Rewatching Purdue Ohio State game. There guards are good, even in a down game. But oh my god, Isaac Haas fouls..... soooo much. Like literally shoved people out of the way for rebounds.
He's probably one of the most inconsistently officiated players I've ever seen - both for bad and good - he gets away with some things, but also takes quite a bit of abuse in the post that goes uncalled because he rarely gets dislodged from his position and is at such a physical advantage in almost every matchup.

I'm assuming you're talking about the Jae'Sean Tate collision toward the end of the game. I wouldn't have been upset if they called Haas for a foul there, because he clearly dump-trucked Tate. But I also think that's awfully tough for Haas to stop on a dime when Tate stepped in front of him to box out.

Hard to believe Haas only had 3 rebounds that whole game.

Not if you're a Purdue fan. Haha

Trifecta of shit tonight for officials. Both ways. Hate every single one of these idiots.

I see the Wisconsin and Illinois fans are out in full force tonight.

Happ was excellent again last night. A couple weeks ago, he looked like he was close to being cooked mentally. But he's bounced back and just made play after play yesterday, including a couple really nice hustle plays. Such a unique player.

Wisconsin posters. I'll be in your neck of the woods next Wednesday & Thursday. Coming up for the game on Thursday & skiing during the day beforehand. What bars should I check out in Madison? I'll hang up and listen. TIA.

What are you looking for? Get drunk w/ college kids? Good eats?

State Street Brats, KK, Wando's would be your college bars in state st/w johnson area.

Plenty of bars on Regent St as well. Sconnie bar, Lucky's 1313, Buckinghams, Jordans B1G Pub.

Also on Regent is the Greenbush Bar in the Italian Workmens Club building. I've never been there but heard its good eats.

For food and drink, Dotty Dumpling's Dowry, The Old-Fashioned, The tipsy cow, The Great Dane Pub & Brewing.

Hoosiers -6.5 doesn’t sound like Coffey will play. Hoosiers should win. Hopefully a corner has been turned and the effort will continue to be solid

Probably just casual drinks on Wednesday but will probably get hammered Thursday if the Boilers win or lose. Hoping for "back on track, FF here we come drunk" rather than the "fu*ck we just lost three in a row, I'm going to go jump in Monona Bay and drown myself" drunk.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Jumping into the bay might prove difficult being ice covered. Unless the discharge area is open. But good luck with that!

Having nightmares thinking about Langford on Carsen Edwards. Please, dear god Izzo start McQuaid. He is a good wing defender. Langford will get blown back. And McQuaid won’t jack up 14 shots and make 4

Worried Jackson will shut down V Edwards. My only solace is that he might get into foul trouble but we'll see.

I liked the way Dakota defended Bates-Diop on Wednesday so that makes me feel a bit better about the matchup with Bridges.

wait is Langford really a worse defender than McQuaid?

By far. McQuaid is a solid wing defender. He closes out well, doesn’t get loss. He won’t shut anyone down but is solid.

Langford just gets lost. Can’t do that against Carsen.

Jackson gets a ton of BS calls for being large, so we will see how this game is officiated. Dakota is played defense well of KBD, so it will be interesting to see how well he does against the best athlete in the Big Ten (basketball).

McQuaid hasn't seemed really bad when I've watched, but him on Carsen has me salivating. Teams have generally been hiding their worst defender on PJ since he's not a scorer -- just a guy that takes rhythm 3s and initiates the offense.

Agree w/ B-Westy that JJJ should be able to neutralize Vince to an extent. While JJJ is a really good defender obviously, I do wonder if Vince's ability to be run off screens as a shooter will present JJJ with something he hasn't seen much of.

Biggest thing that worries me is keeping MSU off the glass and keeping them out of transition. Just can't give up a bunch of easy buckets there and I think we'll have a good shot.

I think you are underestimating McQuaid as a defender. He is solid. He is above average on defense. JJJ is MSU’s best player and prospect. I’d really like to see him work it in the post, because when he dies he is a monster plus height advantage. I think 3 keys to MSU winning are Running the floor a lot, as Haas is slow and Purdue is not deep, Rebonding, Purdue’s 1 Kenpom weakness, and guard defense, not letting open three’s. I think Purdue will be fired up and will probably win, but it’s like 45/55 for me. Gonna be a great game.

Maybe on McQuaid. Still like that match up a lot of Carsen. Agree on JJJ going down low.

I'd bet on MSU to win, personally.

I mean, Carsen Edwards is the best SG in the Big Ten. He will get a lot done period.

Looked at a couple Bracketology brackets from diff sites

One(NBCs I think) had the following 8/9 seeds

Texas vs Missouri
Arizona State vs Providence
Alabama vs Butler
Michigan vs Nevada

Arizona State has won at Kansas and vs Xavier
Michigan has won at Michigan State
Butler beat Villanova
Texas beat Oklahoma

I dont think 1 seeds will even have it easy this season if those are the 8/9 seeds.

We took down Nova last year. Seems like just as much parity this year. I don't expect all 1's to make Sweet 16 again.

This has been happening for 15 years. Nothing new.

They didnt do a good job of seeding teams last season. Wisconsin wasnt an 8 seed but thats where they put them.

Something's happening/ed at ASU.. they aren't anywhere near where they were early season.
I don't know if someone's missing or if someone dl figured out a cheat code..
Not a believer in Texas, either..

I am a believer in Butler, Nevada, Michigan and Alabama.
When On, those could wreck an entire region.
