Yahoo's got some dirt...

Got it. So Izzo is dirty because you said so, and Beilein is clean because you said so.

I mean, I’ll bet Michigan players aren’t named in this report. You said more is coming out. Put your money or avatar where your mouth is. Methinks you think Beilein is clean, too, though.

Got facts?
Go read the federal investigation trial about Andrew Lewis.

According to federal records made public during the 2001 trial of Andre Lewis, (who was being tried for fraud and had a relationship with Summit Management, Woodson's agents) the firm's records showed that it had paid for a trip made by Woodson in May 1997 to South Carolina, and for a tuxedo two weeks before the Heisman Trophy was awarded, (and a month before the 1998 Rose Bowl).

Are you trying to say we are all poor white trash and bugs are all we eat because we are lazy and cant get a job to afford store bought food?

No i'm saying yall weird as shit. Walkin around on flat ground with limps cause ya used to mountains, weird looks on your face and shit.

I have no interest in forum bets for something like this. You're naive as hell to be assuming that your school just happens to be clean in something as big as this.

I knew you didn’t truly think Beilein was dirty. Thanks for confirming that.

Oh, I bet Belein is clean just like I believe Izzo is clean. Dawkins never once steered a player toward MSU. There is a reason we lost out on a lot of recruits once things got shady. Cliff Alexander, jaylen johnson, Josh Jackson, and Tugs to name a few recent ones..

Concerning cliff and JJ----Do you think Kansas had something to do with this or are you saying Izzo got wind they might have received benefits from agents and backed off?

Not saying Kansas has anything to do with it. Agents are shady man. Izzo doesn't play those games.

The NCAA is going to kill itself because they refuse to let players get paid while they are making billions.
No sir, the NCAA has looked the other way because they do not get any money off of football, but make all of their money off of the CBB tourney. They allowed this BS to get this way while knowing full well what was going on. They basically just allowed North Carolina to get away with murder (so to speak) with a slap on the wrist, with some back door excuse.

Alabama in football was involved in a "textbook scandal" where all students nationwide were doing the same thing, not just players, but we did not get the North Carolina excuse in Sabans first year, we got probation and 21 games forfeited, my outrage then was not heard, if all the students are doing it, its not an added benefit, the point is, the NCAA is protecting where their money is coming from, unless its the hookers of Louisville they look the other way.

I got banned 4 years or so ago on this basketball board for stating the obvious, these players are following coaches because they are getting paid, its always been obvious to me the AAU is nothing but a cesspool. 25 Years ago the NCAA could have put a stop to all of this by making this ONE RULE:

1. You play AAU basketball and you are not eligible to get a college basketball scholarship.

They do not need the AAU thug coaches to learn the game. It would also stop the NBA from taking these guys so early, they allow them to basically play the best vs. the best and become quasi pros way before they should, and that disadvantages high school players they play against.

No, the players do not need to be paid, they need to get a college education and grow up first, then go pro like everyone did for eons until the scum AAU came along.

Not looking for MSU. First the Baylor-esque rape cover-up, and now they are fully aware of their star player being paid. Izzo should resign effective immediately.

Ill totally agree---and if we had someone on staff that had any part---I'd say hammer us. But how are schools supposed to know about these secret deals---Im sure they hear stuff all the time, but its gotta be tough to know whats true and whats propaganda in the recruiting world. Its strange how parents so commonly let others make decisions regarding their kids.

I'd say pump the breaks on Izzo being some degenerate until actual evidence comes out.

Izzo is one of the highest character guys off the court CBB has ever seen.

He’s notorious for not recruiting guys looking for money (Bowen, Jackson).

Bridges Mom took a 400 Cash advanced 5 months after he signed his LOI...lolz. If that’s what Yahoo has, that’s squeaky clean.
Yet years of rape allegations and nothing ever happens. Yep, Izzo is squeaky clean alright.

Is that Carter's dad?

And here comes the saltiest fan base in the game..

No kidding. I had no idea anyone cared about Purdue one way or the other until this past basketball season.

And I'm still not sure why anyone is dogging Izzo about anything. How the hell should he have known about agents paying high school players or university doctors who abused gymnasts?

This guy gets it.

So I get the Carter/Duke, Knox/UK, Johnson/UNC, Bradley/UNC are non issues because it is under 200$, but why is no one talking about Haywood/UNC 350$? That seems like a lost 4 years of wins if it was before he was pro.

I mean, this report is really all a bunch of bullshit. It's one thing if you can directly link improper payments and a coach (head or assistant), as apparently was done with Pitino and wiretaps as well as the other 4 named in the original FBI story. If the coach (assistant or head) knew, then your school has a problem.

But if some agent gives some kid money and it is all done outside of the school's purvey, then how does a school get penalized?

Or maybe he was taken out to dinner when he was a pro like some others on the list? This whole thing is a nonissue until you can link a coach.

I think these programs are thinking along the sames lines as what you posted. The fact that MSU and Kentucky contacted their conferences and the NCAA and decided to not suspend Bridges/Knox shows where things stand. Perhaps it will bite MSU/UK down the road but I don't think it will.

I at least have facts that it happened. Start there.
Actually, you don't have facts it happened. You have facts that Miller wrote down he gave Miles Bridges mother $400, and paid $70 for a meal. It's not confirmed and it's very unlikely there will be a paper trail that would implicate Bridges, his mother or MSU for such a small quantity.

And that is true for most of the names listed here. Miller's kind of a shady character and absent a money trail on the receiving end, it's going to be hard for the NCAA or FBI to prove the players received anything. Furthermore, many of these small dollar transactions would probably never get to the respective universities. The amounts involved are small enough that they wouldn't create a change in lifestyle the coaches would notice.
