Really want Garcia or Love. I don't think we have a shot with RJ Davis. Hope what Snow/Rabjohns have been saying is correct in that we'll get a visit from Garcia. Hopefully we do well on the visit with Love, too.

Seems like we have the best chance with Garcia of the remaining targets.

look for Love to go to Kansas
Garcia 247 has him 50% ? and 50 to Marquette, Kansas is also in play.

not even going to say that Archie can't get 1 or both but he is up against it in who he is recruiting against.

Similar to their defense..Laughing
we shall see now won't we, upgrade in athleticism at the PG and other positions, they bought into playing defense and like I said hired a defensive coach as a assistant who was a former HC that won with defense,

oh by the by Iowa just made 4* WG/SF DJ Gordon top 6 and 4* PF Max Murrell out of Nebraska is visiting Sept 7th.

as for Jackson Iowa is still in the running as Bohiem is 75 so there is the question of how much longer he will be coaching,

hmmm a 20 class of these would be a very good class
4* C/F Foster
4* F Murrell
4* WG Jakson or 4* DJ Gordon
3* PG Ulis

looks good to me?
one note the Foster sweep stakes looks to be between Iowa and ISU
if Foster picks ISU I realy like F/C Martice Mitchell, looks like Olaseni 2.5 better offensive skills coming out of HS also looks to be ready to play as a FR vs Olaseni who really needed a RS.

on a side note went looking at Fran's staff and found that AC Speraw was a player on Lute Olson BT Championship team, then became a Grad Assistant under Lute the year Iowa went to the FF.

he was the HC of UCF for 17 years, he is the shooting coach for such Iowa players like
Jordan
Uthoff
Jok
Moss
Wieskamp
all of which shot over 40% from 3 during their career.
plus others.

Iowa was 111th defensively last year. In other words, "terrible". So congrats on your new defensive genius, asst. coach taking you from an awful defense, to a terrible one. I guess this year Iowa will upgrade to "bad"?

he was just hired in June, as for last season Fran brought in a defensive specialist for about 6 weeks and the defense improved from 242 to 111 for improvement of 131 spots for having that specialist to work with the team,

now we will see how much they improve with a full time coach that also can recruit and be on the bench during game time.

its funny how you ignore the improvement they made from year to year, Jordan played with a bad hip and this year Fran has brought in to very athletic guards in Evelyn and Toussaint both also are noted for their ability to play defense,

this is what Fran has been missing the last few years,

in the 12-13 season Fran had these in the
1 Gesell
2 Clemmons
3 Marble
that teams adj defense was #33 in fact they recorded 2 in the mid 40's then when MG and AC were SR's they recorded their worst of their 4 year career of #75.

this myth about Fran not coaching defense was just that a MYTH.

Evelyn was horrible on a bad Valpo team last year. Toussaint is a true freshmen ranked outside the top 250 by 247, and an unranked 3* by Rivals. Iowa was his only high major offer.

What makes you think either of those players are going to be even halfway decent in the B1G this year?

Evelyn was playing on a bad ankle. this limited his ability,
as a SO he was 2nd on the team is scoring with these for his stats
31.4 mpg
12.6 ppg
3.1 rpg
2.9 apg
1.4 spg
44.9% from the field
76.5% from the FTL
38.3% from 3

the question is will we see the healthy Evelyn or the injured Evelyn? also the talent around him is much better than his MVC team was

to another note I am getting te impression that certain poster are thinking that Evelyn and Toussaint will need to be the go to guy, they are from it, these will be the go to guys
Garza who was 2nd in scoring @ 13.1 ppg avg'ing 23.6 mpg vs Cook who led the team in scoring @14.5 ppg avg'ing 31 mpg. won't be that big a jump for Garza to lead the team in scoring
Wieskamp was 4th in scoring @ 11.1 ppg avg'ing 27.7 mpg while leading the team @ 42.4% from 3 and was 3rd on the team in steals with 31.

both will move up into the #1 and #2 spot. my prediction for 3-5 are these
Nunge 12 ppg
Connor 10-11 ppg
Fredrick 7-9 ppg 'for the teams top 5 scorers.
6-11 throw them in a hat and pick a number for scoring
Evelyn 5-6
Toussaint 5-6
Patrick 6-7
Kriener 6-7
Pemsl 6-7
Till 1-2

nobody will be a major scorer like Jok or Uthoff were. or needed to be.

He will be no where near those numbers in the B1G. Iowa has a decent 3-5, but your guards are awful.

Lindy’s predicts the order of finish in the Big Ten as
Michigan State, Maryland, Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, Indiana, Minnesota, Rutgers, Nebraska and Northwestern.

For reference Lindy's had IU finishing 4th last year.

So Michigan finishes ahead of Illinois and Wiscy, but get left out while the other two make it? It could happen, but these guys are getting overly specific with this sht. Also, I would bet a lot of money that Michigan makes it in.

KenPom 23 year ranking:

Iowa #42.

Not bad considering how Alford and Lickliter tried to kill our program.

8 Big 10 teams in the top 30

Hearing that we are not pursuing 5-star Isaiah Jackson anymore. Not sure if true, but his dad basically made the comment that "everyone thinks he's an MSU lock, but he's not". He is visiting UK soon and Memphis as well, I believe.

He has massive grade issues from what we’ve heard, um has barely ever recruited him for a reason.

Current non-con schedule with 1-2 games still possibly to be added. Not a bad schedule, with the only team that was complete ass last year was Cleveland State.

Sounds about right.
Iowa is among the 9th-12th group in the B1G, bad, but not Rutgers/PSU bad, and better than Nebraska/Northwestern bad. :D

He will be no where near those numbers in the B1G. Iowa has a decent 3-5, but your guards are awful.
we shall see. NYHoops rated Toussaint the #1 PG in NYC and the #2 player in the state of NY, people not associated with the Hawks says that they got the steal of the class, also he is a grade 80 4* by ESPN. the last 4* PG by ESPN was Jordan and he is pretty good,

also Uthoff was a 3* by Rival but a 4* by ESPN and he pretty damn good, looking at it Toussaint does as well as these 2 when they started, he will have gotten off to a very good start
Gessel 4* PG went 25-13 9-9 BT
25.1 mpg
8.7 ppg
2.6 rpg
2.6 ppg
1.2 spg
40.3% from the field
79.4% from the FTL
31.7% from 3

Jordan 4* PG 19-15 10-8 BT
29.6 mpg
10.9 ppg
2.2 rpg
5.1 apg
0.9 spg
38.8% from the field
85.5% from the FTL
41.6% from 3
only Jordan of those team had SR on their teams and that team started 4 FR. while Gessel's team started 3.
