7th Annual College Basketball Draft

TKR belongs there. Edey's a round 2 guy. Hell, I might take Mason Gillis in front of him too.

I'll join if you need anymore.

Awesome. That would put us at 11. Would be nice to get one more, just to have even numbers.

i bet @duckboy33 wants it, he just probably hasn't logged on in a bit. Might be his week to clean all the human feces off the sidewalk in Portland.

Great! We now have 12 participants - and all power 6 conferences are represented.

I'll simulate the draft order later on today - and I promise I'll keep simulating if somehow I have the best average.

We could probably start the actual draft on Sunday or Monday. For those who haven't participated, you have 24 hours on the clock. After that, the next poster is welcome to jump ahead of you and select somebody.

Alright, here are the simulations. I had the best averages after 3 sims - then I did another 2, and my lead actually increased. I don't want to spend 15-30 minutes inputting data until my average drops below the lead.

I think I'm just going to trade down, and I'll start with @IUfanBorden. Would you like to swap and have the 1st overall pick? Your picks would currently be 2nd for Round 1, and 23rd for round 2. I have 1 & 24 - and we'd be switching the order for the entire draft.

Now, for the grand prize which one is @WeAreDePaul and which one is @dukedevilz ?

If you want to just swap with me so I can get TKR, I'd be down for that.

@WeAreDePaul Literally the only time the National Player of the Year was taken 1st overall in these drafts was during the 2020-21 season when @WojoRising gifted you the first pick and voluntarily chose to take the last pick.

I already said I would trade down. You and @boilerzz have already expressed interest. Any others? I'll do another simulation tomorrow evening to see who I trade down with. Like this post or let me know if you're interested.

So, the final-final draft order will be revealed tomorrow evening after I trade down.

Let's start the draft on Monday morning.

@dukedevilz what’s your take on the CBB Almanac as a whole? I think the concept of the layout and approach has so much potential, and I greatly appreciate the depth they offer for mid-majors like Binghamton, Le Moyne, etc. In regard to small schools, I think they’re FAR superior to Blue Ribbon.

I feel the quality of analysis varies a bit too much from school to school, but I guess that’s to be expected. They are opinions, after all. Was curious how you felt about them, though.

@dukedevilz --

Im back. Had some log in issues.

What do I need to do?

I'll do a sim later on tonight with you and the 3 others. The winner will get the #1 pick and I'll trade down.

Love the Almanac. It's worth the $20. Also, love listening to the Field of 68 and Three Man Weave Podcasts... those groups all contribute to the Almanac. The one downside of the Almanac is they just have one guy covering a single conference, as opposed to getting multiple perspectives.

Here's the final simulation where I'm trading down with the winner. Kind of anti-climatic; doesn't change a whole lot.

#2 Kyle Filipowski, Duke

I previously mentioned we'd start Monday at 8 am. Let's just say the 24-hour clock doesn't start until then. If this speeds the draft up a little, I'm fine with that.

@WojoRising is up - and that clock won't officially count against you until 19 hours from now.
