LeBron Declares Himself GOAT

Never said Jordan was a good person. He didn't coddle folks. SO what. Results is what matters, t this level. His results speak for themselves.
I think when we're talking about someone we go out of our way not to defend as a good person, "not coddling" is more accurately called "treating others like dirt."

The results DO speak for themselves, so let's stop trying to gloss over peripheral issues in some attempt to validate the results redundantly.

Wait you are trashing Lebron for losing a finals while ignoring that it took Jordan couldn’t even make the finals until his 7th season? Laughing

Way to ignore those 1st round playoff lossss, Borden. You are so unbelievably biased.
Not biased at all. I have nothing to be biased about. Jordan played at UNC...I'm not a UNC fan. Jordan played for the Bulls. Not a Bulls fan. And TBH,not an NBA fan. It's just an opinion.

Also you fail to mention that in Jordan's rookie season, he lead the Bulls to the playoffs. A Bulls team that had won a total of 35% of its games the previous three seasons.

His second season, he broke his foot. Returned late for the playoffs. Bulls lost to the Celtics. A team nay considered to be one of the best of All-time.

3rd season he again led the Bulls to the playoffs. Lost to the Celtics again. Yeah....the Celtics.

Then lost to the Pistons. Yeah, that Pistons team that won back to back NBA titles.

So in Jordans first few seasons, he lost to teams that won 4 NBA titles. Teams led by Larry Bird and Isiah THomas. You may have heard of them.

As for LeBron...His teams missed the playoffs completely during his first two seasons. Jordan never missed the playoffs, BTW. LeBron reached the NBA finals in his 4th season. Wherre the Cavs were swept. 5th season lost in the semi's....6th season lost in conference finals...7th season, lost in semi's....

So LBJ went to one NBA finals in his first 7 seasons.,,Jordan none. Yeah, such an embarrassing and overwhelming gap...

LBJ had to deal with...........WHo, in the Eatern conference, in early years? Jordan had the likes of Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird and Isiah Thomas led teams.

Next.....

Because it was a lockout? They went 13-37. That's pretty terrible.

Saying they only won 13 games without mentioning the my only played 50 games ie disingenuous.

That bulls team lost Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Kerr, Longley.

How many games did the bulls win the year Jordan took off in 93/94?

You’re biased because you are clearly a Jordan fan who isn’t giving Lebron anything close to a fair shake. That’s fine because you’re entitled to your opinion but at least admit it.

I can't decide whether to laugh at the hypocrisy or tell borden to take it with a grain of salt, but take it.

I don’t see that

It doesn’t. Rutgers best player doesn’t improve Rutgers as much as Lebron improves his teams. Try harder.
Really? I did not know this. I mean who knew that Rutgers best player doesn't improve Rutgers as much as LeBron improves his teams. Wow.....Its a comparison of Team A's best player vs Team B's best player, in terms of improvement. WHo the player is, isn't a needed variable. In other words, just b/c LBJ led teams were more improved, doesn't mean he was a better player. I could use any two names, from any two teams, and the comparison still holds the same amount water.

But you’re not disproving anything about the point we are making. We are saying that Lebron has taken dogshit teams and turned them into competitors. Rutgers best player isn’t doing that.

Look at teams he leaves. Trash.
Look at the Bulls when MJ left, Eastern Conf Finals.
And I love that it’s somehow better to lose BEFORE The Finals. Lol
What does this have to do with who is better? It only supports that Jordan had a beter supporting cast, and a better coach. It doesn't however support who the better player was. No one has never argued that Jordan had less. So not sure where this argument plays into things.

The most powerful muscle in the history of our species is used an an insult meaning someone is weak and people who vote libertarian think it's something they should mention out loud.

Laughing @ your cognitive dissonance
Almost as bad as openly supporting Hillary Clinton. American politics didn’t give me much of a choice than to support Gov Johnson.

But as far as the libertarian thing goes I don’t know what sounds so bad about a small government and personal freedoms.

Someone pointed out what that Cleveland team lost and people didn't seem to agree it was all that relevant or wanted to excuse it. It was all about Lebron so only trying to be fair.

That Bulls team was good no doubt. I've never said otherwise. Jordan had some excellent players with him. Lebron had two greats with him for two of his titles as well. However that is one year we seem to be comparing to one year in Cleveland (where they also lost a lot of guys and basically didn't seem to want to win) as that Heat team wasn't great but not terrible either. The second time Lebron left that team was completely dysfunctional and had their best players injured and not even playing or not wanting to be on the team. If we are going to use context then we need to use it for both guys.

Haven’t you already tried to use the “put Jordan on some of those Lebron teams” argument earlier ITT? Do those arguments “hold more water”?

Im not trying to disprove that LBJ took dogshit teams, and turned them into competitors. I'm saying him doing so, doesn't make him better. Which is why I used the Iggy/Rutgers example.

Like I said, read better.

They do. its a direct comparison. Not an indirect one. Its an eye for an eye argument. Not an eye for a tooth.

Brings up Rutgers vs Iggy Brazdeikas in a Lebron vs Jordan debate and then has the audacity to call something else “eye for a tooth”

Laughing

Because the comparison isn;t a direct comparison....Seems an educated fella as yourself would underestand this.

Not giving LBJ a fair shake? Huh? He's great. I even said how blessed I was to get to see him, MJ and Kobe in their primes. LBJ is arguably one of the Top 5, if not Top 3 players of all-time. I just don't think he's the GOAT.

I'm not sure how todays NBA guys could defend MJ of his prime. In Jordan's hey day, you damn near had to kill a dude for a foul to be called.

another one of those mythical embellishments of the past that nobody can quantifiably say is true or false so it must be so because somebody said it one time. MJ is universally recognized as one who benefited from superstar treatment...so how does your comment even come close to holding water?

and sure, whatever, the game was more physical then, i guess i remember it that way. or don't I? am i just living in a past that wasn't necessarily reality? is my memory letting me down though? i mean i did live back then. i know LeBron would shit all over the much less athletic competition of the 80s. and were things truly more physical back in the day? and if so then why is MJ even in discussion for greatest ever when wilt obviously did what he did against much "toucher" competition?

And when you compare him to who you think is the GOAT, you don't give him a fair shake. You give MJ the benefit of the doubt on just about everything while hyper-criticizing LeBron.

Kobe better than Bron now? Yikes. I’d make another point but you played obtuse with my first one. Enjoy the new year.

Cant say its true or false? I watched the games then...i watch them now. The game is much, much different. Especially from a physical standpoint.

LeBron would shit over a less athletic NBA of the 80's/90's? You mean those non athletic dudes like Jordan, Wilkins, Drexler, Magic, Nance, Pippen, Miller, etc, etc....I mean I 'm not saying the game then was more athletic...It WAS NOT. But it wasn't chopped liver. And even then, once you got to the bucket, you had some mean ass mother fvckers waiting.

Don’t forget big mean Greg Ostertag was waiting at the rim two years in a row in the Finals. Unbelievable MJ survived, let alone won. Lol

Where have I done this....? I've responded. Am I supposed to support LBJ, when defending MJ? I did not know that how disagreements worked.

LBJ is great. Top 5....Top 3. Maybe Top 2. He's won with some doo-doo teams. I still do not think hes better. I mean outside of calling better, what else would you like me to say?

and even if what you say is true you gonna say MJ didn't get preferential, star treatment? he benefitted from it as much as he didn't.

One of the most dominant power forwards in the 80s...
