Yeah? Considering we've gotten two 5* in-state kids the last two years and multiple other ranked in-state kids, why are we not in a position to be picky?I don’t think IU is in a position to be so picky. Especially with in-state kids.

I tend to be a little skeptical of shooting translating when kids have that funky of shots, and said as much back when he was being recruited. He'll need that shot to come back around to be an impactful 3 imo.
For Ivey, I just like when Painter gets combo guards. They've worked out well for him, and he hasn't been able to land many true PGs.
Because your teams have been poorly constructed and have yielded 0 results from those 5 stars.Yeah? Considering we've gotten two 5* in-state kids the last two years and multiple other ranked in-state kids, why are we not in a position to be picky?
Well, one of those five star kids hasn't played yet so of course he hasn't yielded any results. My point was that it doesn't seem as though we have to be picky with instate kids as we've gotten who we've wanted (mostly) regardless of your views on roster construction and results.Because your teams have been poorly constructed and have yielded 0 results from those 5 stars.

Yep. i think Painter’s has some appeal to those kids...and he’s targeting them in almost every class.Seems that the number of true PGs is dwindling each year with combo rising.
Not trolling. Your teams have sucked recently. Recruiting has had something to do with that. You’re getting 5 stars and are still struggling. That’s a problem.Terrible trolls are gonna be terrible at trolling

galloway shot 26 percent from 3 and 59 percent from the line this seasonWill be interesting to see him this summer. Snow just said this week he wouldn’t offer him. Not as good as Leal or Galloway. He lit up IUs team camp last year but was never consistent in AAU I don’t believe
I’ll trust Painter’s judgment over that fat sack Snow lolWill be interesting to see him this summer. Snow just said this week he wouldn’t offer him. Not as good as Leal or Galloway. He lit up IUs team camp last year but was never consistent in AAU I don’t believe
This is where I'm at. I see a 8 seed type team, but hopefully some guys make some big strides offensively. I do think we'll be tough to score on, get a good number of steals, and impact a lot of shots.I just don't think there's enough offense unless Wheeler turns into a stud, but the defense should be long and suffocating. I don't think it's impossible to end up there, but I'm in wait and see. I think the following year will be very good for you.
Just love the fact he’s piling shooters upon shooters with each class. Pair good shooting with his defensive principles/putting players in a position to succeed and good things happen. This is where I'm at. At the same time, it's hard to doubt Painter. We lost Hammons and Davis, got better. Lost Biggie, got better. Lost Mathias/Haas/PJ/Vince, [arguably] got better. You'd think it'd catch up, but he's starting to look Bo-like.
could be wrong but i think snow said eastern wasn't athletic coming out of high schoolI’ll trust Painter’s judgment over that fat sack Snow lol

Yeah he’s had some good hot takes over the years. I in general respect his analysis but he strikes a nerve with me the way he loves to tear people down while hiding behind a keyboard.could be wrong but i think snow said eastern wasn't athletic coming out of high school
Who is IU recruiting the hardest for 2020?As you should. Just stating what was said
Agree on the shooters, and he seems to be targeting more length as well.Just love the fact he’s piling shooters upon shooters with each class. Pair good shooting with his defensive principles/putting players in a position to succeed and good things happen.
TBH, I think you'll have multiple guys contribute big throughout the year. Meaning, you won't have one or two guys average 18 ppg or anything, but you'll have multiple guys capable of putting up 20 plus on any given night. So one night Wheeler will carry the team and the next Newman or Haarms might. I'm guessing it's way more balanced. But I can get on board with an 8 seed type. Think that's fair. This is where I'm at. if you can't shoot, that's an issue. There are exceptions and Nojel has turned into a good player without one, but if you're shooting as poorly as Galloway, it's not a good sign if you want to play in the Big Ten imoGalloway isn’t known as a shooter though. I guess he based that on overall play. The 2020 state of Indiana class is about as weak as they come
He also said Eastern would never be a P5 point guard and he just played PG for a P5 team in the Elite Eight.could be wrong but i think snow said eastern wasn't athletic coming out of high school

Dawson Garcia as wellMorton, Love, Leal, Saunders
I am sure I will be able to add 277 names to this list after this weekend.
He's shot very well so far this spring. With that being said, I'd pass on him. We should have offered Leal already.if you can't shoot, that's an issue. “B1G_Fan” aka IU fan. Ok that makes sense. Good to know. He's shot very well so far this spring. With that being said, I'd pass on him. We should have offered Leal already.
To be fair, Purdue doesn't have a typical PG. The motion offense prevents that. For example, Nojel was 3rd on your team in assists behind Carsen and Cline. He also said Eastern would never be a P5 point guard and he just played PG for a P5 team in the Elite Eight.
Did I ever say I wasn't an IU fan? You can be a fan of a B1G team while also being a fan of the conference said team plays in.“B1G_Fan” aka IU fan. Ok that makes sense. Good to know.

Is @B-Westy one of the least informed posters on the board? His takes are only worsted by the 60+ year old who has had a stroke.
Hausers update. It sounds like they are done to MSU if a certain player who averages 0 points a game loses his academic eligibility due to grades.
If said player doesn’t and nobody else unexpected leaves we are probably rolling into the season with an open spot and no hausers.
Yeah he’s a PG essentially because he brings it up and gets us into sets/motion, similar to what Octeus did a couple years ago and even PJ. The value we get out of him is that he can guard 1-4 and he gets us extra possessions and garbage buckets just by being so much bigger than the guy guarding him. But I’m not sure he works at the 1 if we don’t have a combo alongside him, which we pretty much always will.Yea I'm not sure I'd actually classify him as a true PG. He's more like a point forward, utility wing. Was top20 in assists / assists per game / assist rate (both Carsen and Cline were in all 3 categories). Very good defender and can do a little of everything
