No matter what happens with oscar, uk and wvu will be playing meaningful basketball in march while illinois sits at home.
I'm fine with where Illinois is in their rebuild. Look at who we're getting on campus. We'll land a guy like Oscar eventually.
OSU source tweeted out that he heard Illinois was leading following their visit, so it's not just Illinois guys. Like I said, I think it's momentary, but he had a great time.

I wouldn't be so certain. Look at Francis Okoro. Guardians were Illinois fans. Illinois was in tight with him. He saw flashy Nike bs at Oregon, and despite what his family wanted, he went to Oregon. Don't underestimate the sell of UK to a teenager.
Cal beating Huggs for a recruit isn't "something crazy". UK > wvu and it's not even close.
I played in the Kentucky Middle School Basketball tourney when Mayo was at Rose Hill. Seeing him play in person - and knowing we were near the same age at the time - was the exact moment my childhood dreams of being a professional basketball player died.

Any other situation i would already be congratulating UK. But oscar is a mountaineer. Theres a reason we get his last visit. Id be a little surprised if he doesnt commit and shut it down next weekend when hes in morgantown.

3. He became a 5 star a couple weeks ago. Thats when uk started caring about him. He knows that.

I may be the minority, but I don't mind losing a recruit to WVU. Maybe if we play against each other more it might change, but I've been a Chuggins fan since his early days at Cincy.

UK has come in at the last minute a number of times in recruiting and the player came to UK. (Marquise Teague, Jamaal Murray to name a couple)
UK has 10x the national spotlight, stage, attention, and rep for preparing players for the next level than wvu. If Oscar was such a lock for wvu, he would've committed by now.
Funny that while we're arguing, news today is that UK is leading for Isaiah Stewart AND James Wiseman.... if that's true, not really a spot for Oscar. Maybe it's a matter of who commits first...Stewart is visiting this weekend and there is talk that he may commit during the visit.

We're behind a bit on Wiseman. We'll only get 1 or the other and its looking like Stewart.
He was originally scheduled to be there Sunday-Tuesday, it was just moved up to Saturday night (I suppose to attend the football game). He's still going to get the full 48-hours.
At least 3, although Oscar and Stewart are virtually clones of each other in size and skill set.
That would be a good get. I get a feed on my phone today that stated Wiseman was a 55% lean towards Memphis. I think we sign Stewart and maybe hope for Wiseman. Since our strong interest in Stewart recently, I think Wiseman is iffy. Last I heard Wiseman wasn't signing until the spring... heard any differently?
Definitely not until spring for Wiseman, but as far as he and Stewart go they are completely different players and UK is going to need at least 3 bigs after this season anyway.
Would love to see Richards and/or Montgomery back next year, although it is probably unlikely for either one. Especially for Richards if he continues to show the improvement he showed in the Bahamas.

Jeff Hall brought both of them to Rose Hill a very small Christian school
Mayo was from Huntington and Walker was from South Point, Ohio
Walker was from Huntington too.
OJ Mayo, Patrick Patterson, Bill Walker and another pretty highly recruited kid named Chris Early (originally went to Oklahoma) all from Huntington in the same class. Mayo and Walker moved to OH/KY together.
he was born and has family in Huntington, but he was actually from South Point
i can't say much but i knew he had a bad knee long before he got drafted
i can also give you the real scoop why they left Rose Hill
