Guys, I think we should all just relax and acknowledge that Illinois won a football game. You only see it so often.
What's the conference game only SOS? IU may play worse non conference teams than Purdue, but their conference schedule is significantly harder. It shows despite Purdue being in the weaker division, they still end up with a more challenging path to a bowl game. Which is what you were arguing.
In general, you guys suck in conference no matter which division the opposing team is in. As I said, worse record over the last several years against the West than the East. What's the conference game only SOS? Maybe but we’re talking about getting to bowl games. Overall sos is what matters. Here’s some projected sos I found. Saying Purdue has an easier road to a bowl game each year is factually incorrect. What's the conference game only SOS? Purdue plays a soft conference schedule. IU plays a soft non conference schedule. I'd gladly switch Purdue schedules.Maybe but we’re talking about getting to bowl games. Overall sos is what matters. That’s funny because I would gladly switch too. IU’s basically guaranteed going 3-0 in non con and then just has to go 3-6 in the big ten to reach a bowl game. Rutgers, MD, neb, NW, Purdue isnt exactly murderer’s row.Purdue plays a soft conference schedule. IU plays a soft non conference schedule. I'd gladly switch Purdue schedules.

Yeah I would have too.Speaking of guaranteed wins, you guys lost to Eastern Michigan at home last year. I would’ve considered that a guaranteed OOC win.
No one is saying the opponent was too hard. Purdue should have won, no excuse. I’m just responding to @B1G_Fan (Trojan) that Purdue made bowls the last 2 seasons & iu didn’t just because of their divisions. When you lose as double digit favorites I have a hard time buying the idea that the problem is the opponents are too hard.
Yeah I would have too.

Big difference. We weren’t out here pumping up our team. You were. Huge difference.This. No excuse for Purdue to lose against Nevada and EMU. But IU has struggled mightily against the West so switching divisions wouldn’t magically make things better.

You couldn't even beat a bad Nevada team. You think there are 6 teams on IU's schedule worse than Nevada? Nah, you wouldn't be bowling with IU's schedule, and you probably won't be bowling even with your soft conference schedule. Wouldn't that be hilarious...Lol what does that have to do with @B1G_Fan saying Purdue would have 0 chance to go bowling if they had IU’s schedule?
Has nothing to do with who was pumping up their team versus who wasn’t.
I (@B1G_Fan) was talking about Purdue's schedule this season. This season you avoid OSU, MSU, and Michigan.Yeah I would have too.

You couldn't win against Nevada, and you think you can win at Maryland, and against IU?I think Purdue would beat Ball State, UConn, and Eastern Illinois so there’s 3 wins.
Other likely wins would be Rutgers at home, at Maryland, and IU at home. There’s 6 wins lol.
Do you even know how sports work? You couldn't win against Nevada, and you think you can win at Maryland, and against IU?
I do. Sometimes BS happens and the worse team wins (like Purdue vs OSU last year). I dont think that was the case with Nevada though. They are just better than Purdue.Do you even know how sports work?

You didn’t watch the game then.I do. Sometimes BS happens and the worse team wins (like Purdue vs OSU last year). I dont think that was the case with Nevada though. They are just better than Purdue.
Dont forget the 41-10 beat down Minnesota gave Purdue...They lost at home to EMU last year but proceeded to win against OSU, Iowa, and at Nebraska. All tougher games than at Maryland and at IU.
As a Purdue football season ticket holder, I actually did watch the game. Purdue was the better team in the first half. The 2nd half was all Nevada. You didn’t watch the game then.

I chose poorly when it came to friends, and 4 of them are Purdue grads. They all got tickets, so I did as well. Tailgating and football are always fun no matter the team haha.I’d agree if you said the 4th quarter was all Nevada. 3rd quarter wasn’t at all.
Why are you a Purdue football season ticket holder?

Lol. Of course he does. But he also thought they would beat Eastern Michigan, too.You couldn't win against Nevada, and you think you can win at Maryland, and against IU?

So since they won last year at those places they should win at Maryland this year? Do you even know how sports work? They lost at home to EMU last year but proceeded to win against OSU, Iowa, and at Nebraska. All tougher games than at Maryland and at IU.
Same. We bought the cheapest tickets we could (around $120/season ticket), but we will be in the Beer Garden the whole time anyways.Fair haha. I’ll be there on Saturday haha.

I won’t be there this weekend but I’ll take you up on that for the TCU game.I'll buy you a beer in the Beer Garden on Saturday.
Purdue lost to EMU last year, which means they were incapable of beating any team better than EMU.You couldn't even beat a bad Nevada team. You think there are 6 teams on IU's schedule worse than Nevada? Nah, you wouldn't be bowling with IU's schedule, and you probably won't be bowling even with your soft conference schedule. I don't think it would make things better. Easier, though ? Sure. Playing OSU , PSU, Michigan and MSU every other year ain't an easy path to a bowl. This year we don't play PSU. So "only" UM. MSU and OSU. Not sold Purdue goes to those bowl games with having to play MSU, UM, OSU and or PSU. Maybe they do.This. No excuse for Purdue to lose against Nevada and EMU. But IU has struggled mightily against the West so switching divisions wouldn’t magically make things better.
