***Official B1G Off-Season Thread***

Not sure UW and Oregon are the JV West, but okay. Scheduling ND at this point is dumb for Purdue.
UW and oregon joined the BIG this season, the former East/West div (and their attendant schedules) were dissolved prior to their arrival, so neither played in either division.

Hope this helps.

There are no tears you dumbass. You haven’t played a team with a pulse yet. It’s ok.
Every week..

Eye test tells you, this is a good team.

IU just hasn't won, they've dismantled teams.

@ UCLA, 42-13
NEB, 56-7
@ NW , 42-23
Wash, 31-17...without Rourke.

Haven't even trailed.

Might come crashing down @ MSU, vs Mich, @ OSU. Who knows.

But this is a good team.

Are they still good if they lose those 3? Probably yes by Indiana standards.

We’ve had seasons like this where you start hot not really playing anyone then lose 3 or 4 and find out it was mostly a mirage.

lol 13 of your last 18 posts sobbing bout the success little IU FB is seeing and trying to yourself that you don't care a lick about IU.

You remind me of Ky fans.

Need Rourke back. IU has an elite offense with him.
Rourke doesn't have the arm or physical ability that TJ does but he reads defenses and makes decisions really well.

As i said before, I have been sitting those stands for 45 years so I never expect to win another game. Fun to see the stands packed although noon kicks suck. Sat didn't have the emotion that Hep's "Play 13" game did but it was fun on a beautiful day in Btown.

This run has obviously upset some folks but the fans are great...they are enjoying it but virtually none are being cocky or arrogant about it. They just appreciate it while it lasts, four tough games remain.

You played in the BIG's JV West for God's sake.
Yeah our division was easier, but our non-con schedule has been weirdly difficult for a while.

Quick Look at ESPN - since 2014 (when east/west started), Purdue's had the harder overall SOS in 8 of 11 seasons. Purdue's average SOS was 36 while IUs was 43.

That's because we've had far too difficult of a non-con schedule considering our place in the college football pecking order.

The non-con needs more guaranteed wins.

Again my post takes nothing away from IU's season. They're doing work and smoking teams that other teams aren't.

Enjoy it.

Saw something interesting on IU's football season.

Their strength of schedule is unsurprisingly 106th nationally (out of 134). So, as everyone acknowledges, the schedule has been Charmin soft.

But IU's strength of record is 10th. That means they've handled their business against that schedule like they are #10 team in the country.

Just destroyed the narrative that we’ve had the easier schedule. Well done.

83rd STD and going to drop over the next three games.

OSU is the only team that they might lose too, but even then, OSU hasn't been very good. OSU barely beat Nebraska who IU thrashed.

Actually it was 5-5 with IU avg 43.8 and PU avg 45.1 per teamrankings.com

Your point stands though that PUs non con made up for the differnce in the BIG schedule. Lots of flexing by PU grads on our weak non conf but it is the right thing to do for programs like ours.

Schedule has been weak..But like you said, they've handled their biz.

They've basically hammered everyone.

This is a good football team. And could lose Sat @ MSU; especially if no Rourke. Plus road games are tough.

Wait teamrankings.com has IU with a harder schedule than Purdue this year lmao

I didn't look at this year. No point in looking at a mid-season SOS unless your goal is to take a cheap shot, and surely that is not the case. Hence the 10 vs 11.

Yeah also forgot to mention that Purdue's worst SOS was the covid year, where we didn't have any non-con games.
Actually, the worst was 2016. '14-'16 were all high 68/63/79.

2020 IU was #14, PU #49 which reflects the east/west disparity as no one had non-con games.

Hope this helps

Couldn't care less about SOS. This is a very good team. Cig can coach. Shan a very good OC.

This team is probably 4-4 @ best under Allen.
Will be interesting to see which bigger programs come calling this offseason.

Exactly, the thing about the vast majortiy of IU fans is perspective. This isn't Iowa or Wisky banging on the door of the top BIG teams, this is IU banging on the door of the middle class. One of the reasons the Game Day crew is so gaga over their visit to Btown is not just the campus and the facilities but just how appreciative the students and fans are for what we have (even if it is fleeting)

This is a highly disciplined, smart, good team with a significant number of 0 and 2 star players contributing and they are fun to watch. D'Angelo Ponds may be BTDPOY and is a 2 star.
Aiden Fisher is a beast LB and a 0 (zero) star,
Curtis Rourke is a ****ing 2 star.
Elijah Sarrat is as good a receiver as there is in the BIG...2 star.
RBs Ellison and Black...2 stars
Our Top RB Ty Son Lawton...0 (zero) star

The number of people butthurt over this is hysterical.
"mid major coach and mid major players" whaaa
"you haven't played anyone" whaaa
"a real program is taking your coach" whaaa

Is this player a point guard or a shooting guard? Who handles the ball when Smith is out?
He's got a little of Carsen Edwards' fearlessness. TBD on whether that's a good thing or not. But he seems like a plus defender and ballhandler.

Looks like he could be another unranked guy that people go "Where dafuq did Painter find him?" but it's too early to be sure.

I’m sure Myles Colvin is thrilled.
