Leaving off Vonleh? Guess it's hard to argue him over any of those guys.

Robert Johnson and Blackmon playing so far below what they were capable of is a pretty big hit to that decade team.

Yeah no thanks to Vonleh, just a sour taste in the mouth from his college days. Turned into a half decent pro though.

You could probably put in JBJ over Hulls but Hulls was just so clutch. I mean he shot 49% from three on 146 attempts as a junior.

Hulls was better. He actually tried to defend. Not a bad help defender as well. Blackmon on defense was like a matador. The clips of him screwing up on defense are comedy.

Hulls was pretty similar to Cline defensively, Hulls just had to play more when he was fresh/soph and teams really picked on him one on one.

I'd want Hulls on pretty much any team over Blackmon though. Watching him try to guard Mathias one game was laughably bad.

Cline also had the benefit of about 7 inches over Hulls too which helped. Was much easier to shoot over Hulls than Cline. But no doubt Blackmon takes the cake. My favorite I think was against ND at the crossroads classic. Believe Pat Connaughton was his responsibility and was wide open in the corner while JBJ was somehow still in the paint haha.

Tough leaving Simpson and Teske off.

Evan Daniels on Nimari Burnett: "Keep in mind Burnett is demanding 30+ minutes a game at a position that he's not. Some unrealistic asks/expectations in this recruitment."

Interesting insight on what goes on in some of these recruitments.
where did Daniels say this? Good thing juwan promised him 30-35mins on his visit.

That team is stacked. When you have Wagner and McGary, I don't think it's very difficult to leave Teske off.

MSU's is pretty stacked as well.

Pretty weak at SG, so I put Brust there.
And I know both Tank and Happ are centers, but they both deserve being on the first-team.

Lol your right I just found it. Juwan is really embracing these high drama type recruitments. Read on a unc site today that unc and uk are barely recruiting Isaiah Todd because they don’t think his recruitment is above board. Guess where he’s taking an official visit in 2 weeks........

I'd put Vonleh over Morgan.

White lost to a bunch of teams “they were better than.”

Murrell visits iowa...immediately commits to Stanford. Lulz.

when you look at it Fran landed White in his 2nd year, the 11 prior years before Fran took over went like this
SA took over for a coach that had just taken his team to the sweet 16 losing to eventual National ChampIon UCONN.
in SA 8 season he had just 3 .500 season in BT play
3 NCAAT with just 1 win
3 NIT
SA best season was a 25 win season in which he got a 3 seed in the NCAAT then lost in the 1st rnd to a 14 seed
there was the Pierce fiasco where he gave him a 2nd chance after a sexual assualt charge was lowered to a simple assault.
the fan base was not happy and stopped going to games
then AD Barta hired the years COY Lickliter the next 3 years went from a dumpster fire to a nuclear meltdown
the fans attendance dropped to between 5000 and maybe 6000 at best
Lick seasons went like this 5-13, 6-12 and 4-14
he ran off players on a yearly basis. in his 1st year he ran off PG Tony Freeman right after he led the team in scoring @13.8 ppg, telling him he can stay and sit on the bench or he can leave BECAUSE he didn't fit the system
he also ran off a 5* 7'0 Center who committed to SA but when SA left he told reporters that he committed to Iowa and not the coach, his scholarship was piled BECAUSE he did not fit Lick's system whatever hell that system was,

after he was fired Fran took over a nuclear waste land that had to be bulldozed down and rebuilt
continued in another post.

I’d pretty much go with the final four team as starters. Everyone else can be on the bench.

I felt that way about the Syracuse debacle team. You do not get many better starting lineups in college than that, but I decided to put Romeo in the top portion over Hulls.

in Fran's 9 Seasons he has done this
had 6 .500 BT seasons
3 NIT's one NIT Championship final in his 3rd season after a NIT appearance in his 2nd season
4 NCAAT 3 Wins
tying the 2nd best win total of 25 with 1 JR Marble, SO White, FR top 100 4* PG Gesell. FR 2* CG Clemmons and 4* top 50 Woodbury who chose Fran over Roy Williams of UNCHEATS for one of the rare recruiting wins for any Iowa coach that Roy wanted out of Iowa.
in a 4 year stretch with 4 straight years of starting they set the 3rd highest win total in Iowa's history, that group went 9-9 BT finishing 6th, 9-9 BT finishing 6th alone, 12-6 3rd place with White as the SR.
then when that FR class were SR's they were 12-6 3rd place that group had just 2 4* players on it when it started

when it ended they had added 3* by Rivals and top 100 4* by ESPN Uthoff,

after those SR's were gone Fran started to get his next group of 4* players by getting Cook top 40 by ESPN, 4* by ESPN Jordan and 4* by ESPN Moss, that group as FR with the lone SR in 3* Jok went 10-8 BT finishing in a tie for 5th saw 3 teams that the beat go to the NCAAT while they got sent to the NIT.
then with no SR's and the addition of 4* ESPN Top 100 Garza and 4* ESPN Top 100 Connor joined that group and they had no SR leadership and Connor RS'ing because being hospitalized they went 4-14
then ESPN Top 100 #42 by Rivals Wieskamp joined the team and Connor came off his RS. that team went 9-9 Winning the 1st game in the BTT and 1 game in the NCAAT. with Baer being the lone SR leader,

this year ESPN 4* Toussaint joins the team and these are coming off of RS seasons
7'0 Nunge was a starter as a FR
6'8 Pemsl was a starter as a FR and SO
6'3 CG Fredrick Kentucky's Gatorade POY originally from Cincinnati Ohio.
RSSR GT Evelyn who originally started his career @ Nebraska

this team is young and getting better, with each recruiting class, with 5 4* recruits [not counting Jordan] vs the just the 2 before this group arrived it is going to be real interesting to see how he does going forward.

Hard to argue too much, but I feel like Leuer over Hayes would make that team stupid good.

He’s on the bench. Hayes could shoot his sophomore year. Very versatile. More bulk. Both good enough.
