TV/video games/movies off season thread

The Night Agent on Netflix. Anyone watch it? I binged it this week, found it to be pretty good.

I don't have room on my dance card for "pretty good". Too many great things on TV these days to settle for ok.

Other than Succession which I watch every Sunday night, struggling to find anything really "great" on tv. Snowfall final season has been pretty good, can't think of much else.

Snowfall is another one I won't watch cause I've never heard anyone say anything better about it than "it's ok" or "it's pretty good."

As far as shows that I consider great, there's a lot of them. Not all are current in terms of episodes still coming out, but all are within the last year....

The Boys
Marvelous Mrs Maezel
Last of Us
Drive to Survive
Barry
Ted Lasso
Fauda
Mandolorian
Andor (watching it now, not sure if it reaches Great status)
Last Kingdom
Last Chance U
Russian Doll (haven't watched new season yet)
Flight Attendant (ditto)
Lupin

Probably a bunch more, but that's just off the top of my head.

Mandalorian has been dog shit this season. Last episode was decent.

Ted Lasso was good for 1 season, Andor is fine but I wouldn't call it great. Never understood why people thought Andor was so amazing, it was fine.

Last of Us and the Boys I agree but there aren't any new episodes out right now.

Miss Mazel has been meh for a couple seasons, hoping this one is better.

The rest I haven't seen or couldn't get into. Probably going to watch Cocaine Bear tonight on Peacock, heard it's ok.

The Boys

I hadnt watched any of this and my son says " Dad, check out this clip " and its the cocaine scene with the guy who can shrink himself. Once basketball ends it will be binged this summer lol. One of the more hilarious things I have watched in a while.

The Boys is the shit. It's not even remotely close to the comics but still good. Cocaine Bear was trash.

not happy to hear that about Mando. I haven't started it yet. still working my way through Andor. So far I agree with you on Andor, but I'm only 2 episodes in.

I like Ted Lasso, but understand the argument that it went down. It's definitely leaned into it's chick side of things a lot more the last couple seasons.

I'm a big fan of Mazel. haven't started this season yet.

Of all the ones I recommend the one I recommend the most is Last Kingdom. 5 seasons and now a series finale movie that just came out. It's outstanding from start to finish.

I'm not a big fan of.. traditional writing to where every betrail comes out. It's ok with some secrets remaining deviant f'n backstabbing secrets. I'm still catching up on Succession, just got my internet back last night.

The Boys ( haven't watched passed season 1. Not gave up)

Marvelous Mrs Maezel (wife or I never got into it)

Last of Us (wife loves it)

Drive to Survive (thanks for turning me on to it)

Barry (see above)

Ted Lasso (see above)

Fauda (googling)

Mandolorian (it's ok, still watch it)

Andor (watching it now, not sure if it reaches Great status) ( will check out season two)

Last Kingdom (heard nothing but great things, I can't watch everything at once, will watch this eventually)

Last Chance U (usually put this on when going to bed)

Russian Doll (haven't watched new season yet) (googling)

Flight Attendant (ditto) (couldn't get into it. wife show, that's not a slight, she's more picky than me. I still haven't watched SOA, Peaky Blinders or Schinlidlers list)

Lupin (googling)

I'm still on episode two of Succession. It takes me forever to get through a show. Drives my wife nuts.

We'll watch something and I'll change the oil in the car and come back to it.

If we imagine a comic book sitcom in the style of Evil Dead where Barry and Jason Voorhees are the main characters, we can expect a lot of humor, gore, and action.

Barry is a character known for his witty remarks and sarcasm, while Jason Voorhees is a silent but deadly killer. In this scenario, we could see Barry constantly making jokes and trying to outsmart Jason, while Jason silently stalks and dispatches his victims.

The plot could revolve around a group of teenagers who unwittingly summon both Barry and Jason while trying to perform a dark ritual. Barry could be summoned accidentally, while Jason is intentionally summoned by one of the teenagers.

Throughout the comic book, we could see Barry and Jason engaging in hilarious and violent battles, with Barry using his intelligence and quick wit to try to defeat Jason. Meanwhile, Jason would simply stalk his victims and dispatch them in brutal ways.

The Evil Dead universe could be woven into the story, with Barry and Jason encountering the Necronomicon and various demonic entities. There could also be cameos from other characters from the Evil Dead franchise, such as Ash Williams.

Overall, a Barry vs. Jason Voorhees comic book sitcom in the style of Evil Dead would be a wild and entertaining ride, full of gore, humor, and action.

I was a big fan, enjoyed the movie as well. Fox ****ed that show from the beginning. They played shows out of order, moved their time slot and days the episodes aired, etc.
those ****ers at FOX did the same thing to me and my reality show after 9/11. Changed the release date after months of advertising a 9/11/01 premiere date. Ok, maybe that part was unavoidable. But, then when they did put the show on a couple weeks later they rushed it out and had two weeks where the episodes were on back to back nights which killed any water cooler momentum they hoped to pick up.

I still say to this day no one was hurt worse by 9/11 than me. The people who died, their pain was over right away. I had to live with not being a massive TV star for the past 20+ years.

Tornado or something?
Yeah, least of my worries right now. The other was a lightning strike during a snowstorm. It took out my PC, monitor, tv, and all my fans All my surge protectors. This just took out everything in my kitchen, living room, and bedroom.

BIL is letting me use on of his (game ready) PC's....and I'm sleeping on my living room floor. Back to basics.

found a great competition reality show on Netflix. Outlast. 16 people stranded in Alaska, form teams of 4 and basically try and live and drive the other people to quit. Last person/team standing gets $1,000,000.

I've got one ep left and it's been a fantastic show. More cut throat than any reality show I've ever seen. There are literally no rules and some of the people take full advantage of that.

As far as reality shows go this is top tier.
