might see in a movie. There is no suggestion Pina was steering Adebayo to any school (he was uncommitted at the time but later attended the University of Kentucky for the 2016-17 season before becoming a first-round draft pick of the Miami Heat). Adebayo never even signed with ASM.
The report details the dinner:
At the Melting Pot that night, the three, according to the documents, would order three of the limited edition “Summer Seafood Catch Entree,” adding four extra “succulent” crab claws. Someone had a cranberry juice. The bill came to $89.68, and at 9:43 p.m. Pina felt their server, Abbie, had done her job well enough to merit a tip of $18, or just over 20 percent.

Where's the reach, btw? A document seized by the FBI shows a $30k "bad loan" to Bam. Are you saying it's reaching to assume that Bam was paid 30 grand?
It's been document as bad load (on their stuff labeled BAM), UK was never tied to what anyone might have gave him in HS. It clearly wasn't on any wire taps. Maybe the NCAA can figure it out and put it to rest for you, but nothing is tied to UK. Unlike some other schools, hence the lashing out deflections.
And just so we're clear... never say 30k dinner? That's White House level shit.
I hate going in circles, so again, I hope KU does fine with the NCAA. I have zero doubt UK, Duke, UNC and IU will not be brought up at all.

it says "bad loan" with Bam's name beside it
at no point does it state he received the money
it could have been a AAU coach a H.S. coach you have no idea who received the alleged money
you can assume anything
we all can assume that every coach, the AD, and the president at KU knew what was going on
