Kenpom ain't garbage...But it isn't too reliable 8 games in, either. So, yeah, right now its garbage. I mean the past 3-4 years,Zags gave been a Top 20 defenive team. Was #1 defensively two years ago.
Naw, they’ve been giving up a lot of points thus far. Not sure if the injured Zag will be helpful for their defense when he return. Maybe that’s it.

Great game, as a Zags fan, it has been fun to see us be able to compete and the way they have against Tenn and Duke. Knowing that we are still a top tier team without Killian Tillie and Geno Crandall is incredibly promising. The defense is down right now but I believe that it will improve when we have another backup point guard to give Perkins a breather and to allow Rui and Clarke to be more aggressive defensively with another Premier big man. Hopefully we beat UNC and win out to earn that 1 seed out west.

Gotta say, this was the best game of the season. High-level action on both ends. Fun, fun game. Sean Farnham couldn't contain his child-like excitement. "Are you kidding me, Roxy!!" Schofield is a gamer. Great win for the Vols. Gotta imagine UT/Gonzaga will both have a 1 or 2 seed come March.
Will be interesting to see how the Zags incorporate Tillie back into the lineup. Conventional wisdom would have you think that Kispert would be the 6th man - and the Zags go big with Hachimura, Clarke, and Tillie. But I'm thinking Tillie will probably come off the bench to at least shake off the rust.

I have to give it to the Vols. They beat a really good team in Gonzaga. UT is better in basketball right now than UK. Kentucky lost to UT in football but finished second in the SEC East and will be in a New Years bowl game while the Vols are staying home and watching the Cats play Penn State.
He has already seen UK get curb stomped first hand. What is to see?
Because UT couldn't beat bottom feeder Vandy and has to sit home while Kentucky is going to a New Year's Bowl game after finishing second in the SEC east. Much rather be in a New Years bowl game with the added weeks of practice plus the extra publicity and money that is attached. I think it is the other way around. Tennessee is making a splash with a blue collar old fashion upperclassman basketball team with kids that will get their degrees, while Kentucky has sold their souls with one and done kids that don't care about college, can't even spell their names.
