7th Annual College Basketball Draft

Does Duckboy not have the authority to have me skip that many in line?

conan obrien and the survey says GIF by Team Coco

Sorry guys, I’m lost. The Media companies destroying the PAC did a number on me 😂

I’ll take a risk on Jahvon Quinerly, Memphis

@dukedevilz is up
He didn't work out for me last year coming off injury but I think it's a fairly low risk pick. He's got better than 50/50 odds to be 1st team all AAC IMO. With Houston gone, it's a FAU/Memphis show and a bunch of nobodies, especially with McCasland gone from North Texas.

Soriano has been taken. Why does everyone want to steal him from me???

Ajay Mitchell wouldn’t have made it that far. He was my likely selection this round.

That's fair. He's the reigning conference POY who's going to earn a lot of Win Shares.

I actually didn't take any true mid-majors last year. Had Fletcher Loyer from the A-10 and Jaelen House from the MWC (high mid-majors). I guess part of my issue is, if you're not getting a guy like Drew Pember or Ajay Mitchell, the difference between the next best true mid-major player and the 20th guy isn't that far off. That 20th guy can be taken in Round 11 or 12 - and his value should be reasonably close to the #4 or #5 mid-major superstar. I took Taevion Kinsey on my JV team last year and he was in the top 10 in the nation in Win Shares.

Just feels like we're about to see a lot of mid-major guys taken. They probably are more scarce now, as a great deal of them are transferring up. So, maybe they do deserve to be taken earlier.

Baldwin will put up nice numbers but Penn State will be so bad, there won’t be many win shares available and It’s rare that a team that bad gets a 1st teamer.

Yeah, thought about Ace Baldwin, as well. But, not a fan of their roster. Seems like a team that might win 10-13 games. Who knows, though? Maybe Hubert Davis was holding back on Puff Johnson and D'Marco Dunn and they're ready for breakout seasons.

Yeah, both are tough. I struck gold on mid majors last year which is why I was on the podium. I don’t think I’ll ever be that fortunate mining mid majors again.

Yeah, you had yourself a nice team of mid-major superstars. Jelly Walker, Antoine Davis, Aaron Estrada, and Drew Pember. Would be hard for anyone to replicate that. The nice thing about mid-major players is you can generally count on them not completely bombing.

Obviously the downside is their ceiling is greatly limited. So few of them are legitimate candidates for even HM All-American - and most will only get 2 points for 1st Team All-Conference. Might be worth the gamble sometimes.

Here are the 3 different top 100 lists.

West Virginia's RaeQuan Battle (#82 by 247 and #87 by The Almanac) was denied a waiver yesterday. West Virginia will appeal, but it's likely he won't be able to play this season.

That sucks for him and WV. Total BS by the NCAA.

It's going to drastically hurt West Virginia. The frustrating part with these waivers is there's no consistency as far as who's granted a waiver and who's denied one.

Guard depth for WVU is already limited, and now they'll be waiting on another waiver in Noah Farrakhan (via Eastern Michigan). If he's denied a waiver, which is a strong possibility, West Virginia will only have 4 available guards. Kerr Kriisa would be the lone guard that averaged more than 15 minutes a game from the prior season. Kriisa-Edwards is a nice duo, but not sure who else they can reasonably rely on for production. They'll struggle to make the tournament, IMO. Losing RaeQuan Battle completely changes the trajectory for WVU.

Terrible. And they are already in bad shape going into this season with the whole Huggins fiasco. Going to be a long road for them.

Unfortunate, to say the least. Jose Perez and Tre Mitchell left the program after that. And they don't have any commits from the 2024 class, either. Understandably you wouldn't expect anyone to commit until a head coach has been named.

They're going to need to hit the portal stronger than ever next spring, or they could very easily have back-to-back lackluster years.
