Painter is stacking talent. No need for newman this year.I’m not yet sure I’d this says more about Newman or the guys in front of him.

Proctor looked pretty comfortable out there. Hated seeing Eastern looking gimpy on his foot and now his wrist. Pretty sloppy but definitely some upside potential. 37.001 from three or better looking like a real possibility- time will tell.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Smith has a good year, potential has always been there.Kind of the same for me with Justin Smith. Don't expect that every night, but his confidence seemed higher on the offensive end. He's always been solid defensively, but he just played with more confidence offensively. Good to know they're capable of this level of production, even though it won't be a night in night out kind of deal.
oh it definitely played a big factor. Without Proctor, I just don’t think the depth is there to justify redshirting Newman. No doubt. Perhaps Painter knew what kind of player he had in Proctor which helped justify the Newman decision?
Yeah I was really impressed with Proctor. He’s obviously a below-the-rim player so I’m curious to see how he does with more advanced competition but he appears to be a solid decision maker. He really is like Terone Johnson with a prettier jumpshot. Hunter looked great, his jump shot had a quicker release which shows more confidence.Had a knack for getting open down low, and he can score from all 3 levels. Like you said he obviously won’t sustain this but he really fills a need for us.
Hunter also appears to have made big strides.
I think we’re gonna have some ugly offensive games early but I like the pieces. Defensively this team could be very very good.
Wisconsin should be alright. No shame in losing in overtime to a ranked team.
DumbMatt haarms= an elite man's frank kaminsky
Or another option @pig1960
Anything between 37.00 and 37.99 is a push. I win at 36.99 and under you win at 38.00 and over.
that actually does sound like a good compromise.

Make it 38% and you’re on old man.If anyone sees Hail or Snu around tell them I’ll take the over on 37.5% Purdue 3pt FG % for the 2019-2020 regular and post season. Men’s basketball FTR. 37.5% is a push. The wager is lifetime ban for the loser(s) from the Rivals cbb board. I’ll only take it if they both accept it.
I have a hunch the loudmouth trolls will be too chickenshit to accept.
you just don’t see guys redshirt often especially after a team replaces so much. Odds his shirt gets pulled this year?

Doubt it’ll get pulled unless there are serious injuries IMO.
He’s struggling that much? Hrmmm
That or there simply aren’t a ton of minutes available at the 2/3 when you factor in Proctor, Hunter, and Sasha. Prob a combo of both.
Ehh just find it hard to believe. I thought he was rated higher than Franklin and quite a bit better shooter.

Do you think Franklin would play before Sasha, Hunter and Proctor?Ehh just find it hard to believe. I thought he was rated higher than Franklin and quite a bit better shooter.
Should make it easy for them.interesting that Painters teams have only been over 37.5% in 4 of his 12 years.
Should make it easy for them.
He just put up 8 assists and no turnovers in his first game. Seems he’s more prepared to play than Newman.Do you think Franklin would play before Sasha, Hunter and Proctor?
Take the bet at 38% pussy. You said 38% plus is achievable. Don’t back down now. That’s what I figured.
Love the Husky theme you got going on.
I was initially confused why one would talk up a game vs Western Illinois. After all, they are ranked 296 on KenPom and beat just 8 D1 teams last year. Then I realized one of those 8 wins was against Fort Wayne. He just put up 8 assists and no turnovers in his first game. Seems he’s more prepared to play than Newman.
Weak. Try harder.I was initially confused why one would talk up a game vs Western Illinois. After all, they are ranked 296 on KenPom and beat just 8 D1 teams last year. Then I realized one of those 8 wins was against Fort Wayne.
If they beat Fort Wayne, they must be legit. Not everyone can beat Fort Wayne!!
Weak. Try harder.
After looking, LOL at your post when GB is 196.
Not really. What’s that say about Newman that he’s not even ready enough to play against that joke of an opponent.I haven't talked up a Purdue player after beating a middling mid-major. I definitely wouldn't after beating a joke of an opponent.
I like Franklin too but using a game against Western Illinois to compare players is comically stupid.
That would burn his redshirt. Has nothing to do with the opponentNot really. What’s that say about Newman that he’s not even ready enough to play against that joke of an opponent.
Ahh I see where you’re going with it now. Haha
if this helps with us getting the higher ranked player and better shooter, im fine with it.
We’re on Rivals so I’m citing Rivals rankings. Went from unranked to as high as 75th in the country after his great shooting display last summer.

Do we wanna make a charity bet on what freshman shoots better from 3 this year? I’ll take Newman you take Franklin.
Ok. Then Newman is still 60 spots ahead of Franklin. Newman is still considered one of the best shooters in his class. He had an impressive sustained shooting display last summer in the AAU games he played. Why Rivals gave him a nice bump. I’ll take Newman over Franklin in regards to shooting for sure.
Newman is an elite shooter with tons of athleticism and potential. Franklin is terone johnson lite.
Ban bet that Franklin shoots a higher % than Newman? That’s an easy win for you.
Newman>franklin. By alot too.
The reason Newman is ranked 55 spots higher than Franklin is because he's regarded as one of the top shooters in the Midwest. Franklin, while solid in most areas, is not at Newman's level as a shooter.
Doesn’t have a great feel for the game? Hmm
I’m interested to see who amongst them plays more minutes next year.
Do you think Franklin would play before Sasha, Hunter and Proctor?
Dude....are you honestly going to act like for your first game ever in college you put up 8 assists 0 turnovers 5 pts and 5 rebounds and it isn't one hell of a game? It doesn't matter 2ho it's against... Most teams schedule cupcakes for their 1st opponent of the season and you rarely ever see a freshman do that in their first game.I haven't talked up a Purdue player after beating a middling mid-major. I definitely wouldn't after beating a joke of an opponent.
