Who are the golfers here and how do you shoot?

Always one my favorite swings to watch. He and Ernie Els were just so freaking smooth and hit it forever.
Took me a long time to realize that I didn't need a ridiculously fast swing speed to hit the ball a long way. I got much better a few years ago when I shortened and slowed down my backswing and focused on hitting through the ball. And I hit the ball with the sweet spot so much more frequently.

I now hit my 7 iron 175 when it used to be my 150 club. And when my baby draw is working and I'm getting some roll, I'm hitting my driver 260 consistently and up to 290 when I really pipe one.

When Anika Sorenstam was playing, she was the same way. She would swing so effortelessly and just crush it, and straight as shit. I think many of us low level players make the game too hard for ourselves. You arent John Daily and never will be. I would rather hit it 200 straight down the center then 300 into the woods.

Played 9 after work. Shot 45. Doubled the first 3 holes. Got it together & played better. Birdied the 9th.

Fvck that, that sounds miserable. I enjoy pointing at the ground in front of me with the club head.

Heading out Monday. Trying to make it a regular thing, but lets get through one round first. Teacher, so plan to golf my ass off this summer again. Been awhile, probably 15 years since I hit em more than a couple times a year, usually outings.

Edit: Every time I post, I see Roy and miss him.

In a ABCD scramble im a strong C player. Not the worst player but certainly not the best either. I have more good moments than bad but I love playing more than anything else. We usually have anywhere from 12 to 16 players every weekend that play. If any of you have never been to Dale Hollow Lake State Park to play it’s worth the drive if you’re close. Nice course! Plus one of my best friends in the newly hired club house pro!!!

I usually do two trips a year to Dale Hollow. That is one my top 3 favorite courses I have played in Ky. We usually do a spring and a fall trip and play 27-36 holes each day, then go to Mike's Landing Marina to finish off the night drinking beer and watching football. If you haven't been there, its only about 20 minutes from Burkesville.

Louisville making themselves look awful this morning. With that said can't wait to go back Sunday and watch the show.

Courses here aren't too bad. The course I usually play is 60 on the weekend. The other one I play the most is 40 and it is a muni but a very tough course that is in excellent shape.

Screw that! A round of golf shouldn’t cost that damn much.

About the same here. Fuzzy has a few courses that you can typically find coupons on or if a certain guy is there will give me a discount but it's usually 100. Same with a casino course down here, it's 120 but all kinds of coupons or deals after 2.

Find a reasonably priced club and join it. I play ~100 rounds a year at my club and it costs about $2700 without cart but I walk most of the time. And my course has 27 holes.

Ancillary benefit of joining a club is you can tell your wife that you need to play so you get your money’s worth.

Just got back from Tennessee and played some not so easy courses that I didn't score well on. Shot well but gave away so many strokes. Wind River, Avalon, Kahite, and Toqua. Shot in the low 90s to mid 90s, if I had a brain would have been mid to high 80s.

Had a fantastic time in South Bend golfing all weekend. Me and a buddy stayed with another buddy of ours. His wife passed about 5 years ago, he had 3 college aged boys at the time so he turned his house into a frat house. Place is always full of kids, even when his own kids aren't around. He also turned his dining room into a golf sim.

so we spent the weekend hanging at the frat house and playing golf at South Bend Country Club. Haven't touched a club since August and don't do ranges so I was coming in cold. Very happy with the results. Played 36 on Friday and shot 94 and 93. Next day we played the Notre Dame course the Warren and I shot an 86 while missing 4 3-footers on the back. Sunday back at SBCC I shot an 82. That's called progress.

Next up I go back to Indiana in a couple weeks, pick my buddy up and drive down to Indy where we are meeting 10 people flying in from Florida. Playing in Indy and then the next day heading to French Lick. Going to be an awesome trip.

Will try and get out a few times before then, but even if I don't I feel good going into the weekend just based on the way I finished up this past weekend.

Been to Sulphur Creek many times man. Like you said, I’m only 20 mins from it. Great atmosphere. One of my best friends is the new clubhouse pro. His name is Travis and is cool as hell. Maybe I’ll run into you some day.

Going to Salt Creek in Indiana for a stay and play trip in about 3 weeks. Still detoxing from my golf trip last week.

Played in our annual Memorial Day Scramble at the club. Damn good golfers in it. I'm an 11 HCP and am a mid-pack D player. Several plus HCP's among the A's and the club pro (who plays as a 0). My team ended up going to a playoff against a team led by our club pro. Both teams ended up with essentially the same 10 footer for birdie. I was the first guy up and drained it. The opposing team (including the club pro) all missed.

Ended up pocketing about $340 yesterday. It was a good day.

Got in a couple rounds this weekend. First up played a nice redone muni course a few minutes from my house. Struggled with the driver only hitting 2 fairways all day (usually I'm north of 50% on that), but played pretty well otherwise. Birdied 2 par5s on the front, but followed both up with double bogeys. finished with an 85.

Yesterday played in Scotland. Not really, but basically. 58 degrees, no sun and 25 mph wind on a course built atop an old landfill so no protection from the elements. And it poured the day before so no run in the fairways. Much better with the driver as the draw came back, but ball striking was awful in those conditions with my bad back. Fat shots, thin shots, skulled greenside chips, topped drive. All in all, I drained a 25 foot putt on 18 to save a 98 lol.

After 6 rounds my index is 12.8 so looks like I'll be getting a good amount of strokes on my golf trip next week.
