I see two really good picks imo.

Miami +7 vs UNC...Miami
Indiana +7 at Purdue...Indiana
I think both cover and possibly win outright.

I placed single bets on:
MSU -3 @ Vandy
Furman +7.5 @ Wofford
UVA +2.5 @ Duke
NC St -2 @ ND
KU -5.5 @ WVU
IU +7 @ Purdue
Michigan -4 @ Wisconsin
Florida -4.5 @ UGA

Parlayed:
Michigan -2.5
Kansas -4
UVA +4
Furman +9
UK +5.5

I stayed away from UNC @ Miami. Could see UNC covering because Miami is really, really bad.

Decided to bet some singles this week because I am sick of losing 5 or 6 team parlays when winning all but 1 of the games.

If that's really happening, you need to round robin them. Your earnings will increase immediately.

Meh, that just means a bunch more bets and a lot more money to split my parlays. I never bet round robins because you're betting on every possible combination of outcomes. I'm looking to minimize what I bet and maximize what I make.

Miami has zero depth, but they have a couple of really good starters that can make a game interesting.

You can bet the same amount. And no need to bet every possible combination of outcomes. If before you had a 6 team parlay, now you'll have 6 five team parlays, bet with 1/6 of your original bet on each of the parlays. If you are really losing parlays by only 1 game, I don't understand why you wouldn't go this route. It's the perfect hedge for your bet. Sure, you won't win as much, but it sounds like you weren't winning before. This will at least make you a consistent winner.

Some background. I go to Vegas every year for the first weekend of the tournament. Been doing it for a decade. Someone introduced me to round robins after I told them a scenario just like your's, and I went from winning maybe 10% of my parlays, to winning a majority of my round robin parlays. I've left Vegas up for the last 4 years now. It covers my entire trip and more.

Like all the home teams today. Vandy is just a wreck and Miss St. is pretty good . If Vandy doesn't win today they are gonna lose all confidence if they already haven't but I'd stay away.

Like Duke,Purdue and N.D and would stay away from KU they don't play well on the road. Could see some upsets today and of course I like LSU at home.

I don't like to have a bunch of different bets on the same teams though. I could see doing it on 3 or 4 team parlays, that makes more sense. I am typically doing minimum 5-team parlays but usually 6, 7, or more. 1 minimal wager to potentially win a shitload of money. Not 4 or 5 lesser bets to win less money by cutting my parlays in half. If I bet the same amount on all the games individually and as a parlay and win 4/5 or 5/6 of those but lose the parlay, I am still getting a good return. I've won plenty of the larger parlays, just got bit in the ass the past few weeks (thanks to UK and Louisville, in fact). I have had plenty of opportunities to hedge on bigger parlays too. Say it's a 6-team parlay and I won the first 5. I can put a large sum against my bet for the 6th pick and hedge it that way or let it ride if I want. I usually let it ride. Laughing

BTW, which book(s) do you frequent when you're out here for Madness? Moneyline at Park MGM and the one at Linq are both new and different, not your typical book, which is cool. Wynn, Mirage, and Westgate are probably my favorite traditional books though.

Auburn -5 is a good bet imo. Bad matchup for UK. Home game. Shoot a ton of threes efficiently against a team that doesn't.

Yep, I think Auburn will probably cover but I went with heart over brain there. Laughing
Ive found its just common sense to bet on the Cats on the moneyline most games. Overthe long haul we obviously win a hell of a lot more than we lose. Spread bets, I usually include us in a teaser. Not sure what we are ATS this season but my guess is not good.

I like Cincinnati on the road at WSU. UC -5 theyre fairly solid this year....beat Ole Miss and hung with Ohio State. WSU is just not very good this year, rebuild season.

I don't think they are very good ATS this year but I don't buy into that shit. Today has nothing to do with the past. That is all coincidental crap they use to suck people in. I don't typically bet the ML unless it's a fairly heavy underdog that I think has a good chance to win and the payout would be huge.

I really like Wynn in general, but its completely different that first weekend of the tournament. Planet Hollywood used to be my favorite for this week. The last 4-5 years every casino has caught on, and its insanely crowded now. Every hotel now turns a few conference rooms into remote sportsbooks. Some even turn their theaters into sportsbooks and viewing rooms. We usually find "private" sports books/parties now to avoid the crazy lines.

That's the best way to do it. Most people don't like the constant cloud of cigarette smoke in the sports books either, especially when they are that crowded. Even though I live in Vegas, I still bet online. Just so much easier.

I don't bet, but bama should lose by less than 14. Those evil filthy bammers have a way of getting up for UT. But, I'm doing what I can to mess them up.

Yeah, I almost took them too, but they are very unpredictable. They can look like a top 25 team at times, and then they'll turn around and get throttled by Northeastern.

That is why I mentioned the UT factor. They have beaten us the last 4/5. For what it is worth, I hate them much more than UK.

You guys have the home court advantage. Petty can't make a 3 on the road. You guys should roll (tide) today by 15 or more....

As children of the Light, we should not fear bama, but never underestimate them.

Their coach without makeup.

They are pretty good considering the record. They can play great for about 5 minutes then complete sh!t the bed and look like a lost team. Very streaky but very capable.

I like to do 2 and 3 team parlays on the moneyline eith 1 or 2 of the teams as clear favorites that should win, then find that sleeper underdog aa the kicker so suddenly you have a good payout. As far as doing singles, generally no though sometimes its just free money, no sense in not taking it.
