I won't say it was intentional, but...

Oh man. Carolina guy picked up right before the Carolina fan had a chance to snag him.

Mark Sears, Alabama.

@boilerzz you’re next.
You’re better off. Sears is going to have a bigger year than RJ. RJ ain’t even gonna win CPOY with Pooper standing in his way.

Not a bad backup option, though. Mark Sears very well could be the NPOY.

He's more affectionately known as Pooper Flagg.

I knew I wanted one or the other and I think both are great options. I could see RJ’s usage numbers going down a little from last year with the new additions and possible improvement from the supporting characters, but we’ll see. I would have taken him if he were still on the board.

I'd actually expect his usage to go up. The 4/5 spots won't be as strong without Ingram and Bacot. That may necessitate a few more shot attempts.

Yeah, that’s very possible.

I’m not sure what to think of the team yet. Hoping for good things (obviously).

Haven't heard from @ThePhog08 so I'm going to skip ahead. Not an obvious choice here. There are 2 other guys I really like. I'm going to roll with...

Kadary Richmond, St. John's

@JimboBBN is up

I didn't know it started fudge. I went on a business trip this last week. Gah

Really wanted Karaban on the return. Damn.

Give me LJ Cryer.

@ThePhog08 you’re up again. If you just want to make two picks I’m sure that’s fine.

His second pick is after mine. I'll take Tamin Lipsey (Iowa State).

So, the draft looks like this currently.

1st Round
1. Hunter Dickinson, Kansas
2. Cooper Flagg, Duke
3. RJ Davis, North Carolina
4. Mark Sears, Alabama
5. Johni Broome, Auburn
6. Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton
7. (TBD - Phog)
8. Kadary Richmond, St. John's
9. Caleb Love, Arizona
10. Alex Karaban, UConn

2nd Round
11. Oumar Ballo, Indiana
12. LJ Cryer, Houston
13. Tamin Lipsey, Iowa State

I was hoping Lipsey would be available. Like Karaban pick a lot too.

@ThePhog08 You can go ahead an take back-to-back picks. Because you're on the clock again with your second pick, that means no one can currently skip you for 24 hours. To help you get started on who to zone in on, here are the top 5 available players from 4 basketball pundits.

Cole Amundson
1. Kam Jones, Marquette
2. Graham Ike, Gonzaga
3. Great Osobor, Washington
4. Wade Taylor, Texas A&M
5. Walter Clayton, Florida

Matt Cox
1. Johnell Davis, Arkansas
2. Wade Taylor, Texas A&M
3. Ryan Nembhard, Gonzaga
4. Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest
5. Vlad Goldin, Michigan

Ky McKeon
1. Kam Jones, Marquette
2. Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest
3. Wade Taylor, Texas A&M
4. Dylan Harper, Rutgers
5. Ace Bailey, Rutgers

Jim Root, Three Man Weave
1. Kam Jones, Marquette
2. Ryan Nembhard, Gonzaga
3. Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest
4. Dylan Harper, Rutgers
5. Wade Taylor, Texas A&M

I was hoping Lipsey would be available. Like Karaban pick a lot too.

Lipsey is a badass. Such a fun player to watch. Might be the best on-ball defender in the country. I think he's also the most likely candidate to compete against Hunter Dickinson for Big 12 POY.

I'm interested to see what type of leap Karaban might take. He had an effective field goal percentage of 60%, which is phenomenal for someone who takes a lot of perimeter shots. His usage is going to go way up. Should be UConn's go-to scorer, and if UConn wins the Big East again, he could easily make an All-American team.

you guys are savage. @ThePhog08 comes in here and says he didn't realize the draft had started, but still doesn't make a pick and next thing you know there's a line of people rushing to make picks before he jumps back in with a pick. Setting the tone.

I previously stated we would start the draft on Monday. That's when the 24-hour clock officially started. That allows for a reasonable amount of time for people to check daily and get their picks submitted.

The big thing for me is, I don't want to stall the draft. The season starts in 27 days. Phog has at least 22 hours where nobody can jump ahead of him right now.

Feel like you still got a first rounder in Jones. I had him at 7 on my big board.

Agreed. A legit 1st Team All American prospect. Don't expect Marquette to be quite as good as last year, and that's my only hesitation, but Kam is going to put up monster numbers. I'd expect him to average north of 20 ppg.

My least favorite part about doing this every year is how @dukedevilz seems to give out compliments like Halloween candy to all the members except me. Usually we get to the 6th or 7th round, I make a pick, and he’s like “you could have gotten him 4 rounds later!”

Haha that was the first compliment I've given out so far. I was mostly happy that @ThePhog08 was able to get someone of a first round value in spite of being skipped over.

Solid picks across the board at this stage. Caleb Love is a returning All American - and LJ Cryer is the best player on a legit title contender. Both of those guys could easily be All Americans.

Things really start to open up maybe in the middle of the fourth or fifth round. That's when there's a wide variation of who the best available players are. Lol that's funny about the idea of me saying "you could have gotten him 4 rounds later." That sounds like something I would say.

yea, it sucks when you love college basketball, post a lot about college basketball, get all geared up to impress everyone with your knowledge in the fantasy draft and then all your picks are met with crickets and tumbleweed. Getting praise from @dukedevilz is like getting a handshake from Paul Hollywood on Great British Bakeoff.

There was that one year where DD picked after me and I made 3 or 4 picks that he said he was mad I made before he could get the player.
To this day, when my wife asks me what I'm thinking about when we're having sex I have to make something up really quick cause the truth would not end well for me.
