Why is it weird? They want the media coverage. Like most things duke does, it’s smart and unique.
Could you imagine all these hip hop and NFL stars at a UK game with all those hillbillies? Lol, oil and water.
I mean, you clearly aren’t in tune with what the Duke student demographics are if you are trashing UK fans in that way.
They like to point themselves for sure. No doubt there. I get they are all about marketing. Just seems like they are trying too hard IMO.
You obviously don't know that K is a legend in the streets!
Also, 2 Chainz was at the GameDay event and used to play college basketball as well.
Duke and UK fans have literally nothing in common except blue and white.

I would say someone else doing it is quite a bit different from you doing it but many would agree with you that ESPN and Duke are basically the same. They certainly love to promote you guys.
These UK guys think they have street cred, lol. If calamari isn’t buying players through street agents, no one in the cities gives a damn about UK.

There are a lot of reasons! Duke is an elite school! Very diverse, graduates s lot of lawyers and people in entertainment.
There is a reason why what’s her name goes to all the UK games - she’s the only celeb that likes them!

Not sure what the big deal is, but it's also just as pointless to have an issue with a list of guests that Duke released. I doubt you would have any issue if any other team did it.

Unc and duke both get love from ESPN. But unc fans cant stand hearing anything good about duke so they pretend that ESPN is pro - Duke. Obviously not.
Everyone gets love from ESPN at times. No one really enjoys hearing a bunch of nonsense about their rival but there is little doubt (mainly because of NBA affiliations and their infatuation with OADs) that ESPN promotes Duke more than they do UNC. Again, not a negative. I would love if they were all over UNC, the defending champs and team who has been to back to back title games.

I think it’s fine for a school to do promotion, especially when you are hosting the premier game of the college basketball season. I was impressed by some of those, 2 chainz being pretty far down my list... a number of business heads in there... and did I see the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in there? He is a professor at Duke now. I took a “Military History” class with a member of the JCS back when I was there... he commuted. I cannot remember his name right now tho... lemme see if I can find it.
