“Jumpshot may not be too far away” Also, no Trevion in the top 20? List is shit.

46. Nojel Eastern, PG

Eastern has all the signs of breaking out in a big way in 2019-20. The 6’6” point guard is one of the most unique players in the country and a solid jump shot away from All-American consideration. His development as a free throw shooter as last season wore on hints that the jump shot may not be too far away, either.

Sounds like Rivals is going to update the rankings for the '20 and '21 classes this week. Since we are all a bunch of irrational homers, where does everyone think their commits and targets in '20 end up?

Purdue
Commits:
65 - Jaden Ivey (decent rise - Prev. 87)
80 - Ethan Morton (decent drop - Prev. 64)

Targets:
35 - Hunter Dickinson (relatively same - Prev. 28)
70 - Ryan Kalkbrenner (relatively same - Prev. 69)
95 - Ben Carlson (slight drop/stay same - Prev. 84)

Where is Morton currently? From the tone of Bossi & Evans I’d guess he won’t drop much. I think around 65 is about spot-on for Ivey though.

He's at 64 currently. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he stays in the top 75 following this summer; even though I know Bossi and Evans have stayed bullish on him.

I’m guessing he’ll stick in the top 75 just based on their comments but I may be wrong. I would be surprised if Ivey didn’t jump him though.

When did Rivals last update the 2020 class? I could have sworn they did a few weeks ago that is how Geronimo was ranked for the first time. Maybe I am wrong though.

Our commits are spot on. The other guys, not sure.

Yeah that is why he is going to Indiana over Iowa...

giphy.gif
these would be who he would behind
SO 6'6 Wieskamp #42 [Rivals] BT All FR team
FR 6'8 ParTick #75 [RIvals] started out #21 5* then as Bossi stated needed a elite team to offer to maintain his high Ranking.

he would have been a real nice addition,

oh and these would be in front of him at the 2
6'4 RSFR Fredrick
6'5 RSSO Connor 4*
the needs at the 2 and 3 are very small for the next 2-3 years, there are only 13 scholarships available so you fill the needs, get the best available and/or bank it.

sorry but Fran has 2 players at each position, IMO. key spots to have 3 at are 1, 5 and then bank the 3rd. the 1 could be more of a CG.

so congrats on the commit. the kid is raw but look real good.

hmmm Moss and Cook both left but then again Fran didn't over sign in anticipation of anyone leaving early.

other past players that left with no over signing
RSFR Meyer
FR Ingram
RSJR Dickerson
RSJR Ellingson
RSFR Hutton
SO Fleming
JR Williams
JR Wagner
RSJR Moss
JR Cook
and he never oversigned, you don't over sign unless you are planning on running somebody off.
Is it bad that I have no idea who most of those of guys are?

as for the ex-Iowa players nope, the only 2 that you should know are Cook and Moss. the rest didn't do much even after they transferred, Wagner is playing TE for Kentucky now.

Any of you feens place a legal sports bet in Indiana yet?

Also curious on how Purdue fans liked the Reno area for the game? Any talk amongst the fans that went?

I’m waiting until they come out with an app most likely. Unless I’m in the area of a casino for whatever reason. Someone said they should be out with one by October so I’m looking forward to that.

Waiting for the new casino near New Albany to open. They originally were a “riverboat” casino but have since started building a land casino. Should be done towards the end of this year. Haven’t been in a while but hoping for big things.

Stopped at Indiana Grand on my way back to Cincy Sunday morning and they said their sportsbook wasn’t opening until after noon. I didn’t want to stick around amongst the octogenarians pumping their social security into slot machines.

Nope, but my wife is dreading the day it happens in CT because I am a degenerate gambler that thinks he is smarter than Vegas. In my defense, I swear that I am.

Edit: My daughter may have to go the Jucu route

Big Ten represented well

MSU - 3 (1, 30, 51)
Purdue - 3 (46, 62, 89)
Illinois - 2 (42, 61) + 1 HM
Maryland - 2 (18, 35)
Michigan - 2 (25, 34)
Wisconsin - 1 (94) + 1 HM
Penn st - 1 (22)
Ohio St - 1 (23)
Iowa - 1 HM but injured
what does 1 HM but injured [mean?]

Honorable mention.
ok it was the injured part that had me confused as I am planing on Jordan not playing, Wieskamp was the one I was thinking of for the HM. Jordan did make 3rd Team All BT so there was no reason for him not to start out on the All BT teams this fall.

Updated rivals ranking:
Morton at 72
Ivey at 77

I’m surprised Ivey didn’t leapfrog Morton. I’m also going to guess Purdue gets Kalkbrenner at 67.

Hearing that we are not pursuing 5-star Isaiah Jackson anymore. Not sure if true, but his dad basically made the comment that "everyone thinks he's an MSU lock, but he's not". He is visiting UK soon and Memphis as well, I believe.
