If anything, I figured Maryland would hate MSU because of Korie Lucious 3 in the NCAAT
Only a little. I expected the L, I didn’t expect to look like Iowa.
Year when we were both good. Costello went nuts and closed out the game for us that year.
Remember that game clearly because of our horrid bright green jerseys.

Your question was dumb. Basing a teams ranking on one game, a road game against a top 10 team at that, doesn’t make sense. Saying that either Maryland must be overrated or MSU must be underrated because of this game is something a casual fan would do..... not someone who is familiar with how fickle college basketball can be.
I understand how college basketball works. UM lost by 10 to a team they are better then. Shit happens.
MSU was up 22 at that point. Just poking fun that the 13th ranked team was getting wrecked.
To be clear, I also don’t think Maryland is overrated. I do think MSU is underrated but I’m a homer (and also how we have played lately).
There is definite separation.
I think the champion will be 1-6 in the AP Poll (hot take, I know right). Those top 6 are really good. There is a drop off after that.
#11 North Carolina is another team you would probably call overrated based on them getting boat raced at Michigan..... well they are boat racing #10 Virginia Tech.
College basketball, man.
I think Md is a little over rated at 13.
But they played on the road Fri night then again tonight in a tough venue against a very good team.
Tall order for a young team.
They will throw up some more clunkers.

Can MD fans answer why Turgeon is not fired yet?
I do think of MD bball is probably the best JOB right behind the elites. Even Bilas said so once IIRC. If a lower school like UVA can find a solid coach then so can you.

not a MD fan but it makes no sense to fire a coach that is 3rd in the BT @7-2 and is 16-4 overall.
if coaches get fired because of that pretty soon NO Coach is going to even touch that job. not to mention players won't even give them a 2nd look let alone a 1st look.
you want to kill a program that is about the best way to do it.
Outside of this year, he has been mediocre-- especially in the NCAAs.
I know some MD fans and Turgeon has been TERRIBLE In the NCAAs.
MD has 2 HOF coaches and a NC not too long ago. It should be competing for FFs. It can and should do better. I do think they will phase him out in a two years after he flames out in the NCAAs.
