FFS, how long do people have to talk about this? I mean this thread was fun for a while, but damn.

UNC fans - think they aren't dirty
Everyone who doesn't root for UNC - they are dirty AF

Hope everyone has a great day

It’s the biggest scandal in the history of the sport. It’s going to be talked about for a long time. Just like people still bring up and talk about “Kentucky’s Shame” and Uncle Sam Gilbert. The UNC stuff probably isn’t going to go away. It won’t be talked about as much, but people are still going to occasionally bring it up.

I don't mind that it is brought up at all tbh. It is just amusing how little the people who think they know the deal actually know. It doesn't suck to be a loser. We all lose. It sucks to be a loser and not to be able to own it or realize it. That's a crappy kind of way to be.

It's all about perception. Hence the poll.

Educated people know NCAA cleared Calipari. Twice. Perception is he's guilty.

Yeah, every non fan of every blue blood thinks they cheat. I don't care about that. It's always been that way and won't ever change.

I've also said for years that I'm a big fan of Cal. I get why UK fans want so badly to label others as cheaters. They've heard it for years. That doesn't make them right. It simply makes them just as wrong as those they hate so much.

It’s the same posters recycling the same material. I doubt I’m the only one that’s noticed

Agree. It's just something UNC fans are just going to have to deal with. It's not squeaky Carolina Way anymore. You're now synonymous with "dumb students", "exploiting young teens", "fake classes".

Eh, you guys greatly over-exaggerate the reach of this thing. I mean, on this board maybe. With hardcore fans maybe. That's a pretty small number of people. I know some pretty big college basketball fans who have asked me about it because they really now very little about it (nor really care). I honestly don't know why people think we should care that a bunch of people who have a very poor grasp on the situation think we are 'cheaters'.

Also, the 'Carolina Way' doesn't matter to me or you or any random fan. It only matters to the players and those who have been associated with the program. Believe me, it means a lot to those guys and is every bit as real as it has always been.

The "' were referencing others, and sarcasm doesn't translate. Didn't mean the way it reads.

Oh, I know. Heck, I agree. Many on this board will always look at it that way.

If UK fans weren’t pissed that UNC didn’t get into trouble, then why use the term UNCheat ? Or asterisks after UNC? Or have threads like this on RR? https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/...y-3-legitimate-national-championships.282733/

Going to have to admit that UK fans are pissed that UNC was found innocent & I think it’s hilarious.

We do it because we want to Te’o not because anyone’s pissed. Obviously the UNCheat remark really burns that ass for you or you wouldn’t keep trying everything in your to get people to stop saying it. It’s not gonna stop fake life boy so since it don’t bother you like you say why can’t you just ignore it???

Why would I care what you all call UNC? I just find it odd you come up with so many nicknames for stuff.
I don’t think I’ve ever brought up the UNCheat before. I asked about the asterisks because I didn’t know what they were for.

The asterisks are when people who aren't clever think they are being clever. In truth, they are still butthurt about it and it is their way to express the red they see when they think about it. It's pretty dumb but any sort of manipulation of a university or team name is pretty dumb.

Well you can believe what you want but as said by fans of all fan bases, nobody is pissed or butthurt, it’s just funny to everybody.

This right here is just a whole bunch of crap.

Nobody is butthurt about the UNC scandal except the 5 INC fans that are working so.hard to defend UNC's honor. Those of us that post in these threads are still in a bit of disbelief over the whole thing, I mean, it is a big deal, I know you don't want to hear that, but it's true.

I realize you UNC fans want it to just get swept under the rug, you all say you don't care, but here you all are, in every UNC AFAM scandal thread trying to defend UNC.

We talked about this all summer, we're talking about it now too. Know what those two points in time have in common? I do, there simply isn't that much going on in CBB right now, so the two dirtiest schools in CBB, UNC & UL, are going to be the main topics of conversation.

Seriously, you're soooo naive if you think UNC created AFAM for anything other than keeping athletes eligible. There was nothing legit about that course and a whole bunch of people at SACS and the NCAA let UNC slide.

Glad you guys are proud of getting off Scott free.

This sounds like much more of a UK fan thing.

I notice you had no reply for my question. Hmmm!Laughing
UNC don’t talk about Cal any worse than IU fans, Duke fans, Kansas fans or even UK fans did until you hired him.
Funny, after all these years I’ve still never seen “the letter” where the NCAA cleared Cal.

I don't think the NCAA is in the business of issuing clearance letters about people who were never implicated in anything.

That’s what I’ve always heard. That the ncaa issued a letter clearing Cal.

The important thing to know here Te’o is that Cal has nothing on his record so go ahead and say it, say he’s not dirty and all UNC fans was wrong to ever say such bad things about him. I’ll sit and wait!

Nothing on his record EXCEPT 2 final 4’s stripped & multiple victories vacated.

How’d the NCAA react with his 500th win? RollLaugh
Made him wait a few months, that’s how.

Yea because of what some players he had at those schools done. Again, wasn’t his fault and the NCAA said so! Now do you have a link saying he was found guilty or no???

Biggest scandal in the sport? LMFAO. Okay.

We see how much you all remember Auburn and Michigan's academic scandals that went unpunished.

You guys just have so much salt directed at UNC as a program that you are trying to make it into something it never was.

I’ll raise my hand and admit to being quite butt hurt about it. And I think anyone that’s truly invested in the sport is lying if they’re saying they’re not.

But Carolina fans that flock to these threads like moths to a flame to continue to parrot their company line to us are also lying when they say they don’t care what people think.

I think you need a timeout, lol.

How stupid is that calling us naive but the ruling went our way? I work with UK and Duke fans and they don’t talk about it but somehow these clowns here think since it’s discussed here it’s the talk of the town everywhere. They don’t understand we won and we are the ones laughing. It seems like they can’t believe it, like it’s a bad dream or something and the butthurt is obvious. Winners aren’t naive and don’t have nothing to apologize for. Bottom line is the ruling was made, we’re happy and the haters are not. Some just can’t/won’t accept it. Another thread will pop up and they will say the same thing proving our point.

First paragraph is right on. The second shows you’re still upset.

So I guess you think OJ was innocent then correct?

Unpunished? Listen, compare cocks with UK fans all you want but give me a break. Michigan’s sanctions may have been self imposed but to consider the following going “unpunished” is just silly.

“By the fall of 2002, it had become clear that Michigan's basketball program was guilty of major violations.[3] In response, Michigan decided to impose its own sanctions on the program.[41] Initially, Michigan announced it would forfeit every game in which the four players appeared.[41] On November 7, 2002; Michigan president Mary Sue Coleman and athletic director Bill Martin announced that the school was imposing sanctions of its own on the basketball program. Among them:

  • No postseason play in 2002–03, even though the players who took Martin's money were no longer at the school.
  • The school vacated the entire 1992–93 season and every game it played from the 1995–96 season through the 1998–99 season. This included the 1997 National Invitation Tournament title and the 1998 Big Ten Tournament title. It also vacated its two Final Four games in 1992 and its entire NCAA tournament record in 1993, 1996 and 1998. There is a difference between forfeiting a game and vacating a game; a vacated game does not result in the other school being credited with a win. This included virtually the entire career of Fisher's successor, Brian Ellerbe. However, it did not include all games that Webber played or was eligible because all but the final two games of his freshman year were retained.
  • Returning $450,000 received from the NCAA for postseason play in 1992, 1993, 1996 and 1998
  • Banners commemorating the 1992 and 1993 Final Four runs, the 1997 NIT title and 1998 Big Ten Tournament title would be removed from the rafters at Crisler Arena.
  • Two years' probation.“
