5th Annual College Basketball Draft

So if a guy loses a guy to injury or whatever, does that player just draft a replacement?
Halfway through the season we drop our worst 2 performing players. If they have major injury, said player would be one of the drops.

If they get a season ending injury before the year starts though, you can drop them and draft a replacement player. I did one year, and the replacement guy I got was actually First Team ACC and one of my better players (Elijah Hughes)

Who was the odd one out?

Antoine Davis. But, to be fair, he actually has really good value. I mean, he was HM All-American last year. Just know it can be risky sometimes taking a mid-major player that early. I've seen multiple reigning CPOY from small conferences that don't repeat.

If it's a season-ending injury that occurs before the start of the season, I might allow a supplemental pick. I think we did that with one poster a year or two ago.

This is a 10 player draft. But for scoring purposes, we only count 8 players. So, there is a little cushion for injuries. I think Jimbo and JWill had two players with season-ending injuries last season.

I'll ask the participants to lock in on an 8-man rotation around late December/early January. Once those rosters have been set, you just gotta hope your guys don't get the injury bug. If you have a season-ending injury in January or February, you're just SOL at that point.

I was hoping Wong would get to me but knew the odds were slim.

I’ll be in my hotel in 2 hrs. Nothing going to happen before that.

I’m down for extending it 12 rounds and still pick top 8 if everyone else is!

I'd be okay with that. Already debating among 7-8 sleepers I could snag in the last two rounds.

In years past, however, it does seem like some get a little bit of draft fatigue around this time.

If we can get a majority vote on this, then I'd say yes. You and me makes two. Will need 5 more to approve.

Liking this post can count as a yes vote.

I’m in but I say we drop 3 max instead of 4. Dropping 4 will mean most everyone’s roster will be stacked.

I like that idea. Dropping 4 players would allow for a substantial cushion. Dropping 3 keeps it relatively close to the original format. There would be scores on 75% of our players, instead of 80%.

@FaithPlusOne yon on board with 12 rounds? If so, we'll just need one more vote to make it official.

Sure, I’m in. I prefer the 3 player drop, personally, but I’m a yes on 12.

Okay, so looks like we're on board with 12 rounds. Drop 3 players, instead of the typical 2. Jaycg15, GE Nole, MGC_07, hailtoyourvictor, boilerzz, FaithPlusOne, and I have all voted in favor of this.

On a side note, with more rounds now available, looks like some are now more eager to select the top available freshmen.

I will go with Jermaine Samuels. I am happy to take a possible 1st team All Big East player and high win shares guy at the end of the 7th round.

@FaithPlusOne is on the clock x 2
He was the guy I was planning on taking if he was available. He’s a really good pick. I think he ends up being Nova’s number 2 option.
