DJ Jeffries Decommits from UK

I haven't seen anything on that board for over 10 years. This is public knowledge. You think the accreditation organization just put the school on probation for the hell of it? Laughing
Sounds like you’re still bothered that UNC was found innocent. It’s ok man, you’ve still got UL to pick on.

If you want more info, I hear this is a good source. ;)

Honestly forgot this kid even committed. I assume he looked at Stacy Poole and Charles Mathews and did the math.

Yeah Im sure a top 30-40 recruit did that considering Alexander was right there in that area about a year ago.

Wonder who started the thread? Seems like you guys crave the attention but try and call out others when they respond

I'll give you the fact that this thread is a rarity
normally the jealous haters start them and then cry when they get called out

If we get Khalil Whitney and Dontaie Allen, Jeffries can go kick rocks.

Whitney is infinitely better and Allen is a local kid that’s at least on par and much more likely to stick around a few years AND fits a position better. Jeffries thinks he’s one and done.

Do you realize that us “jealous” fans could be Kentucky fans if we wanted? There’s a reason why we choose not to, it has more to do with the fan base than the actual school/team.

You do realize they didn't find UNC innocent, they concluded that it was an institution issue and not an athletic one because a couple regular students took the course.(The course was made up of like 12% regular students compared to all other courses having like 92% to 96% regular students) Yeah that seems "innocent"Eyeroll

Basically, then under the same premise, any school could give every basketball recruit 10 Million dollars each year for the next 20 years but as long as they select one random student to give 10 million dollars then they weren't cheating. Im sure if that happened you would say they were as "innocent" as UNC was. That's the Carolina way and what Dean Smith will be remembered the most for. Cheating.

Kentucky Basketball: It was Tony Barbee who allegedly didn’t handle DJ Jeffries’ decommitment well

Jeffries’ father also gave a big reason why his son decommitted.

DJ Jeffries’ father, Corey Jeffries, has been dishing dirt left and right this week, making more headlines than his son. On Tuesday, he revealed who the Kentucky coach was that didn’t act “professional” when his son decommitted from Kentucky.

“it wasn’t Cal that took it so bad,” Corey Jeffries said, according to Mark Giannotto of the Commercial Appeal. “It was the main recruiter (assistant coach Tony Barbee).”

Barbee was the lead recruiter on Jeffries. The four-star recruit’s father also talked about why his son decommitted from the Kentucky Wildcats: There were no coaches watching him at the end of the July live period in Las Vegas.

“It was the last game of his summer career, so he was expecting somebody to be there,” Corey Jeffries said, according to Giannotto. “I think it kind of bothered him. That kind of shook him up a little bit.”

Kentucky wasn’t watching Jeffries this past weekend, but Kentucky was watching four-star wing Dontaie Allen, an in-state star who could end up taking Jeffries’ place in the 2019 class.

Giannotto also said that Jeffries has talked to Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway since his decommitment, and he’ll visit Memphis and Mississippi State.

Jeffries is still a four-star recruit who’s ranked the No. 37 player in the class by the 247 Sports Composite.

As for Barbee, if this is true and he didn’t handle the decommitment well, it’s just the latest story in what’s been a not-so-great year for him on the recruiting trail. He was under fire last year for not doing more on the trail as Kentucky missed on many of its biggest targets over the last two classes, including Mo Bamba, Marvin Bagley, RJ Barrett, Bol Bol, Cam Reddish and Zion Williamson.

Barbee also had an incident this past March where he appeared to be trolling Auburn while they were getting demolished by Clemson in the NCAA Tournament. Auburn is where he was a head coach before being fired in 2014.

To his credit, he is listed as the lead recruiter for Tyrese Maxey, Kentucky’s lone commit in 2019.

And really, we may never know if he really did act unprofessionally to Jeffries and his family, or if this is an exaggeration of the truth.

So “a sea of blue” blogger is telling this?

You're never found innocent, only not guilty. NCAA said it was out of their jurisdiction. They didn't say UNC was innocent. It was implied, we can't do anything about UNC's cheating in this nature, due to it being out of our jurisdiction. They simply washed their hands...

If you or anyone else state's they're innocent, you're lying....

Kentucky fans are the first to call out anther fan base more than any other fan base.

simply because UK lives RENT FREE in so many of our rivals heads and because of it the rival fans can't help themselves from taking shots at UK

You've just described Kentucky fans

you know that is not the truth
look at the threads on this board that have rival fans taking shots at UK when the thread has nothing to do with UK and in some cases sports
you are also guilty of it

RENT FREE

Still describing your own fanbase

you know you have already lost when that is the best you can come up with

if the shoe was on the other foot and you had some jealous haters always turning threads into a Duke bash then you would be calling them out

UK fans, how will Cal manage minutes between Hagans, Green and Quickley? They were all recruited to run the show at UK but there's only 1 ball and none of them are prolific spot up shooters (maybe Quade this year?).

The fact that you even asked that question says it all...RollLaugh

the fact that you were not being truthful says a lot more
go to RR and list the threads that are actually about another team or it's players
show the rest of the board how untruthful you are

we know you wont because it will expose you

by the end of the year i think Hagans and Quickley will start
Cal will start two of the three all year
all three will get good minutes
Quickley and Hagans are both good shooters, maybe not great but good

At a glance, I counted 5 first-page threads created solely to bash other teams. Plus lots of Penny/Memphis bashing throughout the other threads.

With the decommit news, they're actually spending a decent amount of their energy talking about their own team.

Starting to sound a lot like the kid thought he was gonna be the only player of his skill set to be recruited. Rarely the case at Kentucky especially if you’re in the four star range

Judging by Calipari's comments today, it sounded like someone was wanting to be promised minutes and a starting spot.

i am not sure if you have very bad eyesight or just can't count

You sure he didn’t commit thinking Penny was joining the UK staff, then when Penny took the Memphis job & it was looking like his friend, Wiseman was joining Penny, that he didn’t have a change of heart & wanted to join them?

How can anyone be sure of anything when it comes to recruiting? Also, the Jefferies own words, from when Penny was hired @Memphis, disproves your far reaching theory. Being I'm in Memphis, read the local news sites, and Jefferies being from here, this is nothing more than a dad wanting guaranteed playing time promised. And who can blame the dad?
