your closet, most likely......
Haven't taken the time to do one of these before, but let's be honest, the CFB mass realignment that has forced everyone else to have to change conferences with their football teams "cuz muh want moar munee" was/is/and will continue to be until people/morons come to their senses and let CFB do their own f***ing thing..............one of the dumbest f***ing decisions in sports history.

At no point will there be any positive reason for the Washington basketball team to have to f***ing travel to Piscataway, New Jersey on a Wednesday night for a conference game. The money is. not. worth. it.

Never was. It still isn't now. And it won't be when these teams finally do make the jump to the conferences they decided to move to. 16, 18, 20 team basketball conferences is just f***ing ridiculous. And it gets even worse from there when you start talking about other sports, the non-revenue sports.

It's straight asinine, and arguing otherwise is a futile exercise so don't bother. Tell me about money, f*** your money. Take that money and give it to the football player your favorite team is trying to bring in "through NIL" so they can drive their new Mercedes around campus for the one year they'll be there before transferring or going pro. F*** outta here with your money. Please.............

So let's pretend people aren't stupid, and they decide to let College basketball do their own thing as well, like CFB, and they get someone in charge (your old pal Evil Monkey) who will realign conferences in a geographical and logical way that makes sense and honors some of the long-standing regional rivalries amongst these schools, while also keeping enough space so that we can still have all these marquee OOC matchups, and hell maybe even gain more of them.

So without further ado, here is the ultimate dream CBB conference realignment starting with the major conferences/teams:

The NCAA does not represent all those conferences. The NCAA takes money from those big conferences and subsidizes the small leagues. Their rulings are biased and favor a few schools.

The four big conferences need to tell the NCAA to take a hike and take the money that they give the NCAA and build the infrastructure for them to police themselves.

At the same time that new infrastructure will not allow teams like UNC to have students that never go to school and still let them keep their titles.

I hope that before I die the NCAA is shoveled into the trash bin of history.

By the way the team line up suggested sucks. The SEC is the only conference that is still named properly. It is the South East Conference. Maybe the SEC adds Virginia Tech, West Virginia and maybe North Carolina State and they would still be the SEC.

You'll take your 11-team SEC and 20-game conference schedule and f***ing like it.

I am also open to name suggestions for other conferences. :)

The SEC can control its own destiny. They bring in the big bucks.

Now on to these other conferences that you are trying to set up:

What is the travel budget going to be for some of these new conferences? What does it cost for the California football team to travel to Clemson for a game that no one is interested in? GEEZE how close is the transportation budget going to be to the ticket and TV revenue on ACC network? I suppose that they could put the equipment on a couple trucks on Sunday and send it to the east for a Saturday game. That would only cost a few thousand dollars to play a game on regional TV. Then you have to move the equipment back west. I hope the TV revenue covers the travel cost.

The ACC ain't that strong top to bottom in football and then on top of that you add the thousands of miles traveled just to play a football game. Plus, where in hell is Notre Dame going to do? Will the ACC drop their asses in basketball, or will Notre Dame have to share the football wealth with the ACC? Plus, will NBC still carry the worthless Notre Dame football network knowing full well that Notre Dame ain’t won shit in football since the playoff games started?

The ACC is screwed simply because they are trying to keep up with the rest of college sports. It has to be tempting for Florida State and Clemson to move to a football conference and tell the ACC to walk.

The Big Ten (whatever that means) is transcontinental now just like the ACC. Their travel expenses will be equal to the ACC. The Big 12 (whatever that means) is just a mess of also rans without any geographical reference.

Again, the only conference with grit, determination, history and following is the SEC.

The conferences above are the ones I'm trying to set up. Not the dumb sh** they're gonna start doing next year.

In all honesty though, name retooling aside, I would love for this to happen for the Big East teams and several former members. Hell even throw Notre Dame into that mix with the second conference to keep them in the Midwest with other mostly private schools, and rekindle that Marquette-Notre Dame rivalry.

Many of those teams are in a good conference now and I don't think that they would want to leave big money.
No, this is a forced change for better logic.

These school don't get to worry about money, in this case. They're being forced into these new, realigned conferences because it's the right thing to do, rather than what's gonna make the top teams more money while handing the rest of the teams paychecks/more losses.

You're welcome, America.

Conference and NCAA membership is a choice.
