8th Annual College Basketball Draft

I have no idea who the last two guys picked are.
Same, which is why I don’t see as much of a problem with speeding up the clock. It’s less and less likely that the guy that someone wants will be taken anyway if they’re skipped. Earlier rounds it’s a lot worse if that happens.

Learn Ball Boilerzz. Get out of Indiana
Haven't lived in Indiana in 29 years. And I could name a hell of a lot of basketball players. And I have no interest in drafting a guy who had 4 points against the only P5 team he played last year.

I have no idea who the last two guys picked are.

Get to know Egor Demin. Unique talent. I haven't seen him in a game yet, but he definitely pops on tape. Very likely a future 1st rounder. Illinois was recruiting him before Kasparas Jakucionis. Illinois cooled off a bit once they found KJ. Either they figured they wouldn't win a bidding war with BYU, or they thought Jakucionis was the better prospect. Both are super talented.

I think we might do 12 hours for the last 2 rounds.

What you said makes a lot of sense. At this stage, we're not even going for the same guys. So, being skipped shouldn't be a big loss. People are always free to send me a top 5-8 list, too.

I would but you'd be like; "Ah damn dude, I forgot about that guy. He's a stud. I'm going to draft him next. And that dude, wow, amazing that he's not been drafted yet. I'm 'bout to take his ass next round too!"

Sounds about right lol

Is Jimbo’s clock up?

I’m going

Brooks Barnhizer, Northwestern
Jonas Aidoo, Arkansas

Back to @JimboBBN

I know Barnhizer was in a boot, but seems to be a good value.

Damnit, I was really hoping he'd get back to me. Decent chance he's A10 POY in the 10th round.

His floor is pretty high. He was 1st Team All Conference last year. Saint Louis and VCU are better teams, though, so probably not as likely to win POY as Avila or Shulga.

I’ll go Homer on this one. RJ Davis can’t do it alone and I think he could have a pretty big year as a probable starter.

Seth Trimble, UNC

@Necessary Roughness you’re up.

He looked really good in the Memphis exhibition. I could see him averaging 15+ ppg.

I'll be a double homer. This guy could be a 20pt a night guy this year. We shall see.

Darrion Williams, Texas Tech

@WeAreDePaul is up next.

He was on my short list of players. I like him.

I know Barnhizer was in a boot, but seems to be a good value.
I thought I was going to be carried out of the arena on people’s shoulders to the sound of cheers and praise for these picks. I fully expected several comments from people that they had earmarked these guys for much earlier but had forgotten.

Instead, these were the two quietest picks of the draft. Is that from a place of fear by my fellow draftees? Maybe. It hurt the nonetheless.

I wasn't taking Aidoo because I watched him wilt while playing Zach Edey to the extent he was benched and didn't return (@della remembers). I'm pretty sure he had to go to therapy after that game.

Barnhizer went to my high school so I know him well. He's crafty and has a shot at an All Big Ten team but I'm just not sure the upside is there for him to do much more. I expect NW to drop off this year now that Boo Buie has completed his 19th year of eligibility and I don't think Barnhizer and Ty Berry are enough to propel them to the dance.

Barnhizer made the All-Defensive team and he made 3rd Team All-Conference. He's got a decent floor. Just not sure what Northwestern is going to look like w/o Boo Buie and Langborg. If they find themselves in the top half of the league, then I would like Barnhizer for 2nd Team All-Conference.

Mixed feelings on Aidoo. He's talented. I think he's good enough to make an all-conference team. But, I feel like Arkansas is going to be very a guard-dominant team. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the 4th option for Arkansas.

tell us you have @della on ignore without telling us you have @della on ignore.

If Aidoo does anything we win that game.

Okay, we're now in Round 11. The clock is being reduced to 12 hours. Email me a short list if you're worried you might be skipped over.

Damnit @IUfanBorden! I gave you multiple opportunities. And you now give me no choice. After his performance in the exhibition, it's pretty clear that he is your 2nd best player (maybe 1st) and a likely All Big Ten performer. So that's who I'm taking.

Give me Myles...uh.....

Rice, Indiana.

@WeAreDePaul and @IUfanBorden are on the clock.

I'm willing to take him this round if you want to delete this message. He looked really good against Tennessee. I wouldn't at all be shocked if he's 1st Team All-Conference. He might actually have the highest ceiling on the team.
