We ended the game on a 30-8 run.

Currently we are sitting at 17-8. How many of these remaining games do we need to win to be in?

@ Minnesota
Rutgers
Maryland
@ Illinois

I think it hurts you guys that you only play Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State only once each. Don’t have opportunities for good wins.

I think if you go 3-3, you're out. 4-2, you'd have to do some damage in tourney. 5-1, win one game in BTT, maybe, but you'd probably be in either way. 6-0, you're in.

I agree with this. According to ESPN, Nebraska is 1-6 against quality opponents. I would need to win all 6 to feel comfortable.

If they win at least 5, it will be really interesting to see what the committee does. Has a 22 wing B1G team ever been left off? Normally, you would want the easy road with unbalanced scheduling, but in this case it may come back to bite Nebraska’s ass.

Does Nebraska play any games on the road or against the top 4 teams? My god that schedule....

Just saw that Happ was 8-19 from the FT line. How can someone in his 4th year in the program still be that bad at something so simple?

Zero confidence in tonight's game. Pretty solid game and effort on Sunday only to lose out in the final few minutes against a rival. 5th game in 11 days. Just not a good scenario in my opinion.

I want to root for you. Just not sure it's possible.

some guys just can't shoot. He hasn't stooped to Ryan Evan's 39% level, so we've got that going for us.

I think that the Maryland game is the only one outsiders would consider Nebby an underdog or even up....so, I say you need to win five of six...four of six if one of the other losses were to be a roadie.

It's got to be psychological because form can be fixed.

Isaac Haas was 54% as a freshman, got it to 71% each of his sophomore and junior years, and is at 78% this season.

And I think you'd be hard pressed to find a guy who has the physical traits that would make free throw shooting difficult.

It's something. Even Iverson is up to 70% this year. He was awful for awhile.

Haas being essentially an 80% FT shooter is amazing. Proves that big guys can shoot free throws.

Hey IU, please go on a two-game winning streak this week. Thanks in advance.

I'd take it in a heartbeat. Honestly wouldn't give two shits if it puts you in the driver's seat. Unfortunately, do not see it happening. Most likely a four game losing streak.

Do you guys get OSU at home or just in Columbus?

How strange is the B1G this season? IU fans like Purdue's team with the exception of the name on the jerseys, and Purdue fans think IU's coach is doing a good job with a strange roster (and have been pulling for IU sometimes in situations that aren't 100% to Purdue's benefit). Both teams are exceeding, for the most part, what the rivals fans expectations were. To be fair, Purdue is exceeding everyone's expectations except the wildest Purdue homers. And besides for those fringe homers on both sides, there's even some respect.

The schedule has been brutal the past 2 weeks for Indiana with 6 games in 14 days with 4 games against 3 of the top 4 teams in the league. If they get one of the next two it's cause for celebration. 2 of 2, and bubble talk could be a real thing. Not expecting much though.

The Illinois loss crushed those dreams in my opinion.

It has been an interesting season of "strange new respect" from each team's fanbase. Could use more of that around here. But I think, as you mention, that has a lot to do with such a wide gulf between each fanbase's expectations coming into the season - and even more so as we've gotten into conference play.

I've been glad to see Robert Johnson coming back into form a bit the past few weeks; he'd been too productive for too long to have such a disappointing senior season. Would have been a little less glad if he had managed to put IU over the top on Sunday, but I digress.

Yeah the B1G fans hate the conference tourney being at MSG anyways, but add in the fact that to accommodate it being at MSG, situations like tonight where OSU has had 6 days of rest and scouting to play an Indiana team that played 48 hours ago and now has to travel and play on the road - its just not ideal.

Unbalanced schedules are already bad enough, but they are what they are, but you simply cant add in these types of no rest scenarios where a home team in waiting gets to exploit a 48 hour road turnaround. Its hurts competitive integrity.

I loved the early december conference games. They were dope. But they arent worth this type of thing.

Huge game tonight for both teams. Buckeyes finally got some rest this week end. They looked tired against PSU. Really think this game will go down to the very end. Indiana definitely an improved team.

But at least we get to see our B1G teams at Madison Square Garden!

I am pretty sure Indiana has the largest alumni base in the NY area minus say Rutgers and they will not be filling up MSG. Unless Indiana goes big that place is going to be just as empty as Washington DC last year. I just do not know how many folks from the mid-west will actually be traveling out there for it. Sad, but ole boy Jim is laughing to the bank.

The rumor is these are going to be staying around with the move to 20 conference games.

Indiana (5-5, 12-10) @
OSU (9-1, 18-5) 7pm
After starting 9-0 in conference Chris Holtmann’s team lost a heartbreaker to PSU at the buzzer. Bates-Diop led the team with 25 points.

Indiana faces a quick turn around after fiercely battling #3 Purdue before losing 74-67. Juwan Morgan had 24 for Indiana
“For us, we have to have short term memory loss.” Archie Miller said. “We have to be ready to roll on the road against a team that has been sitting at home waiting on us a few days. They are having a great year as well.”

OSU Coach Chris Holtmann commented, “We will see how good we respond. No one, at the beginning of the year, thought that this would be an important game for us, for anybody, when it comes to any type of postseason,”
“Indiana is really good and playing as well as anyone at this point in the league, so we will need to be better and hopefully we will.”

To be clear, Im not saying this is the only instance, just using tonight as an example.

You cant give one team 48 hours of rest and tell them to go on the road to play a team on 6 days rest and fully scouted the road team in those 6 days.

I am sure all teams, OSU included, have been or will be screwed ny this. Just a frustrating part of this seasons B1G schedule.

I am continously astonished by how little Iowa cares about defense, and although this number is very high, I have to wet my beak on this one.

My bet tonight, brosephs:

Over 154 Minnesota/Iowa.

(Looking forward to not being allowed to post for the next day)

Man, looking at Penn State, Josh Reaves has to be kicking himself. He missed 5 games due to academic issues and the Nits went 2-3 with a 4 point loss at IU, an OT loss to Minnesota and a 9 point loss at NW when the score was tied inside 5 minutes to go.

Had they won two of those three, they'd be sitting at 17-6 overall and 7-3 in conference. Instead, they are mired at 15-8 and 5-5 and don't have likely need to win 7 or 8 more games between the B1G and BTT to sniff an NCAA bid. They definitely need to win two of four @MSU, OSU, @Purdue, Michigan or have to win the BTT.

Their RPI is horrible. Oddly enough kenpom is much higher on them

Those of that live in the northeast aren’t hating the fact that the B1G tourney is in MSG. I’ll be happily taking the hr and 15 min train ride into Grand Central from CT. Will be at the Friday, Sat and Sun (if Purdue makes it to finals) games with high school buddies (I went to West LaLa HS) coming in from Austin, Pittsburgh, and Philly.

Yep, but had they beaten Indiana and Minnesota, it would be much higher. Running an RPIForecast on them and projecting those wins and losses to just Purdue and MSU remaining, they'd be at 23-8 with an RPI of 40. The same with also a Nebraska loss or a Michigan loss and they'd have been 22-9 with an RPI of between 47 and 51.
