As conferences continue to expand, will that spell the end of the necessity for conference tournaments?

your closet, most likely......
If major basketball conferences continue to be at the mercy of decision-making based solely on what's best for CFB because the people "in charge" are f***ing idiots, and we truly haven't seen the last wave of expansion, then will that start to make these major conferences rethink the necessity for having a conference tournament before the NCAA Tournament?

An 18 team B10 tournament next year, a week before the NCAA tournament, is already gonna be bloated enough. What happens when conferences go to 20, 22 or even 24 teams?

Should the remaining major conferences still hold tournaments to crown an "official" automatic qualifier for the NCAA Tournament?

And if so, what should/will those tournaments look like? Should they include every team? Should they put a cap on the number of teams?

What I want to know is how the B1G is going to schedule all the other sports regarding conference standings ect. Is volleyball, swimming and baseball going to go back and forth across the country every week?

More than likely they'll do pod scheduling for the smaller revenue sports, and stay in a certain region for an extended period of time.

For example, Oregon may have games at Rutgers and then stay east and play Maryland and even Penn State, before heading back home.

Conferences with 15 or more teams should have a tourney with only the top 8 teams from the regular season. Makes the regular season more important. If a team can't win enough over the course of the season to be in the top 8 they don't deserve a chance to have a hot night and bump off a better team.
