He was openly recruiting for Calipari up until at least 2012. He had to back off of it because he became an agent, which made the situation murkier, and due to his agencies request.

Why did we stop getting top 5 recruits after 2015?
From 2010-2015 we had three #1 picks and 13 lottery picks and every player that stayed more than 1 year played in a final four. There is literally ZERO reason we stopped getting the elite of the elite except that other schools started payimg and we didn't.
Since 2015, duke has had ZERO #1 picks, 7 lottery picks (almost half what we had in the previous 5 years) and has only been to one final four.
So what has made them the "hot" school? Money. That's what.
Again....Skal. Remember him? #1. Just because he sucked as a freshman doesn’t take away that he was ranked #1.
And I’m not going to look up everybody else’s rankings, but Fox, Bam, and many others have been very highly rated. This arbitrary top 5 range is absurd. We all know that there are often elite players outside of the top 5 and sometimes highly overrated players IN the top 5 (ahem...Skal). Not to mention that some classes are much deeper or more talented than others.
Almost as bad as expecting the Adidas guy to know what the Nike guy is offering. If it's a competition, then why would he know?

Even if 6-10 get paid, it's bullshit that Nike would funnel 3 of the top 5 to one school.

It may be hard for you to accept that Calipari, who was killing it with the NBA platform when he was the only one selling it at the time, could possibly be out recruited by Krzyzewski. But since Krzyzewski has adopted the same methods, that is exactly what happened. Fact is, Krzyzewski has been doing this for over 30 years at Duke and is one of the most respected people in his field. Is it so hard for you to believe that players might want to play for a coach that many consider the GOAT since he has gone all in with the OADs?
247 composite had him as the #2 player. I believe he was #1 from a few services but definitely at or near the top from all of them. I don’t recall him being out of the top 5 by anyone.

Really. You may be correct. When Cal started the One and Done he was criticized for it. It was going to ruin college basketball. Then coach K goes all in on the One and Done and now all the critics say it is the best thing since sliced bread.

How many sports writers and ESPN idiots have criticized coach K for the one and done. I can cite many that criticized Cal for it and how it was ruining college basketball. Coach K is the media darling of college basketball while coach Cal is the Donald Trump.

So where we were getting 2-3 top 5 players Cal's first 5 years we are now getting 1-2 top 10 players (other than the anomaly in 2016). Two of those players have been barely on the edge in knox and Montgomery. There is literally no explanation for this. Cal is getting all of his top 15 recruits into the literary and even fringe 4 stars (like WCS, SGA and Herro into the first round.

Actually, he was pulling in 1-2 top 5 guys per year, aside from the huge 2011 class that had three.
But yes...it was very alarming when suddenly the best he could get were #6 and #7 Bam and Fox. Stop the presses!!! Foul play abound!
