88 is your non-conference SOS. Dropping in that now has nothing to do with playing MSU. It means that the teams that jumped you played teams in their non-conference who are moving higher in Kenpom, and/or the teams you played in your non-con are dropping in rankings.
If I played a team that was the 20th best in my noncon and they lose and move to 30th, my noncon SOS goes down. Similarly, if the team below me played the 21st best team and that team wins and moves up, their noncon SOS goes up and mine goes down.
thx just was under the impression was the entire season SOS.
in some cases teams can't control who they play, annual rivalry games
ISU ussually better than this year
Cincinnati better as a rule beat them last March in the NCAAT
Syracuse better as a rule ACC/BT Challenge
TT just played for the NT but are not as good but it was a good team on paper.
SDSU just lost their 1st game after reaching a top 5 ranking.
the other team that were part of the LV Invitational no control
DePaul was supposed to be better this year but it was beyond Fran's control as it was part of the Gavitt games BE/BT Challenge.
this years schedule looked like the strongest in a long time, even before Fran got here, hoping that next season they will be invited to the Maui Classic.
with a better ISU, ACC/BT Challenge matchup, BE/BT Challenge and another Neutral site game like Cincinnati. Fran and Barta have both stated they want to upgrade the OOC.
