Dopirak was tweeting some of this, not ideal. also sounds like Durham is the primary pg and that Franklin is playing very well early.

Hopefully he can be ready for the opener. The schedule is set up for this though. The team can battle some injuries in November. December not so much.

Franklin and his defense will be what helps get him on the floor (besides injuries)

Race has been getting some praise from Archie as well.

After reading some information on the scrimmages the B10 teams had, I was thinking about the different tiers of teams. I still think MSU is out in front and Maryland and OSU are on the next tier. After that, I think it's a big group of teams Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Purdue. Not sure on the order of the last group but it seems to me any of those teams can finish at the front of that group of the back.

Anyone else have their minds changed at all after the scrimmages?

Shit no. Iowa is still going to suck hard.

I’ll need to actually watch some games before I change my mind on anything about the teams. The good news is we’re not far away.

Phinisee is playing tonight, no Green or Durham. Anderson and Thompson both look like they will be capable contributors of the bench this season.

MSU is playing against Albion right now in exhibition on BTN Plus. Kithier has supposedly looks very good so far. Bingham not so much.

this is the starting 5 for Iowa that is being posted the most
1 RSSR Evelyn backup RSSO Connor/FR Toussaint
2 SR Jordan backup RSFR Fredrick
3 SO Wieskamp backup FR Patrick
4 RSSO Nunge backup RSJR Pemsl
5 JR Garza backup SR Kriener
off the bench if needed RSJR Till

the feeling is that Jordan will play

I know it’s early, but we’re hearing good things about Armaan Franklin. Think he’s gonna be able to contribute this year.

Kind of the opposite w/ Newman. Sounds like he's well behind Proctor/Hunter (who are battling for a starting spot) and Sasha (who sounds like he's locked down a starting spot). Just struggling to pick up the details at this point.

It’s still early and not a knock on Newman at all but interesting to see how things end up going after the recruiting and discussion over the summer about these two.

Differences between the two programs though. IU needs help at that position right now. Purdue can afford to bring him along slowly if that’s what has to happen. But I think Franklin is going to be a good one regardless.

yeah I’m not sure if Newman was supposed to battle for a starting spot or not but they have time open after losing what 87% of their 3pts made, but maybe he’s just not ready to start. Franklin was always seen behind Green/Phinisee/Durham. Them being injured I’m sure has helped him get some more first team run. He was also seen as more of a defensive guy, seems those types are more ready to roll early on than purely offensive guys.

Not really. Robs the guy....Al is a very good back-up. Devonte can run the point. Franklin is gravy.

Y’all miss the tournament with that backcourt. And yet I’m the homer? Lol
What on earth does this have to do with anything I said about Franklin or our guards?

Your core of guards isn’t anything to write home. Acting like they’re night and day better than what IU has, especially at this point in time, is honestly laughable.

Not night and day better but I think our front court is a lot better.

You never said anything about Franklin or your guards. You rarely say anything of value or substance anymore really. You just called me a drunk homer. So I’m not sure what the hell you’re on about.

I don't know who has the better front court or the back court, honesty. Both teams have a lot of question marks due to young or inexperienced players who will be contributing in a major way. Saying one way or another, at this point, is homerish IMO. That’s why I called out Blaire.
