I understand your down on him and like to try and piss IU fans off but i don't think any lottery pick player will be given up on by a franchise in 2 years, they may trade him but he won't be dumped into the G league. I don't really think he'll be an all star level but he's athletic and young enough to have a long career.

Rivals board is high on him and down on Brunk. Its interesting the difference between the boards.

Same. I cancelled right before Nick was hired, but am also contemplating re-upping.

I continue to try to convince the board idiots that Brunk will be the starter day 1, and they continue to insist it will be Deron...

I don't think you were knocking him. You're taking the wait and see approach which is totally reasonable. I am the same way, to a point. I was relieved a tiny bit to see him play at Hoosier Hysteria. Granted, it's only Hoosier Hysteria, but he looked like can knock down tough shots. He's gonna contribute this year. How much? Could be a lot or a little. Don't know yet.

Nick had some good stuff when he was previously doing from stuff with Peegs if I remember correctly

Hunter will definitely contribute this year as long as he is healthy. I think this is a great take on it. Now, as long as he can stay healthy, next season he could be something special. Phin as a junior, Hunter and TJD as sophs, Smith, Durham, and Brunk as seniors, plus some bench depth of Thompson (jr) Anderson (jr), Franklin (soph), Galloway (fr), Leal(fr), Geronimo (Fr), and things are looking good. Would be nice to add Dawson Garcia to that roster.

Well Rabs had been pumping Brunk up from almost day 1 and Rivals hadn't posted much on him. You can tell the folks who have subs to both. His numbers in the past don't indicate he'll be a for sure starter and have a huge impact but the way rabs has been reporting on him paints a much different story. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I wasnt impressed with Brunk during Hoosier Hysteria. I’d almost categorize it as I was let down a bit. I was expecting more, I guess. Could be because Rabs has been calling him a starter from day 1.

I am not sure how you can get high or low based on that scrimmage. Also that wouldn't be reported if Brunk wasn't beating Davis in practice. If Brunk is the starter and still looks like shit that says a whole hell of a lot more about Davis.

If Brunk is as good as Rabs had reported i think a lot people are going to be surprised on this board.

Not from the Slant, bc I've not been in a couple days, but what I've read/heard the meeting was called by their side and was Todd and fam informing Self of the(ir) decision.

I agree. Not sure what I was expecting but I guess I was hoping for more. But I will wait to see what happens for the season.
 
Any of you ever rent your houses out on VRBO or anything? We are 35 miles from where the Ryder Cup is being played and houses in my area are going for like $400-$800 a night.

If I could get anywhere in that range a night I think I'd do it for the whole damn week.

Travis Carroll is the poster child for why I don't pay attention to recruiting rankings for younger players. He was a top 50 recruit as a freshman and never grew another inch (well, except maybe his waist).

Good dude but bad genetics.

Thought about doing ours for Derby. Providing a shuttle service along with it.
 
Guy I work with is an IU fan. He said he ran into Brunk at a concert at Ruoff and when he came in the next day was like “yeah we’re in trouble if he starts.” Said he thought Brunk looked way too skinny.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if he averaged 7 and 5 though.
