***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

its the 1st step for Rutgers, there are a number of top players in NJ for them to land. in the 2021 class the #1 prospect SF Kumiga is from NJ.
#30 PF Patterson is from NJ
#49 C Sonogo is from NJ
just enough to make Rutgers a major power in DI BB.

They have as much of a chance of going to Rutgers as they do Iowa.

Can't wait for the offseason thread to be made by someone else.
Same. Can't wait to block his stupidity.

Now accepting nominations for ***Official B1G Off-Season Thread*** official thread starter.

Qualifications:

Team season over
Not Gil

And go.

I’m guessing this will be a fight between other Iowa fans.

Painter going to see Kaufman play tonight. Looks like he’s going to try to get both guys. Interesting.

Yea because coaches never waste time on recruits.
Nice leap there. Never insisted time isn't wasted. But he's been recruiting those two forever, you'd think he have an idea of whether or not they don't mind playing together.

It’s his job to try and convince him. If he has one in the fold already before the high school season is over it makes sense to try and continue and recruit him.

Don't think Painter would waste his time seeing him if he didn't think it was likely.
So you’re telling us that Painter thinks it’s likely Kaufman is going to Purdue? Lol. Uh, ok. I guess everyone and their mothers are wrong about those two likely not going to the same school.

Not what he said at all. He said Painter must think it's likely they'd be willing to play together.

You’re right. Shouldn’t have said likely to go to Purdue. Same thing applies, though. Just seems weird to think everyone else is wrong believing those two are unlikely to play together. I don’t believe Painter thinks it’s likely. I wouldn’t argue that Painter is trying to convince him to play with Furst. But I doubt Painter thinks it’s likely.

Yeah, I think possibly is a better word than likely.

they are a lock whether you like it or not. the BT was getting 10 teams into the NCAAT this year, right now its all about the seeding and nothing more.

Purdue needed to win just to keep their hopes alive for the NIT.

No they aren’t. No team with fewer than 3 wins away from home have ever made the dance in this format

Then what does that mean for IU? They have just 2 road wins and won't get another opportunity this season. Or does that include neutral site wins as well?

better as Rutgers is the only P5 BB team in state, Rutgers is in a pretty good position, they keep winning they become more attractive to the INSTATE school.

just like Iowa is getting more attractive to the instate players.

Indiana, Purdue and ND are capable of attraction the best players to stay in state.

when I counted NJ had 6 top 150 players to recruit. if they miss out on the top player there is no shame in that as those players go to Duke or Kentucky. so to me that's a ehhh, its the other player that will have the longer term impact.

Seton Hall is also in NJ just FYI.

the wins are in a conference that may have 10 teams in the dance, pull you head out of Izzo's butt and realize the world does not revolve around MSU.

Its true road wins and a couple of bubble teams might break it this year. Rutgers with 1

Their NET is in the 30s, KenPom they are almost top 25. I just can’t see them getting left out right now. They get blown out these next two games and we have madness in conference tournaments then maybe.

Agreed my point was any "rule of thumbs" that have been true for a long time you can throw out the window this year
