Couldn’t get them out of their game. Our team is not built for slow grind it out games at this point.

Why? Definitively proved we belong in the national conversation early in the season. Evident the amount of talent up and down the roster. Losing to a top 5 defense isn’t anything to sniff at.
Only thing I learned is that Illinois has a very, very good chance at making a deep tourney run and there’s not a big ten team that has a better chance at it.

You guys are a rough matchup for us at the moment. This teams halfcourt offense has very little polish at the moment.
Really surprised Underwood didn’t make more of an attempt to try and speed you guys up.

Baylor tried to speed Virginia up and that led to Virginia going on a big run. That’s what’s so annoying about these vintage UVA teams. You can give up an 8-0 run quick on turnovers and now you’re stuck slowing it down and playing UVA’s game but now down 8 more points.
They are going to throttle us.
A bit of coping in this comment, but Illinois will be a top 3 Big Ten. I think they’re going to struggle against teams with size and teams who take care of the basketball. Need more backcourt production when Shannon isn’t going nuclear.
No way, I think we’re all very optimistic after this weekend. Losses happen, especially to teams as good as UVA. Also happy for them after the week they had.

We weren’t going to win playing that style against them, gave up an 11-0 run even with the snails pace.
Our backcourt is two freshman that both showed ability in spurts. All of these new pieces are still figuring out how to play together. Minimal level of concern after beating a top 10 veteran UCLA squad and playing neck and neck with a soon to be top 10 veteran Virginia squad.
There are 7-8 guys that can score 15+ any given night on this team once Goode returns, and they’re all completely different types weapons. Not really sure why you maintain this narrative.
We may very well get cold and bow out in the round of 32 this year, but it won’t be because we are 1-dimensional on offense and defense.
Michigan may also finish in the bottom half of the Big Ten for the third year in fourth of Juwan’s tenure. In which case, he’ll need a flukey S16 appearance to hide that the culture of winning built by Bielien has slowly eroded with time.
