***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

The Black Keys vinyls are a frequently played in my living room.
hell yes

I saw them like 3 times in college, then went in 2012 to see them at United Center (with Arctic Monkeys opening) and it was...f*cking abysmal. I attribute most of that to seeing a show at the UC, but I haven't seen them since and am really looking forward to it.

Nope, seeing the Growlers at the Boulder Theater, and saw the Allah Las at the Gothic in Denver.

My brother and I just bought Red Rocks tickets for the Black Keys for my parents as their anniversary present. I love their stuff up through Brothers, they've kinda sucked since. But it should be fun, and I think it'll be a show that the parents will enjoy. Especially if they play their older, more raw and blues-rock stuff.

Been to Red Rocks 3 or 4 times, and have realized you have to be a little picky with who you see there. I went to Mac Demarco there (who I recommend) and Beck, and both shows were not good b/c those folks didn't really have the sound for the place. When I saw Jurassic 5, it was a freaking blast. Think the black keys should do well there.

I believe you are getting Marcus King Band and Gary Clark Jr for that show at Red Rocks. They both are amazing live.

They both are at the very top of my list currently along with Tedeschi Trucks Band

Magic Potion is my favorite but any of those first 6 are pretty much gold. El Camino also has some gems, and then Turn Blue was where I fell off.

I want to go to that Black Keys / Gary Clark Jr show as well. Red rocks cannot be beat as far as venues go.

What else you been listening to? Just turned on Allah-Las and I'm liking the first song so far, a lot. Very retro lofi, trippy vibes

Yeah, I was freaking thrilled when I saw who was opening. Probably why tickets were over $200 a piece, but it was a present for the parents so whatever.

Will check out Tedeschi Trucks Band.

That's pretty much where I fall on their discography as well.

I've been listening to a bunch of Marcus King Band and Gary Clarke Jr since I bought those tickets. But Allah Las are probably my favorite band right now. Their self titled album is phenomenal imo. The songs "Long Journey" and "Busmans Holiday" are my favorites by them.

I listen to a good amount of the Growlers (Chinese Fountain is a good album to try) and Mac Demarco (Salad Days). Other bands that I like: Sugar Candy Mountain (666 is a very good album), the Murlocs, Whitney, Shakey Graves, and Bahamas. Bahamas / Shakey Graves have songs I love, but I can't really listen to their full albums.

Then some other stuff that everyone knows: Leon Bridges, Nathaniel Rateliff, Alabama Shakes, Black Keys, etc.

Gary Clark Jr live is incredible

That he is. Saw him open up for DMB in 2013 I believe and then I was supposed to see him in Reno but was down in Vegas when he was here in September. Both his live albums are fantastic.

I did get to see Leon Bridges here last year and he was damn good as well.

I have tickets for his July 7th show in the Seattle area.

I think there are components in favor of Purdue and components in favor of IU. I'd say it's pretty close and really depends on what the committee is looking for.

I think PU and IU should join forces next season. Call yourselves...Indiana University Purdue University of Indiana.... IUPUI. Yeah. I like it. Hopefully those losers in Indianapolis will rename themselves.

We listen to a lot of the same things. Dr. Dog is one of my favorites that you didn't list. I'd add in Wilco, Caamp, Dope Lemon, and the Avett Brothers too. A couple others that always make it into my mixes are John Prine and Colter Wall.

Rutgers isn’t a lock of they lose the next 2
they are a lock whether you like it or not. the BT was getting 10 teams into the NCAAT this year, right now its all about the seeding and nothing more.

Purdue needed to win just to keep their hopes alive for the NIT.

Franz, Livers, Brooks, Johns, and Davis are the only players I think that are safe.
Castleton seems to be a bit of a flop. Granted big men sometimes take longer to develop. But he looks pretty clueless at times.

You win one game and think we care about your recruiting.

;)

Nice pickup.
its the 1st step for Rutgers, there are a number of top players in NJ for them to land. in the 2021 class the #1 prospect SF Kumiga is from NJ.
#30 PF Patterson is from NJ
#49 C Sonogo is from NJ
just enough to make Rutgers a major power in DI BB.
