People were buying gas like the apocalypse was coming. That caused a gas shortage. He was telling people to just buy what they need so everybody could get gas.
What part of that isn’t sensible? The shortage was caused by panic buying. Even with the pipeline shutdown for a week there was enough supply to meet normal demand.
