7th Annual College Basketball Draft

DJ Wagner will be the best freshman on Kentucky’s roster.

You like him more than Justin Edwards? Can he consistently make a jump shot? Okay, I'm ears. Sell me on Wagner.

I think he's going to thrive under Tommy Loyd. Let's revisit this thread at the end of the season

Sometimes a change of environment can do wonders for a kid. Guess Caleb Love seems like a broken record to many. Super talented, but doesn't no how to restrain that trigger-happy shooting hand. He takes bad shots - and he often takes them early in the shot clock.

Wouldn't at all be surprised if he leads the Pac-12 in scoring. But, will he be efficient? He'll be interesting to follow. One of the most enigmatic players I've ever seen in college basketball. UNC wins the title game if he doesn't play against KU. He shot them out of the game... but at the same time, UNC doesn't beat UCLA or Duke without him.

Thank you for your selections gentlemen! You did not snipe my pick and I appreciate it.

With the 50th pick in the 2023 Rival draft, @boilerzz selects…..Isaiah Stevens, Colorado State Rams.

Getting the preseason Mountain West POY and a guy who averaged 18 points and 7 assists this late? Yep, I’ll take it. Dude was hurt part of last year and still was 1st team MWC. The team will be better and the 5th year senior will flourish!

@FaithPlusOne is on the clock.

Degenhart is going to win POY but you got a good second option in the event he gets injured. 😉

Small sample size but… Edwards is a bit too passive and floats on the perimeter. Wagner will be the leader of the offense and orchestrate everything. He shot 37.5% from 3 in Canada. He shoots it well enough to keep everyone honest, and he’s quick and big enough to go finish at the rim. Throw in the fact that UK actually has a few shooters this year and Wagner’s assist numbers should be good. This is the first elite PG Calipari has had since De’aron Fox. He should absolutely thrive in Calipari’s system.

Solid pick. He was on my list of top 5 available players. Colorado State should have some absolute shootouts this year. I could see them having a top 25 offense, and a sub 100 defense. Great candidate for MWC POY.

I want to say Isaiah Stevens is only the second player that's ever been taken 4 times in the draft. I'll have to look at the records, but I'm thinking Stevens and Jalen Pickett.

I'm seeing 6/18 from three over 4 games (33.3%) in the Global Jam. He's not known as a shooter, so I'll say if he can maintain a percentage around there, he should be a very valuable player.

I’m going big time homer on this one, but it’s outside the top 50 so I’d probably mess it up either way. Caleb Love is no longer going to be taking 20 shots a game and I doubt RJ Davis and Bacot suck up too much of them.

Elliot Cadeau, UNC.

@lurkeraspect84, you’re on the clock.

I’m guessing he misses the exhibitions and the game against whatever directional state they open with.
Kid should have just left, and lots of trouble avoided. Not sure what will be done. My guess is same as yours. No reason to jump ovrboard here---but its certainly a red flag

The AP preseason All-American team was announced earlier today. The first 5 guys taken in the draft make up that All-American team. Nicely done.

Going to be great when Kalkbrenner takes one of those slots. I'm guessing it will be Bacot.
