UM vs UofL not getting any love

Not a good series there. Down 11 with the ball. Miss a 4 footer on one end and give up a 3 point play on the other.

Michigan ran into a fresh good defense tonight. I’m impressed with Louisville.

Seems Michigan can only shoot in that Bahamas gym. We're seeing why they weren't ranked to start the season.
Louisville is throwing some good D at them, but they really don't have much of an offensive game plan. If threes aren't going down, they're toast.

One bad game on the road against the number one team in the country and now the only offense we have is threes in the Bahamas lol. Great analysis.

Not saying Louisville isn't good, but you keep saying #1 as if it means something. They're there by default. This is their first test.

I laughed.

Why are you getting so offended Hail? It's not hard to believe that Michigan just got scolding hot in the Bahamas then came back down to earth.
I think they're still going to be a really good team, but they ran into some length and decent defense and they got a little exposed.

We're going to find out if Howard can coach.

I still think Michigan has 0 transition points.

I thought Louisville did two things great:
-Took away transition looks
-Hedged and helped on the pick and roll

Without Michigan getting anything from that and it would take a great shooting night to hang and that didn’t happen.

Louisville played a B level game and dominated. Not sure if they’re a little overrated or that good. UM is most definitely not #4.

Their traping and hedging was the difference IMO. That and UM couldn't hit the broad side of a barn...even on open looks.

It’s just a surface level breakdown that only someone who missed the Bahama games would say. Zavier Simpson put on a pick and roll clinic against Gonzaga. Against UNC we probably scored 20 points in transition.

We have other ways to score than getting hot from three, Louisville just did a great job taking those things away.

Honestly, Michigan was never out of it. Louisville never ran away from them.
If UM could have gone on another run, they could have stolen this one, but they never could get anything going on O.

And those teams you mentioned (Gonzaga and UNC) are offensive minded teams, they didn't hit UM with a stiff defense. There's your difference.
UM got whatever they wanted against Gonzaga and UNC, they got nothing easy tonight.
Matchups matter.

This Michigan team likes to get out and run. They ran Gonzaga off the court despite playing its third game in three days. I can’t stress enough how good Louisville did at preventing transition points.

That is the best defensive performance I’ve seen in a long time. Especially against a red hot 3pt shooting team in Michigan.

Amazing job even when some shots weren’t falling that normally do.

I agree and I think that's something that UM is going to struggle with this year. Defensive minded teams with length.

Yup same as last year against Texas tech. We don’t have a guy like Norwa that can score at three levels so when our easy buckets and pick and roll gets shut down we will struggle.
