Socialism doesn't work...

Sorry, don’t buy it. Nobody is stuck. Sometimes it’s just harder to get out for some than others.
You don't buy it, because you don't know or care to know about the hardships. You think with a little bit of elbow grease "anything is possible", "it's their fault they're stuck". You're widely misinformed, and will never understand. Just don't go around making false statements about something you don't understand.

Dude, not everyone has a means of transportation to get across town where jobs are present. That's my whole point on systemic racism, keep black people in an area of town with no bus systems that run anywhere near the other side of town where jobs are attainable. That's just an example of Louisville's West End. You don't believe me, next time i'm in town i'll show you around if you live in a close by city.
I just read an excuse. I'm driving 20 mile farther, for less pay. But you don't give up just because you have challenges.

And you are more than comfortable to assume that people are helpless, largely by their own decisions, when in fact there are always ways to get out. You don’t want them to have to work hard to do it. I get it. It’s easier to ask for a handout. I know enough to understand there are always ways out. People just don’t want to do what it takes because, well, it’s hard.

I mean, it's not hard to find work if you absolutely need it. Go door to door and offer to rake leaves, shovel snow, do manual labor, etc. Get on craigslist and search for odd jobs, in a big city there's always gonna be something to do close to you. Walk 5 miles to an area of town where there is work and walk the 5 miles back. Save up for a bicycle to improve your situation. It's gonna suck at first but each day you get out there and do anything you don't want to do it's going to improve your situation in life.
Lol, sorry bud, its a good 8 mile walk into downtown, where jobs are minimum wage, and that's exactly what these folks are doing. You don't think they're going to libraries and applying to jobs? They are. The highlighted part cracked me up, you've obviously never been around the West End of Louisville, there's literally nothing. Old shut down factories, buildings that once stood but are tarnished, no mom and pop stores, nothing but liquor stores and pawn shops..I wonder why that is...

Well, if Johnny refuses to even pay it in small installments, then they can take legal action and ultimately garnish the poor bastard's wages. You act like this doesn't happen.

Not to mention, if the bills weren't so outrageous, more people would be willing to pay.

There are many problems with healthcare in this country, but hospital greed is #1. Propagandists zero in on the smaller factors.

The biggest problems with healthcare that I see are abuse of emergent care and physicians over-providing to cover their ass of any possible litigation down road.

You just don't understand it, I get it. Your scapegoat argument is "handout this, handout that". Must be convenient. I'd love for you to enlighten some of these people with your rhetoric in person. I'm sure they'd get a kick out of it.

Then do whatever you can to get out of that area. If they can’t, it’s likely their own bad decisions that got them there.

Sounds like another reason to hate Louisville to me.

It would probably help them. Again, nobody is ever stuck, with no possible way to better themselves. It just doesn’t work that way.

No its systemic racism. I'll link a history of Louisville's West End post civil war. You should read it.
Lol. No it’s not. This is the funniest excuse yet because there isn’t a shred of reality to back up your claim of fake systemic racism.

By the way, I though you were in San Fran. Did I remember that wrong?

You bitch and moan all of the time, your words mean nothing mr. steel toed cry baby.
Neither bitching or moaning. Unlike you and your excuses for not working. Well, well I have to get up to work..and, and put clothes on. And, and work. Cry cry cry.

You cry and bitch every time someone says something about their line of work. I work hard and make a lot of money, but I also have two degrees in a field of study that I put time and effort into. Sad you can't say the same. I guess blame the Mexicans again for stealing your jerrrrb!! hahaha

Are you saying it's impossible to get out of Louisville's West End if you were born and raised there?

It is though, it's factual history. Your blanket excuse for them being lazy is the hysterical part to me. If you don't know about something, don't respond. Which is exactly what you're doing.
Wrong. I know enough and I just don’t believe in this fake systemic racism excuse. It’s people unwilling to do what is necessary to get themselves out of a bad situation.

Yes. A few friends of mine grew up in the West End, and eventually got enough grants for a scholarship to UofL to get room and board paid for. Most aren't so lucky. Especially with the lack of solid education in the West End, most will never garner that opportunity.

By the way, I just google mapped the distance between Big Momma's Soul Kitchen in the West End to the YUM! Center and it was 4.9 miles. 8 miles is fake news.

Big Mamas is on 45th and Broadway and is a family owned bbq joint that feeds everyone in the neighborhood during the holidays. Yeah, they're really a hiring hotbed.

But, they can study hard in school and get a high school deploma. Then work to save up for a college (online if they have to). If they can’t save for it, go to the military for a handful of years and then your schooling will be free. Problem solved. See how easy that was???

Cool, you have a degree that you don't utilize.
How do you know me so well? Let me guess. With your political and social conciousness you donate most of your time and money for the less fortunate? Am I right? Have I figured you out?

But it's pretty far west of downtown to the point that Google Maps says it's almost on the river. And it looks like everything else in between it and downtown is the West End. So what I'm saying is the furthest point west of the West End is 4.9 miles from downtown when you said it's a good 8 mile walk. See what's going on here now?

In the mean time, who's paying for their food, lights gas and electricity while they're doing all of this?

Well, believe what you want. I gave you solid real world facts, you blindly deny them.
Nah, I live in a major city, bigger than Louisville, and can see things for myself. My sister also works with under privileged children in bad parts of town. I know plenty. It’s more of a mentality than anything else. People just assume it’s impossible to get out of those situations. Because they THINK they can’t get out they end up turning to things that get them in trouble and the cycle continues. But again, it’s not impossible. It’s just hard work.

Well, when they’re in high school their parents should be paying for that stuff. Lol

The West End stretches past Broadway, and the Yum center is on 2nd Street. That also stretches up to Butchertown and the Highlands. So yeah, 8 miles.

Old louisville is also considered a part of downtown, hill street starts from floyd and goes all the way past park hill, and park duvall onto the california neighborhood and victory park. That's a hell of a lot further than 4.9 miles. So your google maps start and go coordinates are somewhat laughable. Laughing

Who's to say they're not? Or that said student isn't working either to support the meager space they inhabit?
Cool. So they’ve got some of the basic essentials to get them through high school. Go to the service, serve your time, make some money and then have your schooling paid for. Again, problem solved.

Shively is 8 miles to downtown per google maps. Is that apart of the West End?

What’s keeping them in those dead end areas? They’re not required by law to stay there. They can move out of those areas if there aren’t any jobs. If they can’t even do that, then I would likely question decisions they made when they were younger regarding education and things like that.

Nobody is absolutely stuck. Some just don’t want to do what it takes to get themselves out of bad situations. They would rather have people do it for them.
How do people with no money get to where they can make money?

So every black kid from the West End just needs to join the service, due to their lack of surrounding resources or city structure that caters to white people? Got it.
