Not a huge fan of this pick since he seems to struggle vs good teams and how he's moving to the best conference in the land, but I guess that's why they play the games.

We had a good start but have since slowed down a lot. What round do we go to a 12 hour clock?

@FaithPlusOne is up.
You sumbitches. Those were the two guys I had on the top of my board. I figured one of them would be available when it got back to me.

I'll go with Donovan Dent from New Mexico.

@IUfanBorden is on the clock.

Dent is going to have a monster year. Without House and Mashburn sharing the floor with him, I expect his usage rate to be around 30% and his assist rate to be close to 40%. He's one of the rare non-P5 players (not counting Gonzaga) that has a decent shot at making an All-American team.

I think he ends up conference POY over Degenhart.

I was debating between him and another Big Ten guy, so this will make my decision a little easier.

Bruce Thornton, Ohio State

Okay, I really got to stop picking Big Ten guys. That's three in a row for me. @JimboBBN is up.
Remember the name Gicarri Harris.

I'll go -

Pop Isaacs, Creighton
Tyrese Proctor, Duke

Isaacs could be hurt by Kalkbrenner's success and Proctor was already shit on a bunch in this thread, but I think the potential is still there. It was between Proctor and another underperforming ACC guard with a high ceiling, but I like Proctor's defensive accolade potential, too.

Thank you!!!! It was getting close to the point where I was going to do something stupid and you kept that from happening.

damn, all the guys I had on my short list are going...

Thornton
Goldin
Mahaney

But I'll tell you one bozo who wasn't on my short list. Proctor. How dumb you gotta be to draft that clown? @WojoRising

In your face @dukedevilz someone else wanted my pick

For Mahaney, though, and not Lanier. Mahaney is a solid pick. Has 1st Team All-Conference potential. Maybe I'm selling Lanier short. Just wouldn't expect anything to the level of Knecht.

Not a lot of ACC guys have been taken. Someone has to make the 1st Team. So, why not? I'll take...

Markus Burton, Notre Dame

@ThePhog08 is up again

I've heard some grumblings that Mahaney is unlikely to start.

I don't know what to think of Lanier. Obviously Barnes found lightning in a bottle with Knecht. And Lanier can shoot. But they don't play defense in the ASUN and I'm not sure the move up in class will be smooth.

Burton could be first team ACC if Shrews can get ND into the top 8. He's a great coach so it wouldn't surprise me.

is there a chance the ACC will fall below our league's threshold and they end up with their awards being worth less points?

The cutoff is 4 in the top 50. It looks like 1999 was the only time the ACC has had less than 5 and it was 4 so it's doubtful.

Highly unlikely. There are 18 teams. Feel like Duke, UNC, and Wake are locks. Just need one more team. Between UVA, Clemson, Louisville, Miami, Pitt, Syracuse, NC State, and SMU, I'd be shocked if there weren't 4 in the top 50

I wouldn't be shocked if Lanier misses the All-Conference teams altogether. Not sure he offers a whole lot outside of shooting.

ND came on late. And they have a lot of guys back. Definitely don't expect a top 5 ACC finish, but think his stats might be good enough to sneak onto the 1st Team.

Very interesting how 1 through 7 were neck and neck before the gap between 7 and 8 became rather enormous.
