ACC Tournament thread

We fouled the crap out of Newton on the possession before this. These refs are letting the teams just kill each other. Probably trying to let them injure each other for the Dukies.

For the most part, they let Duke an ND kill each other too. Guess they were trying to let them injure each other for the winner of this game.

Plus, y'all have been getting the calls they are making minus the obvious flagrant on Berry.

I'll take up for tw3301 all day in that respect. He gives us enough hell to keep his Duke card. He just isn't a jackass about it, or he is but in the way you need to be on that board.

Im pretty sure Matt knows the deal on OOTB

Refs have been letting them play all tournament. This game has been ridiculous

They need to grab control soon. Teams are pounding each other harder than prison shower sex with no rape whistle. Only a dukie like @LetsGoDuke301 could enjoy it

I assumed everyone would understand the Duke comment was just a joke.

Bad OTB call but he also pushed off before the first one and it is no different form what they called on Theo that just gave Miami two points. Why not point them both out?

No shit. But, nice to see the Heels beat a 5(?) seed whilst playing like a bag of turds.

No doubt. Honestly, if Berry and Cam are sore tomorrow I would have zero issues with resting them. I enjoy the ACCT but don't care enough about it to risk any sort of hangover for the dance and think the Heels have done exactly what they needed to do. It would suck to lose to Duke but that probably happens anyway. May not matter as both may be perfectly fine though.

On a side note, I think the TNT halftime reports with Ernie, Shaq, Chuck, and Kenny may be one of my favorite things to watch.

You'll probably be happy with that one. You guys are playing fantastic and we are not. Plus, this tournament is kind of Duke's thing. K almost always plays well in this
History doesn't mean anything this year. Duke is playing well, but it's a weird matchup between them this year. It's like K has to beat Roy at his game and Roy has to beat K at his game. Both games this year were completely different except the fact that whoever looked like the winner in the first half came out the loser.

Haha, no doubt. I didn't see the last game and can't watch recordings we lose. We just have nothing for Bagley though. Dude is so legit.

I've got baseball practice so will miss it. Hopefully they play better. Berry and Luke have to show up.

Wait wait wait... you are missing a second Duke/Carolina game?

Is it true that Carter might be out for this game? That would suck.

He didn't play much last night thanks to floppy McTitsweat.

The only issue I have with this is that the Carrier Dome is a shithole

That's not what I was referencing when I mentioned facilities but, sure, the highly recognizable stadium, scheduled for a large renovation project, that allows for 30k fans to root for you is probably not a good selling point for recruits.

It's crazy Syracuse doesn't lead the nation in attendance every year.

For the third straight year and 20th time in the last 23 seasons UK has lead average home attendance despite having a smaller capacity. Many of those years UT had a larger capacity as well and Rupp was 3rd.

It wasn't until UT renovated their arena to include box seats which put them below Rupp, but the Carrier Dome still rules in capacity by a wide margin.

Weather could be a factor. I'd be interested in seeing the attendance numbers for conference games. It's easier to justify going to an ACC game in subfreezing temperatures or a storm than it is to justify making the long walk to the Dome in near freezing temperatures to watch Colgate.

Attendance seems to do well when Duke comes to town, I'm sure UNC and others as well.

They will be much more interested in the renovations once completed.

To which facilities were you referring?

You have baseball practice 9:30 at night? The hell?
Not really all that uncommon. My 13 year old works out with some minor league MLB players twice a week from 8-9:30 in the winter. Most baseball work is done indoors in cages & indoor facilities now days.

The Melo Center, primarily, where the basketball players spend most of their time. It's the school's state-of-the-art practice facility, among other things. As you could guess by the name, Carmelo Anthony donated a few mil to the school to build it.

I may get to see it now. It is the 50/70 league and my boy is only playing for a short period of time because he will be playing juniors soon when middle school ball is over. So he is going to stay the night with my wife's parents so he can hunt in the morning since this is the second practice and he really doesn't need to work on the stuff some of these other kids do. So hopefully I'll see this one.
