Not wanting to sound like Gil but 2 fouls on iu. Really?!?
Not even close to Gil.

BTW, Purdue only has 5.

Game has been officiated pretty good, really. Nice flow. Been a few calls that could've been called. But IMO both teams have played really good defensively.

Pretty even game by the stats. IU shooting well thanks to layups.

Pick and roll is killing Purdue. Ball man is keeping it and working to the basket to shoot or pass. Stay in front, stop the penetration.

Couple of things stand out to me
- Talent is definitely down this year in the Big 10 overall. With one exception.
- Tom Izzo should be nowhere near the end of year coach awards with the talent/record disparity of his team. That team should have had zero trouble going undefeated this year in conference play.
- Matt Painter should be coach of the year. He's done an excellent job this season.
- Dear god what the hell is Underwood doing at Illinois? It takes serious effort to underperform as bad as that team is doing.
- Tim Miles has done an excellent job putting his roster together at Nebraska.
- Injuries really destroyed what could have been a really good year for Maryland.
- Iowa is REALLY bad. They should thank Brad Underwood for saving Fran from having both the least talented team in the conference AND the worst record.

*I got the research from this from fellow poster big red22 on another board so thank him for that. I simply refined and organized it and then made some observations to share it here for you guys to peruse.

One thing I enjoy about this Purdue team is that theyre so incredibly talented on the offensive end that opposing coaches just concede that Purdue is going to score and just picks either doubling Haas or trying to take away the shooters.

So it basically becomes can we outscore Purdue? So long as Purdue gets its defense figured out and quits giving up these layups on PnR coverage, they are extremely hard to best over 40 mins.
Meh, not really. I think you do have to pick your poison with Purdue. But I don't think anyone is conceding a score. IU I thought should've stayed with playing Haas straight up. When we began to double is when Purdue really started to score. I hope we go back to doubling him here and there, but primarily play him straight up. Mix it up.

Is Juwan Morgan first team BIG?

Absolutely. There are like 8 players that would normally be locks for first team all B1G this season but a couple will end up getting screwed and get relegated to 2nd team

Keita Bates Diop
Vince Edwards
Juwan Morgan
Ethan Happ
Jaren Jackson JR

Theres only so many spots for all those forwards

What a ridiculous thing to say. Going undefeated in conference is extremely difficult for even the most elite teams. No one is going to deny we have underachieved to this point, but all that matters is March. To consider anything less than undefeated as a failure seems crazy.

So they take a made 3 off of our score and give them 2 on a mystery goaltend???? Am I seeing that right or is score wrong?

Difference is simple: Purdue's guards are just a ton better than ours. Don't turn it over in crunch time. Very disappointing.

Good game Hoosiers. I honestly thought that Mgk would be putting up the dumptruck early, but I was obviously very wrong. The D is night and day better from the beginning of the year.

Other than the last couple minutes when their ball handling was extremely sloppy, I was really impressed with Indiana today and how much they have improved. The game Tuesday night against OSU should be a dandy. I’ll be there and can’t wait.

I thought that was an extremely entertaining game just as the announcer noted.

If these are the types of IU-Purdue games we can expect going forward, this rivalry as a sleeping giant is about to be awoken and its going to be phenomenal in the years to come.

Archie essentially copied what Belein did bith offensively and defensively vs Purdue. (Thats one of the great things about playibg Belein. Purdue had an amazing defense nobody could crack and Beleins offensive genius figure out ways to attack Purdue and now Purdue can watch the film and work on it before March.) Purdue ran really bad from 3 today (5/18) and still found a way to win on the road.

Great game. Purdue is awesome this year. Juwan Morgan is also awesome.

Great game! Both teams fought like hell. Best team won today. IU needs this intensity every game. IU needs Phinisee and Romeo to take over next year, as Durham and Green are not the answer. Archie has IU in the right direction.

RoJo made a lot of tough ones at the end of the shot clock. With that being said, his finger roll type thing at the end there was just really weird.
He did. But that is irrelvant when you take a shot like he did, late. Then turn it over again, late. Difference at the end was your guards handles the moment. Ours did not.

I hate our whole team basically except for Bohannon, Cook and Garza. Not to mention Bohannon is playing the wrong position, as he should be playing the 2, not the 1. But we have all those 4* players coming in that will fix everything, so I have nothing to worry about, right?

I wish Phinisee were here now. He's a better PG than what we have. In other words---He would start this year, at IU.

I was at the NA-Jasper game last night. Romeo is absolutely stunning in person. RL hit 8 3s, and 4 were beyond NBA range. Romeo had a dunk that had the crowd crazed, but he had a better one the night before. .. too bad RL does not get a part of the gate receipts, as it was a sellout.

I had a game, plus UK was playing or we probably would have went. All their games are sell-outs. Kid is an amazing talent. He would do wonders for Indiana.

Edit: I saw his dunk vs Evansville North, off the alley-oop. Amazing, really. Pass was behind him.

Glad that one is behind Purdue. Winning that game at IU was big! Kudos to IU for bringing it today.
Great game. You guys just have so many options(to score). Tough to guard. But I thought we made you guys really work on offense. Great effort. Unfortunately, we didn't make the plays at the end. You guys did.

Congrats on the win. Very good team, and a lot to be excited about. Best of the luck.

My takeaway from this Purdue team is they are very tough mentally. When teams get physical with them (Michigan, IU), they adjust instead of the last few seasons where decision making would become sloppy due to lack of focus. Very smart team with just enough skill at each position, making it very difficult to game plan against.

PJ, Cline, CE, all had tough offensive games today and Mathias as well to an extent. Yet, they had just enough weapons left to pull the W.

Good game Hoosiers.

Purdue is the best team in the country right now. Balanced. Disciplined. Able to score in multiple ways. Defensively sound at all positions. They are going to go far in the tournament, barring injury or a fluke game.

I was pretty pleased with how this undermanned Hoosier squad played them.

Got to tip my hat to a bunch of classy Purdue fans on this board, also. Great game, and good luck to Purdue from here out.

I agree. Purdue showed a ton of poise today. Great example was late in the game, and Purdue up 65-64. Haas was immediately doubled, and in a bad spot. Initially missed Edwards on a cut. But he didn't panic. Didn't rush. Just dribbled out, made a great pass, and you guys got a lay-up. Huge play.

We had our opportunities. But man we just cannot shoot. Honestly feel if we had anyone capable of being a consistent shooter, we would be a much, much different team. I mean we missed a ton of open looks.
Once again, latge game execution, or lack there of, was our demise. Final three minutes we had two tunovers and took two terrible shots. All by our senior guards. Just frustrating.

ANyways....Good game. Very good team.

Thought our defense was actually a strength heading into end of season before Michigan game and this one. You guys scored way too easily in that first half. Same problem as last year when teams got our bigs out in space. Good game.

Archie had a really good game plan. Purdue just finished better.

I think that this was the kind of week that Purdue needed. Blowout victories are great, but hard fought victories are important because Purdue will most likely be in this kind of game in the NCAA Tournament and execution under pressure will be crucial.

.
Exactly, 100% this. Your guards handled the late game pressure. Ours did not. Actually, Haas as well. Made very good decisions with the basketball. Miller just doesn't have the personnel that fits his system. I do believe when he does, IU is going to be really good.

I saw the dunk on youtube. That was the most incredible high school guard dunk I have ever seen. I am a huge Damon fan in high school. Romeo is better, hands down.
