That simulator uses Sargain. I do not think IU is going to lose their last three games of the season. I do enjoy using that simulator every year to see how things can play out. IU might even be favored at Iowa come that time and I think IU will give Ohio State all they can handle on senior night.

Just another heads up: The BIG Conference Simulator has Purdue and Penn State winning tonight.

#6 Purdue goes to Wisconsin for a game on ESPN at 6:00. Purdue currently favored by 10.5

#8 Ohio State goes to Penn State for a game on BTN at 7:00. Penn State currently favored by 1.0

I love that you can change it to who YOU think will win the games and then hit submit and see how it comes out

Well, looks reasonable to me, but of course I hope some way OSU can win 3 of their last 4 instead of worse. But it’s a tough finish.

Exactly. Haas is not a good rebounder nor shot blocker. He’s good at scoring and drawing fouls. He’s not good at rebounding, blocking shots, or playing defense.
I would add that he does alright at getting a body on a guy, he's just terrible at going to get the ball b/c he's slow and can't jump.

Will give him credit for making a stride defensively. Still can be taken advantage of (and can be a huge liaibility in some games), but he seems to be much better at challenging shots this year. Like the way he'll go straight up as well to challenge. Still isn't a strength considering his size.

Haas is a terrible rebounder AND shot blocker. Seriously? Haarms will be a significantly better rebounder than Haas ever was. Haas averages 0.9 blocks per game. For a 7’2 guy, that’s pretty bad. Haarms averages 2.5 blocks a game.
That's a bit hyperbolic.

Haas isn't a great rebounder or shot blocker but he's not terrible. He's currently 15th in the B1G in rebounding percentage and 7th in block percentage.

Yup. I think we win one of the last three as a conservative estimate.

Terrible wasn’t the right word. I think he’s average at both of them and that Haarms will be better at both.

never specified the players by color. I only see green. or doesn't Turg recruit White Players?

what that means I am color blind when it comes to the color of a players skin.

white Iowa kids need to learn not to commit to Fran at Iowa if they want to get a decent rating from Bossi
Thought maybe you were wrong... but I always get you and ol' Gil mixed up.

MSU is thin on quadrant 1 wins (only 3-2) and has just 8 quadrant 1 + 2 wins (Kansas for example has 14). Also, MSU's best road win to date is at Maryland (their only RPI 100 road win).

Again, I'm not saying I agree with the committee. I'm just trying to illustrate what I believe to be their mindset. I'm a big RPI hater but it appears they are still relying on it but at least have tweaked the groupings to adjust for road/neutral results.

What sucks for Sparty is the B1G is so bad that you are going to have to beat Purdue and OSU in the BTT to improve those metrics at all.

This!
When (more than?) 50% of your conference schedules loads of pansies, and then the overall talent isn't strong, depending on conference wins/losses for a better seed is not smart. Do coaches not know the selection committee uses the craptastic RPI as a basis? do they not care?

I get it, MSU should be seeded higher than Kansas, whomever, and by the time the final bracket comes out, I'd bet they are anyway. Fact (?) is, Sparty doesn't have their required wins to put them on that line yet, and the b1g has not helped.

The obsession with everything MSU = bad is way worse than most things ITT. It's pretty nutty.
As an outsider, this is somewhat cyclical. Two big dogs (in the b1g over the past couple of seasons), picking on "those" their own size. It's the Big Dog vs others type fluff that's "worse".
The continued attacks on Iowa, Wisky, Ill .. just fluff. I like that those posters are still here, talking b1g, shows passion.
Big XII posters disappear when their team isn't doing well.. and there are so few of them anyway.

Should OSU maintain into next season (+), more top program posters will bicker with the influx of OSU posters that'll arrive, would be my guess.

I want you guys to put yourselves in the shoes of an Iowa basketball fan right now: Would you rather have Tom Crean or Fran McCaffery as coach?

Honesly, for now, Fran. Unless Crean has any D1 roundball sons in high school.
But, I'd want a slew of new assistant coaches with Fran.

