7th Annual College Basketball Draft

It's how I exercise power over the rest of you.
This you in Vegas?

Were you eyeing him?

Not sure the full criteria of winning this or how it's scored.

But I like my squad

Bigs - Adem Bona, Nordhad Omier, Eric Dixon, Grant Nelson

Wings - Cody Williams, Terrance Shannon, Kevin McCullar

Guards - Wade Taylor, RayJ Dennis, Jameer Nelson Jr

Grant Nelson - alabama

Good pick. Think he has a chance to be Bama's best player. Very skilled and athletic.

I wonder what it was like for other teams to face two 6'10 white guys that don't hesitate to posterize you. North Dakota State had quite a dynamic dunking duo there.

He was definitely my next pick. I've seen a couple of people that think he could be 1st team all SEC. I think he's 2nd team at worst.

Really like your Nelson and Dennis picks.

I have no mid majors guys, I really just don't know anything about them. So I shot for those guys

Final proxy pick for @lurkeraspect84

Aaron Estrada, Alabama

CAA DPOY the last 2 seasons and preseason POY. Mid major talent is pretty iffy this year but this guy should give me some guaranteed points to help round it all out.

@boilerzz you’re on the clock.

Damn, you all done fvcked around and made me do it. I'm really going to have an all Duke backcourt. Jeremy Roach looks like a 2nd team All ACC guy to me, especially after he averaged 16 points and shooting 39% from three the 2nd half of last year. He had a painfully slow start to his season against good teams. I think it took him a bit to adjust to playing alongside Tyrese Procter. But when he did, he played well.

Like my draft so far even with a few of my targets getting sniped.

Ryan Kalkbrenner - Likely 1st/2nd team AA and conference and maybe national DPOY
Tyrese Procter - A little risky but has AA upside and should be 2nd team all ACC at worst
Boogie Ellis - Love this pick. Think he can be PAC12 POY and likely 1st team all conference. Could easily be AA
Tyson Walker - 1st team All B1G almost certainly and AA potential
Isaiah Stevens - Odds on favorite for MW POY IMO.
Drew Pember - Big South POY and maybe HM AA
Alijah Martin - 1st team all AAC and win share dog
Emanuel Miller - Preseason 1st team All B12
Kam Jones - Leading scorer from top 5 team. 1st/2nd team all conference and win share dog
Jeremy Roach - Risky pick with upside. Played well the 2nd half of last year. I think one of him or Procter ends up 1st team all conference and the other is likely 2nd team

6 of my 10 guys so far are on preseason top 10 teams. They should rack up some good win shares.

Jesse Edwards 'bout to get 40 shots a game. Kriisa is suspended for the first 9 games. Farrakhan isn't eligible. Battle was denied a waiver. Akok collapsed on the court last week; who knows if he'll be able to play anytime this season? They obviously lost Huggins... and Tre Mitchell and Jose Perez to the portal right after Huggy Bear left. Going to be a rough year for West Virginia, IMO.

Jesse Edwards is a stud. But wow, this could be a rough season for WVU. Wouldn't be surprised if they finished 13th or 14th in the league.

Geez, the hits keep coming.

@GE Nole is still on the clock for 3 more hours. We have 27 picks left and 5 days until the season starts. Every time we get a few picks in short order, we have someone that takes the entire 24 hours. Not sure we make it at this rate.

We do need to wrap this up. And we are behind schedule.

At the beginning of Round 11, the clock will be reduced from 24 hours to 12. Feel free to send in top 5/10 lists to dukedevilz@yahoo.com.

If we still have 10 or so picks left on Saturday, I'll ask everyone to send in their top 5/10 players before midnight (Saturday night/Sunday morning).

Sorry, didn’t see any tag until this one.

I’ll go full Homer this round and take Jamir Watkins, FSU.

I think 12 hours might be a bit too long, honestly. At this point the player pool is significantly larger than the slots left. Losing the 8th pick of the draft is much more damaging than the 128th pick. It’s less likely that the person skipping you will be taking the pick you wanted. Just MO.

I believe that puts @duckboy33 up? Is that right, @dukedevilz ?

You are correct. @duckboy33 is now up.

I believe there's some truth to this. We're likely thinking of different players at this point.

But I'll tell ya, there were A LOT of guys taken in Round 9 that I wanted. I wouldn't want to get skipped over, with say a 6-8 hour clock, and have someone take Wooga Poplar, Kam Jones, or Branden Carlson. 12 hours allows for someone not to worry about getting skipped while they sleep at night, drive to work, get settled in, etc.

If the rate doesn't pick up much for Round 11, I might reduce the clock to 8 hours for the final Round. It's very possible some will have to send in a list for the last round. It will be close.

just think of all the damage that will be done if this isn't completed before the first of 50,000 games this year in our free fantasy league.

Not going to allow that to happen. You could just scour the box scores on opening night looking for 30-point scorers and guys who fill up a box score.

If picks aren't made, I'll make them for you. It would be based off the composite top 100 rankings.

Might actually benefit me at this point to have one or two of those picks instead of my own. At this point I’m shooting more in the dark than most years.
