And Kansas fans wonder why they dominate he Big12 yet can’t do shit in the NCAA tourney? If only they could play the Final 4 in Allen Fieldhouse with Big12 refs. They’d probably have a dozen National Championships by now. As it is they can only cling to conference titles while all of their peers enjoy lapping them in national championships.

This is the way every WVU game should be officiated.
I'm feeling for the kid myself. The shots he turned down in order force a pass to a play that just wasn't there and it happened on multiple possessions late in the game.
WVU settled for jumpers all game. They didn't attack inside. Hell Konate took more jumpers than shots in the paint in this game. The lopsided FTA attempt had a lot to do with how each played the game. KU attacked with the dribble and threw it inside to Doke. WVU settled for jumpers. If they called every played correctly with how much WVU was fouling it would have been more like 50-10 FT difference.
No they didn’t. You don’t get to the line often when all you do is shoot jump shots. KU was either driving or getting it to Doke all night, and your guys were fouling them. You guys on the other hand even when you got the ball low, you favored a fadeaway jumper over taking it to the rim. That is going to result in a huge FT disparity every time. And truthfully it worked, because your guy were hot. Probably you took so many jumpers cause you were hitting them. If you’d been hitting at a normal to below normal rate, you might have drove to the basket more. The only bad no-call that KU got away with was the last Doke block and the game was basically over at that point anyway.
Anyway, the difference in the game was poise. WVU missed shots down the stretch that they’d been hitting the entire time, and KU started hitting the shots they had been missing. WTF was Miles thinking turning down that shot? Like he was already defeated in his mind. It was the best look he had all night.
I'm not one of those refs did us wrong guy but this one was pretty bad. We still deserved to lose either way because of bad coaching by Huggins when it mattered.
Of WVU's 61 shot attempts 12 of them came in the paint. They took a lot of 3s and long 2s.
This is not all true..there were a lot of fouls that gave KU free throws in the bonus when we didn't actually foul. I usually don't let it bother me because I know the home team gets the advantage but this one was bad.
Feel free to highlight any calls that were incorrect that resulted in KU FTs. Betcha you won't...

I went back and replayed several during the game that didn't go our way but not going to get into it now because it doesn't matter that much to me at this point. You guys beat us and I'm going to bed, depressed.
It didn't matter during the game because they were likely good calls. WVU fouls at least once every possession. I'd say you got off light.

Kansas fans will defend this ridiculous free throw discrepancy. When in reality they should be pissed that their team is coddled so much in conference play that they can’t handle the rigors of NCAA play. Which is why they are pitiful when it comes to the tournament and when it really matters. But Kansas fans can enjoy their Big12 conference champ streaks until the end of time while everybody else laughs at them and enjoys National Championship that truly matter.
Sad thing is, if you guys don’t hit a bunch of tough threes that you’d normally miss, KU would have won easily.
Regarding the FTs, when you don’t drive to the bucket, you don’t get to the FT line. It’s pretty simple. Not being a homer here. I’ve seen my team get handled the same way when we’ve fell in love with the jumper. It’s easy to get emotional about it and claim a reffing conspiracy, but at the end of the day, it depends on what kind of shots you’re taking.
When you take 61 shots and 49 of them are jumpers from 15 ft. and out, expecting to get to the FT line over and over is going to be awfully difficult.

We should get more than 2 FT's just on blown calls alone. Still not the reason we lost the game. We just quit playing.
I dont think we got off light but you guys are the better team no doubt, like I said earlier KU will end up going to the final 4. I usually don't think we are screwed but this game I did. We are lucky to be in the top 20 or so.
I don't have the same optimism on FF as you, but I'll hope you're right.

Quit shooting contested jump shots over and over again, put the goddamn ball on the the f'ing floor and drive the to bucket and create something. Stop passing up wide open jump shots when you genuinely need them late in the game and quit throwing the f**king basketball right to KU when you change your mind in mid-shot.