End of page 190. Work is fun again! Thanks guys!!

What is the feel on if Wagner and Matthews are coming back. I know some people are quite confident.

Well I think Matthews is all but a lock to come back.

Wagner won't be a first round pick. The worry is that he could return home to Europe and make good money there, but he seems to love the college atmosphere. I'd say 75/25 returning.

The university and Pitino handled this so poorly they deserve it.
How did they handle it poorly? They followed protocol.

When he was accused and arrested the first time, he was suspended from the team. He wasn't charged and the university cleared him through the eoaa process. The second time he was not charged with a crime and was being investigated by the university. Protocol dictates that until the university find him culpable, he is allowed to play. Once the decision came down and recommended expulsion, he was suspended from playing pending appeal. Now that he has dropped the appeal he is off the team. Fail to see how they handled it so poorly.

Ethics.

If I know a kid on my team is being investigated for Sexual Assault for a second and third time, that kid is not playing. When he was found culpable by the university his ass is gone immediately. None of this hiding behind the process, he is still part of the team shit.

Exactly. If this was the first time, that’s one thing. But Lynch has clearly demonstrated that this wasn’t a one time thing. Pitino kept him around way too long.

Wasn’t there an incident in high school? Also part of the problem is he’s a Pitino and because of dad people are already going to jump to conclusions.

since everybody in the 2019 class that have offers are 4 or 5* players

Fran is personally recruiting Carton and 5* Robinson-Earle from Kansas. getting him to pick Iowa over Kansas would be no different than Fran to get Cook to pick Iowa over Kansas.

another selling point is that Cook may leave after his JR season this would allow Earle to slide into Cook starting spot.

You think Fran landing Cook
(from lolMissouri)
is the same as landing JR-E(no-e)
(from Kansas)
(who's dad played at Kansas) is "no different"?

My salesman in the office across from me is still laughing.
I have taken two phone calls since I read that post aloud.

Has nothing to do with him being a Pitino. If Archie Miller let a player being investigated for sexual assault play and then when said player is found to be responsible and Archie Miller says he is still a part of team I would want his ass fired too.

Its part of the perception though. Obviously its a completely separate situation, but the media and water cooler talk can easily be about how he is a Pitino and just like his dad, the line might get crossed in order to win.

Cook picked Iowa over a offer from Kansas and other teams as these were the schools that offered him
Arkansas
Florida
FSU
Illinois
ISU
KANSAS
Marquette
Miami of Florida
Michigan
Missouri
Purdue
USF
Tennessee
Virginia
Viginia Tech
and he was rated the 38th best player in his class and the 8th best PF. by ESPN.
Cook had his pick of schools and yet he chose Iowa. please stop with the stupidity act.

He/she is saying that Iowa has no chance to land PF Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, partly because his dad went to Kansas, not that Cook didn't choose Iowa over Kansas. You missed the whole point of the post

A couple of interesting facts showing just how top heavy the Big Ten is.

The top 5 of the Big Ten has 14 conference losses combined:
  • Only 2 of the 14 are to teams outside of the top 5 (OSU vs PSU and Michigan vs Northwestern)
  • None of the bottom 6 teams (Maryland, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Rutgers, Illinois) has a win against the top 5

stranger thing have happened but he is another that is not a make or break recruit since Fran as a good chance at getting 5* forward in the 2020 class that will replace the outgoing SR Cook. in Foster, miss in 2019 succeed in 2020 when they will have 6 scholarships to hand out.

Fran is never getting a 5 star. We all know that if Fran received the commitment from a 5 star talent they would automatically drop in the rankings to 3 star level.

so true. but this time he may only drop to a 4*. as he has been signing 4* players by both Rivals and ESPN.

it is pretty sad there are posters on Hawkeye Nation blasting for even offering a 2020 recruit that they feel is not any good. Foster is a 5* by Rivals and 247 sports .

Depends. If a player is a certain color, it’ll be a 4*. If it’s another color, it’ll be a 3*. Amirite?
