THose days are here. IU will have a really goof trio of Morgan(if he returns), Smith and Langford. THe frosh are solid. I look for Indiana to be really solid next year. And for the years to come. Miller's just getting started.
Hope you are correct Borden.

“The way they phrased it, it was whoever [shoe company] was going to pay the dad’s AAU program the most money, gets it,” said Pitino in a recent phone interview. A few days later, Adidas’s league added a new team: Twenty Two Vision, featuring Romeo Langford on the court and Tim Langford as team director. Shoe company sponsorships can reach $100,000 to $150,000, and team directors who limit expenses can pay themselves salaries from those amounts.

“That’s the way that world works,” Pitino said. “Which is completely legal, by the way.”

“Kansas, it pushed it out for me (talking about the scandal”, Tim Langford said. “Just having the name on your school. I didn’t take them out of the three verbally, but in my mind we just didn’t want him going there and anybody asking him that type of question. So, we don’t want him going to school there, we don’t care how good the basketball is.”

“(Adidas) knew that Nike and Under Armour were going to make a run for him,” Pitino said. “I didn’t want him going to Nike or Under Armour .?.?. because then, he would’ve gone to Kentucky or somewhere else. .?.?. I would’ve had no chance.”

Isn't IU adidas?

Strangely enough the team created specifically for Langford won’t compete on the adidas circuit this spring and summer.

Hes opening up the grey area. Funny how he knows so much about Romeo and others, but didn't know Bowen got paid. Pitino really is the worst kind of person on this planet.
It's easy to discredit Pitino, but the story is still there. Miller is right there with his brother and knows how to recruit 5*'s

I am not discrediting Pitino. I just find it funny he knows so much about one player but knew nothing about another.

Tell me where Indiana did anything wrong in this? I assume you think Duke was in the wrong because of Bagley?

Why would you assume that?

The Washington Post article came out today.

This is perfectly legal. We already had a discussion about this on the board a long time ago and everyone knew this was happening.

Funny, you are making a big deal about this when Nike did the exact same thing for Bagley...and welp...he ended up at Duke a Nike School.

I'm not making a big deal. I just linked a Washington Post article from today.

Nothing to worry about. Indiana still won’t win a conference title next year and Romeo will be gone the following year.

*plays dumb*

Own it or don’t talk about it.

Exactly. You can't punish a school for this not named UL.

Well see Pitino remembers this meeting with adidas and has the text messages to prove it. However he doesn't remember, know of, or have anything to do with a meeting with Adidas to discuss the arrangement of money to Bowen for his commitment. He just lucky on that one, how unlucky whichever side you're on.

Again, exactly. Pitino is the greatest witness to have against you.

His credibility is shit.

Wonder why....this is why I was so adamant about Langford being a Card until the whole FBI thing happened. It was the same situation with Nike and Bagley. Completely in line with the NCAA rules, none broken. We had the location AND the Adidas brand for Langford. He was coming to Louisville. He’d honestly be at KU right now had they not gone under the bus. The only contender and Adidas school left? Indiana. He was never NEVER going to a school that wasn’t Adidas branded.

This is stupid that the NCAA allows this, but it does happen all the time and will keep happening all the time until the NCAA doesn’t allow it, which won’t happen. The shoe company brands an entire AAU team designed around 1 player but because it’s an AAU team, it’s ok.

Totally agree with this minus the KU part. It was either Indiana or KU that is for sure. He was never going to Vandy.
